We have grandchildren here with us this week-end, my husband being quite a royalist has the tv on trying to interest them. He's just said to granddaughter, who has only just got up "I was lucky enough to see Queen Elizabeth crowned" granddaughter "well good for you, now can I have my breakfast " However, grandson is watching it with granddad and actually seems quite interested. You never can tell how children will view this day and what memories they may have of it.

I just love the horses and the uniform and the precision of the processions.

Glad I didn’t have to get up at silly o’clock to plait those horses manes and get their tails so shiny and knit free, they really are magnificent.
