Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I will be mainly doing admin and laundry today plus collecting my prescription from the health centre. Our cleaner is coming today. She should have come on Wednesday but I told her we had a houseful so she was happy to change days. I’m afraid I still haven’t got my head round being 70! It seems such an awfully big number. Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bleak wet Hull morning.

Grandmabatty hope you carry on feeling better now. 💐

Kalu I’m so sorry to hear your worrying news about your DH. You are in my thoughts💐

Sending my love to all those struggling with illness and family worries💐

My GDs daddy came home last night after 4 months at sea. DD sent a lovely video of them meeting him off the train it was so cute.
Today I’m picking GS up from school thank goodness he is able to go in with the strikes.
I want to put a banana loaf in the oven early because I want it cool and hidden before GS comes from school as he can sniff out a banana loaf from a mile away then won’t eat his tea. He eats all the outside of it.

Have a good day everyone hope you can enjoy some sunshine🌻🌻

Morning from an overcast S Hampshire, warmer though. Safe journeys home Ash and ginny.
Got all my potting on done yesterday before the rain came in, the greenhouse is getting busy.
Today I’ll go for a walk, bung the vacuum round and dust before Tesco deliver later.
Pub this evening.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning everyone from Inverness where at last it’s stopped raining, we had it non stop yesterday the entire day
A shame about the muddled appointments mick I hope you can easily get them rearranged without waiting too long
I’m off to the gym this morning and then a much needed hairdressers appointment this afternoon for a cut and a colour - I’ll feel better after it!
Safe journey home Ash sounds like you’ve had a lovely time
Thinking of you and your DH Kalu💐
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning all

Yesterday the boys were good on their day off of school, today we have AS’s two (3 &
5) as he takes our DiL away to a beautiful spa hotel until tomorrow evening. They will be home in time for DD’s birthday celebration dinner. I love having the little ones but I also really like the hotel they are going to, it’s definitely in my top 10 of U.K. Hotels.

DD is not at work today so I may join her and The Imp for lunch with her friends as the 3yr old cousins get on very well.

Have a good day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a wet North Leicestershire.

I have a busy, bitty day ahead. Butcher's, Waitrose, town, garden centre, egg farm and home.

Burger van for tea, so no cooking.

Have a good day all.

Good morning all on a dull, grey Friday.
Bank Holiday weekends never meant much to me as a “holiday” but our village always had Maypole Dancing by the children of the village school on May Day. I can remember many years when they either danced in cagoules or shed their coats for a few minutes of dancing going blue with cold so perhaps the”unseasonable” weather is not all that unusual.
Feeling bleak because two friends now have had sad news about their husbands health and it brings home how fragile life is. Carpe diem indeed.
Wishing all who may be in pain or distress some relief and comfort from those you love and who love you. And a pleasant day to all.

Good morning from grey and cool South Lanarkshire.

I looked out some lighter clothes yesterday so I really must get the iron out, that’s the only downside of summer, linen really needs to be ironed.
It will have to wait until later though DH and I both have appointments this forenoon.

Thinking of those with troubles especially Kalu.

Have the best day possible everyone.

ginny Fri 28-Apr-23 07:17:35

Good morning everyone..
My trip to Mevagissy yesterday was a wet one . Made worse by a driver who thought it fun to drive through a large puddle as. I was walking to the harbour and absolutely soak me !
Today is going home day. Train from St. Austell this afternoon so will be filling in time till then.
Thoughts with those with illness and sadness.

Morning Mick, morning All. How lovely to see it’s dry outside after heavy rain yesterday evening.

Will be out and about today. A day inside yesterday was interspersed with a lot of chatting (gossiping!) with neighbours.

We also enjoy Wells karmalady, always park over Waitrose. You’ve reminded me we’ve not been for ages, a day out for us.

I’m pleased you feel better grandmab, welcome back ash, hope you’re ok marydoll.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is gentle with us all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very dreary, chilly South Yorkshire. MickI’m sorry to hear about your delayed appointments. I have had problems with delayed post too recently.
Had a lovely morning with the walking group yesterday - a good long ramble round the “big wood”. Lots of bluebells out now, and lots of rushing water in the brooks. Always good to see.
Nothing much planned for today. Need to sort out my larder - there’s a lot of out of date stuff that seems to have escaped my attention - and do a bit of ironing, and then food shopping.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday, Ash. I’m sure it’s nice to be home.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a damp, grey NE.
Yesterday was a busy day, went to the bank to make an appointment to speak to someone face to face, managed to get one in a month's time. They kept trying to fob me off by saying I could do everything online. The complex issue I have requires documents to be seen.
The appointment with the solicitor was good, she explained everything that I was unsure about and I left feeling confident I had made the correct decisions.
Quiet day for me today as my vaccination arm is a bit achey.
Thoughts are with Kalu 💐

BlueBalou Fri 28-Apr-23 06:54:26

Good morning from wet Wiltshire, everything is sodden again. I did a couple of hours gardening yesterday, sorted out nearly all my pots. The agapanthus didn’t survive the winter, stupidly I didn’t bring them in the greenhouse 😵‍💫. I have ordered some replacements and will be more careful this year.
Just a couple more to sort! I also tidied the greenhouse so feeling quite smug 😊
Yesterday afternoon it poured with rain, I really am getting fed up with it now!
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend x

Marydoll Fri 28-Apr-23 06:54:13

Good morning from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 8 °C.

