A late good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Returned on Friday night from my Orient Express trip to Budapest with DD. If you have done it yourself, you will know how memorable it is. We did rather trip over each other in our cabin though😁 I had my own room in Budapest, a new city to me and met up with DD’s cabin crew friends who live there.
Loved the architecture.
Still walking round my (small) suitcase so back to earth now.
Will read through later and thoughts to anyone with troubles.

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. A quiet day here, bacon rolls and a mug of tea for brunch then watching the steam trains and catching up on the news.

Happy Sunday to all 🌻🌻

Good Morning from a gloriously sunny Co Armagh, it was sunny and dry here yesterday too , I had to water some of my newly planted pots
grandMattie, anyone less gaga I have never encountered , if you meet all the questionnaires today that will be one hurdle overcome 🤣🤣

Good morning Mick and all. It's been thick fog here since Friday afternoon and there's no sign of it lifting. I find it sooo depressing, as if a malevolent "thing" is pressing me down into the earth.
Anyway, I did enjoy watching the Coronation yesterday. I had no intention of watching it all, but I was glued until they left the balcony! I do enjoy the grandeur and the pomp and circumstance. And of course the excellence of the military and the bands. Plenty of 'lump in throat' moments, but actual tears were reserved for the Red Arrows flypast. I think it's my RAF allegiance! My strongest visual memory of the day is of the singer high up in the Abbey wearing that glorious bright yellow dress. I'd only just switched the TV on and wasn't even settled down to watch at that point!
So it's back to reality today. The fog is thickening and Tesco awaits! Enjoy all your family gatherings and street parties. Grandmattie I'm sure you'll rise to the occasion and enjoy meeting your new neighbours.

Good morning from a dull and overcast Essex by the sea.
I also enjoyed the Coronation yesterday, Britain at it's best.
DH has gone to rugby I have ironing to do.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone xxx

Gwen, I was born and brought up in Mauritius. My family was part of the original French settlers of this uninhabited island, so I don’t fit the normal view of my compatriots.
Even after over 50 years here, I only have to say “hello” and I’m asked where I’m from. It gets very wearing after a time. Each time I move it is the same thing.
Added to this, I’m very shy and introverted, I don’t do big gatherings…. It is a cross I have to bear. I do it courageously, but rarely enjoy it.

Good morning,
It’s dry here at the moment, but I think we’ll have a showery day. Yesterday was dry until about 3.30, then it became very wet.
Like many of you, I enjoyed the Coronation yesterday. It went so well. I loved all the pageantry and music. Fabulous.
I must move about today though, to make up for sitting about so much yesterday. If it stays dry, I’ll potter in the garden a bit and take myself for a walk.
No special lunch here today, I made an afternoon picnic tea yesterday and we’re going to one tomorrow organised by the church as well (indoors, which is fortunate as we’re forecast yet more rain).
Have a good day whatever you are planning.

So sorry to hear that GmBatty. I think a GP call would be a good idea. Constant nausea is so debilitating.💐

Grandmabatty Sun 07-May-23 09:18:29

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and misty. I haven't a great deal to impart as I was up most of the night being sick again. I'm feeling tired and fed up. I think a call to the doctor is on the cards. Oh bother! Have a good day all

GrannyGravy13 Sun 07-May-23 09:11:01

Good morning all from an overcast North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today - roast chicken and the papers, I think.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 07-May-23 09:01:28

Good morning from a grey and damp Oxfordshire, dry but wet underfoot, there is a tea party on the Village Green, I hope it stays dry for them.
Telly was on for the Coronation and I dipped in and out, very impressed by Penny Mordant and the thousands of very wet Service men and women and Police who stood for hours in the rain, I will always stop and watch a band, marching or sitting, I love it.
Enjoy your Sunday today Mick and everyone, let’s hope the sun shines.

luluaugust Sun 07-May-23 08:50:10

Good morning all from a grey W Kent. A thoroughly enjoyable day yesterday with a visit from DD2. We had our own party of Prosecco and scones with all the trimmings. Online with DD1 to discuss the clothes and comings and goings. Enjoyed it all but need a good walk today.

Good morning from a low cloud watery sunshine sort of day in Argyll. Minibaggs has left for her very long bus journey back to Yorkshire. MrB drove her v early to Glasgow to catch said bus. He's not back yet.

