Good morning all.
Another gloriously sunny morning here in Foxyland. When I was out with the dog yesterday I saw the Maypole was up on the green opposite our old house so I am keeping my 🤞 it stays fine for tomorrows Mayday festivities in the village.
I was awake far too early and have read the Sunday paper, drunk a mug of tea and am wondering whether I could squeeze another 30 minutes nap now?
Still sorting winter/summer clothes and shocked at the number of pairs of “winter” trousers I seem to be packing up when I tend to live in three colours of jeans- light indigo, dark indigo and black. confused
I was inspired by multicolouredswapshop’s lovely pic yesterday to look out my white jeans and trousers for sunny days like today.
So sorting, bagging up , washing and the inevitable ironing -hoping I can find a good film to watch while I do the latter and if it stays as sunny, I expect the garden will beckon.
Wishing you a peaceful and pleasant Sunday

Good morning from a damp & drizzly Sefton. Our planned family morning stroll on our Iron Man beach has been postponed until tomorrow when it is forecast that the weather will be much improved. So an unexpected empty day. May just rest up & hope to finally clear up the remnants of my 3rd bout this year of nonCovid viral cold bug thingy. The coughing is exhausting.
"The best laid plans ......." Mick, hope you can get booked onto another trip.
Sounds like your flat is beginning to look more like home grandMattie as you put your "stamp" on it.
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday break as best they can. The weather could try a bit harder though.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's been a lovely weekend here. I wonder if it'll be the same next weekend?
DH has a new coffee machine which we'll be playing with this morning. I have sold the old one online and will wait for it to be collected this morning. DH is off fishing again and I'll walk to the shops for some bread and sunshine.
Roast pork with a nice glass of white this evening.
Love to all 🦩x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny (the the mo) South Yorkshire. Sorry your trip was called off Mick. What a disappointment.
DD was a powerhouse yesterday. She cut my grass and dug out my flower bed which was a bigger job than I thought it would be - we (she - I just fetched and carried) needed a pick axe at one point! If we hadn’t been rained off we would have got the other bed widened too, but that can wait.
A quiet day for me. I may go for a walk and I’ll roast a small chicken for dinner.
Have the best day you can folks.

Morning from an overcast S Hants. Sounds idyllic *corner), haven’t done that for years.
Yesterday my son and his partner called in, with flowers, we sat out in the sun, glorious.
We transferred all the data from our old mobiles to new, the old ones have new homes.
Today will be sowing seeds and tackling crosswords.
Enjoy yours 🦩🦩.

And a very Happy Birthday to your DD1 in Australia Ash 🎉🥂🎂

Morning all from a currently sunny S Yorks.

It's Quakers and then the gym.

Lovely family reports Cornergran and enjoy family and outings today all. Bests for poorlies.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not sunny but a bit warmer today. 8°c.
Not sure yet what shape the day will take. I will go to see DMiL just out of hospital.
I enjoyed a too brief visit from DD and her brood yesterday and was able to deliver the much belated cardigan I knitted her for Christmas.

I hope you manage to go on another bus trip Mick. It is a nuisance when things are cancelled like that.
I hope you all enjoy some niceness this weekend.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Inverness, we didn’t see any sun yesterday but hoping it puts in an appearance sometime soon
We had a lovely evening playing games at DD2s last night, good family fun and everyone got on well. It’s a quiet day today with nothing planned except a catch up video call with DS to look forward to. DH is off to work for a couple of hours soon so I’ll have a leisurely breakfast and do a bit of tidying up.
Sounds like you’re having a really lovely time with the family corner, enjoy making happy memories
Happy 2nd Birthday to your DGS Ginny 🧸 enjoy the celebrations
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a dismal s somerset, still raining and will be dull all day. I have to take care not to overload on carbs on a day like this. Snails and slugs will be having a field day