Glad you are improving GB. Kalu has constantly been in my thoughts. 💐

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Grandmabatty Fri 28-Apr-23 06:33:30

Karmalady thank you. I'm hoping I can put it behind me now. Just a warning to be careful.

Grandmabatty Fri 28-Apr-23 06:32:16

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and very misty -moisty. I know, as I've had to get up early and put the bucket out. Ash a lovely holiday for you and back to ' auld claws and porridge ' as we would say in my neck of the woods. NannyJan it sounds like a very pleasant couple of days for you. GrandMattie you are nearly there. Mick that's a nuisance about the missed appointments.
Yesterday I wasn't well again and therefore did very little. I think I ate the wrong stuff on Wednesday and it was too much for my poor innards to cope with. So yesterday was very little and light.
So far this morning, I feel fine 🤞 I've had a coffee and I'll attempt some porridge in a while but I don't have the feeling of nausea from yesterday to contend with. I'm still going to take things easy and I have a tesco delivery later. So, some light pottering is on the cards. Thanks to all who were concerned about me. I appreciate it. Have a good day all.

karmalady Fri 28-Apr-23 06:29:35

Good morning, s somerset is set fair for a nice day ahead and I have a full 3 hour wash on

Kalu, thinking of you flowers
You too oops, I hope life settles down for you and your family

I was thinking about going to a talk later but not now, at last the weather looks promising, so I will be pumping my tyres as soon as I am changed. Everything is abandoned for now, except sunny-weather activities

I did drive to wells yesterday, it had been planned for today until I saw the forecast. I did a JL click and collect and picked up a few groceries, while managing to walk past the bakery delights. A nice journey there, even passing a romany caravan and tethered horses. A relic from the old traditions when somerset really was the land of the summer people. Life is not all about crypto or cashless here in somerset and thank goodness for that

Grandmabatty, I worry about you and that recurring illness

A good day to everyone

Susan56 Fri 28-Apr-23 06:22:58

Good morning from Shropshire.

I am hoping for a quiet morning before collecting H from nursery at lunchtime, M from school at 3 then back here for a sleepover.

How annoying about the appointments Mick.Hope you can get things sorted.

I hope Grandmabatty, Sar and others who are unwell are continuing to feel better.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

NannyJan53 Fri 28-Apr-23 06:20:26

Good morning from a drizzly Black Country. I think it is forecast to be fine later

Finally had my hair cut and higlighted yesterday. I last went to Hairdresser in November! Then a visit to an old work colleague for a chin wag.

Today I am meeting another old work colleague in Bridgnorth for lunch. Last saw each other a year ago due to one of us always being away, or busy.

Welcome back to UK Ashcombe

Wishing you all the best day possible

grandMattie Fri 28-Apr-23 06:09:32

Good morning from Bristol. DD’s house is half way up the valley side and overlooks the city centre proper. It is very misty and mild, for a change.
That bridge is very clever, Ash, why aren’t there more of them? Hope you have a safe journey home - to “my” neck of the woods theses days.
I have never lived so far west. When I first came to England, I went to Poole and moved east from there…
The girls were off school yesterday, and I looked after them until I had to go to the flat for my fridge/freezer. The delivery was pretty prompt, but I forgot to pay for unpacking. What ever happened to that? One used to buy a large item, it was delivered, unpacked and installed, all for the same price.
I also put the curtains up, 3 of 4, as I didn’t want to take a late bus. I’ll do the 4th today. I need to “train” them so they hang nicely when open.
Today, a spot of child minding for DSiL’s little one, first thing and then, bless her, DD is devoting most of her day off to me, before they go off camping for a long weekend.
Safe journeys, happy Friday, good contacts, Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Ashcombe Fri 28-Apr-23 05:52:19

Good morning from a cloudy Southampton where we docked at 3.00 a.m. Onward journey by train after breakfast to end a relaxing cruise.

No signal for the last day or so but normal service is now resumed! The photos show a lifting bridge and suspension bridge as we departed from Bordeaux on Wednesday.

Hope everyone is well and has a good weekend. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