Today will mostly be laundry day as the two of them spent part of yesterday getting hot putting up scaffolding in old clothes. And there's the bedding. MiniB was able to let go of some of the stress she's been holding for the last couple of months and, while here, she painted a picture for her boyfriend's mum's birthday.

MrB just turning up the drive. He must have formula-oned it back from Glasgow.

Good day wishes to all.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but the sun is trying to peek through.

I spent yesterday in front of the tv, thoroughly enjoying the pomp and circumstance. Wasn't it wonderful? And the beautiful music! Am afraid I sobbed.during the gospel choir's Alleluia.
Enjoyed my smoked salmon and opened a bottle of pink fizz.
In the evening I cooked myself a delicious steak.

This afternoon is our street party; we.kick off with cake and fizz at 2pm, then barbecue from 5 o'clock. I have been asked to contribute sausages, hot dog rolls and relish. We are a small close of 9 houses, and everyone is taking part. The close will be closed, chairs and tables will be taken outside and it's BYO drinks. Just hope the weather behaves!

Hope everyone has a good day.

GrannySomerset Sun 07-May-23 08:36:55

After a joyous yesterday we have our own street party today and are hoping the weather will be kind.

I was impressed by the inclusivity of yesterday’s Coronation - the diversity of those taking part and the number of women involved (especially Penny Mordant) - and am in awe of the music and the amount of work behind its perfection. All in all a wonderful day despite the thoroughly British weather.

EkwaNimitee Sun 07-May-23 08:31:08

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle. We had a sunny day here yesterday and I thought the coronation would have been better held up here! I remembered the late Queen Salote of Tonga at the last coronation insisting on riding in her open carriage in the pouring rain and waving at all the crowds...who loved her for it.
Today I really must get out, the TV was on for so long yesterday, at one point it told me it was going to turn itself off if I didn't stir and press a button! Well, not in those exact words.
Gardening might also happen though there's a possibility of showers so we'll see. If so, I've plenty of reading to tackle, it tends to pile up at this time of year because I prefer to be outside.
Do have the best possible day all, some of you do seem to be set for some yummy eating....

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 07-May-23 08:24:19

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
GrandMattie you might just meet your new bestie at the tea party. Just enjoy it. I would have loved a street party here, so I’m having a wee party of my own. Not many from the street coming, but it will probably be quite a manageable number eventually. Did my baking Friday and Saturday (while watching the coronation). Might go to church this am, depends what I remember I should be doing!
Have the best day possible folks

harrigran Sun 07-May-23 08:21:11

Good morning from a dry NE.
I watched the coronation yesterday but only from the arrival at the Abbey, not all the chat before.
I made some smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches and had lunch in front of the TV.
DS and family arrived while I was watching the last of the coverage. Family hadn't eaten so salad and cooked meats and the rest of my salmon sandwiches were consumed.
It was after 11pm when they went home and I went straight to bed, it had been a busy day and I cooked duck for dinner.
DD and SIl are coming today and taking me out for lunch.
Looking forward to the concert.
Have a good day all.

NanKate Sun 07-May-23 08:13:07

Good morning Mick and All from a mild South Bucks.

Our Coronation Party yesterday went well with just the 5 of us. We all ate heartily and my cake baking friend brought a delicious lemon drizzle cake and a fantastic fruit cake covered in nuts and dried fruits in a sticky glaze 👍👍

We received on Friday photos and video of our 2 DGSs one had won Footballer of the season and the other Clubman for his support of all the team throughout the season. We were so proud of our 10 and 12 year olds. 🥳

Taking a picnic with the leftovers today to our local NT Gardens, then back to finish off the coronation chicken, salad and jacket potatoes. Yum !

Jaxjacky Sun 07-May-23 08:11:46

Morning all from a very damp S Hampshire, it rained all day yesterday, today we’re due dry but cloudy weather. We are having a family bbq, ten of us, 20 high apparently.
The Coronation was glorious, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

BlueBalou Sun 07-May-23 08:08:38

Good morning, it’s a misty start here on the hill in Wiltshire, everything looks very damp too.
I enjoyed half-watching the Coronation, I love all the pomp and pageantry.
Little happened otherwise yesterday apart from two very wet walks with DDog; she doesn’t mind the rain neither do I if I have my wellies and waterproofs on.
Today a roast dinner I think, with either trifle of raspberry and peach crumble.
No street parties going on here, quite surprised really as there were lots for the Jubilee.
Enjoy your day x