It will be an indoor day due to the weather, luckily I am not short on crafting hobbies and have plenty to watch on dvd, plus the archers of course. Reminds me of family camping weather, we always stuck it out, even through the fastnet gales in west wales. Grateful to be in a cosy house now, rather than on holiday

I bought some boxes of pectin yesterday and some sugar. Rhubarb is accumulating in the freezer and rhubarb jam will be made at some time. With lemon, which I bulk bought and have been zesting and juicing to freeze

A good day to everyone

Good morning from a dull Torbay following overnight rain.

ginny: Today is my DD1’s 48th birthday. She lives in Victoria, Australia with her husband and son (DGS1) so it’s been a few years since we've been together, sadly. DD2 and family plan to visit in the (British) summer, following three abortive attempts in recent years.

I hope you can book an alternative outing, Mick.

It sounds like you’re making your flat feel homely, grandMattie and I hope the rabbits are behaving themselves!

A busy but rewarding time being with the younger generation, cornergran. Enjoy!

My (female) cousin is a retired non-stipendiary Vicar in Oxfordshire where she had several small churches in her benefice around Witney, Ladyleftfieldlover. I guess there are several such arrangements in rural areas.

More post-holiday laundering awaits! Have a blessed Sunday, everyone! 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet. Not a good start. Mick that's disappointing for you. Cornergran it sounds like a good day. Yesterday was a quiet day. I pottered about and did some more deep cleaning
Today is going to be a cooking day. Roast a chicken, make stock, make chicken and rice soup, bake scones and a cake, I think. Have a good day all

BlueBalou Sun 30-Apr-23 07:24:53

Good morning, a dull start here in Wiltshire after yesterday’s glorious sunshine.
I got a border sorted yesterday, very pleased with my and dh’s efforts. Sat in the sun reading for a couple of hours, bliss! It really felt very warm.
Today planting up a border, tackling another and a pile of ironing sometime.
Have a lovely day x

Good morning everyone .
It is bright outside so I hope it stays that way.
Today is smallest DGS s 2nd birthday so we shall be going to a family celebration this afternoon.
Bits and bobs to sort this morning.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed and will be until around 8 am. Church this morning at the smallest of the churches in the Benefice. It is a Georgian church and quite beautiful. It only has about four services a year. Afterwards OH and I will go to Oxford and buy the bed for the spare room I looked at yesterday. Why do mattresses cost more than the actual bed? Then lunch at our favourite Sunday lunch venue. I am looking forward to watching Channel 4 tonight and The Windsors - an irreverent spoof about the Coronation! Did anyone else see the news this morning where ‘we’ are expected to swear allegiance to the King during the service? Have a good Sunday:

Morning Mick, morning All. Sounds windy out there.

Spent most of the day on the beach with the family yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed sandcastle building with our Littlest while trying to convince myself his cousins wouldn’t drown. I should have slept well, wonder why I didn’t?

We’ll wait and see what time they all stir to decide on todays activities. Suspect more sandcastles at some point. A competition was suggested. smile. Lovely to see the cousins (7-17) adapting to each other’s needs. Really appreciate the effort they’ve all made, the final bit of celebration to mark Mr C’s 80th birthday. We’re treasuring every minute.

Look after yourselves everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning from an overcast Bristol.
Had a quiet day yesterday. I went to the flat and put out my house plants on windowsills, hung and “trained” my fourth curtain and measured up the living room curtains.
Came home to alter said curtains and watched “Colin from Accounts” as recommended by some of you. Dinner was a duck breast, delicious, as it was the first mea I have eaten in a fortnight.
Today, church and the second curtain + my bunny duties. The family returns after lunch tomorrow.
I hope everyone enjoyed the sun yesterday, and the rest of their long weekend. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩❤️🦩🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Another bright and dry start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday , I had a email reference a day trip I booked on only to say it has been cancelled , I will ring them up to see if I can get on another trip which would be the following day or refund my bank account .
Think they must set a figure around 30 plus to make it worthwhile running.
But today quite prior to tomorrow .
Take Care,
Mick
