Good afternoon all. I have only read all your interesting posts now as I went off this morning to RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate. Fortunately I had booked one of the buggies to go round. I have been really struggling the last few days and frustrating so much wants doing, garden etc, but between back hurting and my knees complaining from not walking well and my flipping wrists also arguing the toss I knew I would not be doing much if I stayed home. A good decision. The gardens were looking lovely, lots of tulips and still quite a lot of daffodils, with the beginnnings of leaves on the trees at last. Very cheering and I was able to get all round, thanks to the buggy. It was chilly but didnt actually rain although they had promised showers so I was lucky. So home now and catching up with jobs etc, the washer is clonking away and have given myself coffee time and just put the tv on and Luca is at the moment 12 games to 10 with Ronnie Sullivan so quite a contest. I think I shall drink my coffee and enjoy watching this amazing game. Hopefully sun will stay out and let me get my washing out. Hope your days have gone well and you are enjoying some sunshine

Well …. how interesting, I just spoken to the local council again and if I get a paper from them, decide on a name for the road and with the neighbours, different nationalities and very spread out, agree it. Get the signatures, take it to the council and they will put a sign up.

Before I got too excited, I remembered one of the neighbours actually did this 10 years or more ago but the name was never really taken up by any one and eventually the sign fell down. sad

When I say neighbours I use the term very loosely.

I had visions of Dustyangels road.

Good morning everyone from a still and calm Algarve. Unusually there is no wind at all today. I’ve just phone checked the temperature and it says it’s 30°! Our house thermometer says 25° which is probably nearer our average at the moment. It might rain next week when my sonIL and grandson visit. 🤷‍♀️ I really hope not.
They are coming to help out with a few things which has now been superseded by urgent technical sorting of one sort of another. The most urgent being getting us on the map!

DH has been unwell again and I had immense trouble getting an ambulance to us last night. Eventually he recovered and was pronounced by them, well enough to stay at home but to get to Faro hospital this afternoon, They told me how to get a private ambulance. I’ve been on the phone all morning repeatedly being told that this was not possible by different people and agencies and was on the phone again when DH walked into the living room fully dressed and looking fine. For a split second I could have murdered him!!! I’m going to make sure he’s moving about regularly and normally today and if necessary talk or visit our own doctor before I start banging my head against a brick wall again.

How nice to see it, I envy you!

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. I was delighted when I looked in the mirror this morning to see my wonky eye was looking in the right direction again. Still bloodstained and still getting some double vision when reading or looking at my iPad. This will improve with time and I’m back at the eye clinic a week today. Mr.B has done the supermarket shop so must go and put things away. Hope everyone has a good day 🌻

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Nice day yesterday at music club and then a much needed food shop.
I’ve been up and down through the night, loo visits and cat botheration (I don’t have a cat flap as she is really one of my neighbour’s cats, but we have an understanding).
Today to lunchtime recital and will have my nails done.
Happy birthday LLFL, enjoy your trip ginny and Ash and glad to hear you had a better day grandMattie

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. I had a visit from a lovely lady yesterday who is going to come and do a couple of hours cleaning for me each week, I've never had a cleaner before so this is going to be a learning curve, she has been looking after a 94 year old so offered to do a lot more than I need at present but I hope it works out. Off this morning to see DF who is in the process of moving combined with house renovations so a cup of tea required.
I hope the day improves for those feeling poorly and getting over illness.
Happy birthday Llfl

Good morning Mick and all from a slightly brighter-than-grey Angus coast where it's 4°. I made the big mistake of looking at my BBC weather app and noticed that we're forecast rain until May 6th! I do hope that's wrong!
Yesterday I booked my car into the garage (it has an appointment next week now) to get a new clutch. It's a little 'back street garage' that I have used for about 20 years - very good and a great deal cheaper than any dealership. But still - expensive!
Today I'm off to the hairdresser's, but no lovely chatty catch up lunch with my niece as she has gone to LA to see her daughter for a few weeks. Actually that same daughter was over here this past weekend for two days to surprise her Dad on his 70th birthday and then travelled back home with my niece in Monday! Things you can do when you're young!!
Happy Birthday today Ladyleftfield. What a great celebration you're having!
Grandmabatty I too was amazed by your stoicism looking after your two little DGSs when you were so poorly. I'm so glad to know I was wrong and you didn't have to! I hope you feel much better as today goes by.
Enjoy the rest of your cruise Ash. And you the rest of your solo holiday ginny. Great photos from your day out in London, Bluesapphire.
How lovely to hear that owl grandmattie! They're such beautiful creatures.
Now I must toddle off and get this day moving. Enjoy it everyone x

Good morning all from Glasgow. It’s a chilly bright start so far, the clouds are breaking up and hopefully the sun will break through as it did yesterday.

A beautiful sunny day yesterday with not such a chilly wind, I spent most of the day in the garden, warm enough in the sun for a couple of coffee breaks. During this cold spell the flowers of red rhodies and a lemon azalea have withered.
Hairdressers today and whatever else is on the perpetual to do list.
Good to hear you are feeling a bit better today Grandmabatty
Another restful day until you are feeling stronger.
I second this getting old lark etc. Baubles. A life full of hospital /clinic appointments, scans, more meds. Certainly wasn’t in our plans either. Enjoy your walk with the daft dug.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. A sunny start but showers later.
Ironing and admin this morning. Later I’m off to Kiplin Hall to scout out the gardens for our Carers Day in June. We are having mindfulness and well-being activities and a picnic in the grounds.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where we have had a light frost.
I was out in the garden yesterday afternoon, the sun hot on my back! I replanted some spent tulips I'd moved and did some tidying up followed by planting lavender in the front.
Today, still some housework to catch up on then I have to sort out the single spare bedroom as a chest of drawers is coming tomorrow....they have told me delivery is from 7.30am. Which means I'll probably be awake at silly o' clock because I'll be worried about oversleeping and getting caught out in my dressing gown! I've got various linens and clothes in different storage boxes etc and I'm tired of that look so decided to splash out, they had a sale on. When that chest is full, as it soon will be, new stuff will have to be made room for by getting rid of old stuff. I don't know why one person needs so much, to think I once had a DH and all his belongings, and his and mine fitted into less storage....

Happy birthday to you LLFL and I'm looking forward to hearing how your OH gets on with his bees when they arrive.

Have the best possible day, everyone.

Baggs Wed 26-Apr-23 08:35:02

Good morning, Morningthreaders! It's 4º in Argyll and a bit cloudy. Today is the day I get the pot off my arm. Minibaggs is up from Yorkshire and is driving me to the hospital as MrB forgot about today's appointment and booked an electrician for some work we need doing in the mud room. It has been needed done for several years!

Minibaggs got her dad out on his bike (and her on hers) yesterday after a gap of a couple of years.

Good day wishes to all

Good morning everyone from a dry bright and windy start to the day here on the east coast of Fife

My lovely cleaner is unable to come today her poor 4yr old daughter has had a fall

I’m off out to sainsburys for a small shopping trip with my carer for asparagus and a few bottles of red vino.

I’ve changed my Facebook profile photo for my dreamy departed husband

Have a good day all my gn friends

Grandmabatty Wed 26-Apr-23 08:34:19

Glammagran I didn't look after the boys. I'm not that heroic! Their grandad on their dad's side came and got them. I absolutely couldn't have looked after them properly.
