What everyday irritations make you really grumpy?

People with no consideration for others covers it all, really.

Blondiescot, all power to your husband’s elbow (and his bucket).

I’m sorry if, like, someone has already, like, mentioned that. I haven’t, like, read all the, like, posts.

People (usually young) whose every other word is ‘like’.

Cats who poo in my garden
Arrogance
People who drop litter
Lack of manners
People who block shopper market aisles- let other people through
Adults who are too busy on their phones-talk to your children

At present, it's my little rural town. I live one side of town and the shops and facilities are the other. I can only access them or get out of town by going under a very small railway bridge that is on a corner, off a tiny roundabout, and leads to a set of lights to cross to get into town itself. Our town council have taken it upon themselves to widen the cycle path (that is never used) and halve the bridge width. Work is supposedly going on, although I have yet to see any workers, half the road has been cut off by cones and 3-way traffic lights are in place. What should be a 5 min, at most, drive now takes up to 30 minutes, just to escape my section of town. It's utterly infuriating.

DIY 'kings' who do their best to shatter our silence. They moved in because 'it is so lovely and quiet', 4 years and a home build extension later, noise from 6am-10.30/11pm, I could do damage

They also built a skateboard ramp in their garden, thump, bump, bump, over and over and over...they never go on holiday so I can't do it the damage I wish I could! Also 4 children with 3 under 6, the screaming level amazes me...

I have just had coffee with a friend who I haven’t seen in ages and it was spoilt by a woman sitting at the next table talking very loudly and shrieking with laughter every minute. We couldn’t hear each other speak. We didn’t say anything for fear of receiving a torrent of abuse. Why can’t people consider others?

My computer maintaining that the printer is offline!
Sometimes it is, not because I wanted it offline, but for some obscure reason known only to Microsoft. At other times the printer is happily printing whatever I requested it to, even though the computer says it is offline!

Workmen who think their choice of radio programme on full blast is exactly what everone else wants to hear too. Why can they never play my taste in music.

But the thing makes me shout at the tv and annoys me so much I contacted the Advertising Standards people is the advert for Our Time, an internet dating service, who sponsor Homes in the Sun, which I watch daily on 4 at lunch time.

The man makes an idiot face and sticks his tongue in the corner of his mouth and I find it really offensive. The Advertising Standards people said as they are sponsors and not exactly advertisers they can't do anything.

Another ad is for an organisation, forget which, who sell your car. The person who sold theirs chants repeatedly 'just sold my car, just sold me car' and I switch radio channels.

Pigs are nice, intelligent animals.

Tradesmen who give you a time they will be coming and turn up late or not at all. Children, usually girls who constantly scream, it goes through me. People who throw litter on the floor, pigs all of them.

I think I've definitely turned into a Victoria Meldrew these days. So many little things irritate the hell of me, many already mentioned on here. Litter absolutely infuriates me - there's no excuse for it whatsoever. And as a dog owner, I hate the irresponsible ones who don't pick up after their pets - or even worse, bag it and then leave the bags or hang them on trees, bushes etc.
Oh, and after reading the comments about people having bonfires when neighbours have washing hanging out, a few years ago, we had ones who did that all the time - polite requests for them not to do it were just ignore, so one beautifully sunny day when almost everyone in the street had full washing lines and yes, they lit another fire, my husband went along and asked them to put it out. He was told, in no uncertain terms by the woman to 'go forth and multiply' - so he returned a few minutes later with a large bucket of water and poured it over the fire. She was speechless! He told her next time, he'd bring another bucket for her too - result, no more bonfires!

People who use strong smelling aftershave, perfume or oils at the swimming pool, in the sauna or changing area annoy me and make me uncomfortable. someone uses what I think is Old Spice or Hai Karate at the local pool where I swim daily and you can smell it 2/3 of the way up the pool as you swim. Sometimes the sauna smells too. I can't breathe in it then.

Electric bikes on the pavement scare me as they are fast and you can't hear them. Ordinary ones on the pavement are scary too and many people ride on the pavement round here.

Litter bugs annoy me. They even leave empty wrappings and bottles NEXT to the bin. When I had dogs people who didn't pick up their dog poo in the park or street annoyed me, in that people look at other dog owners suspiciously, as if it might be you who doesn't pick up.

I'm a bit anti-social about phone calls now as they can disturb. Email is better unless you know the person is not busy.

Litter has to be one of worst things. Kids screaming with no parental control, oh yes and ridiculous adverts. Lastly peoplewho ‘butcher the English language’.
I’m lucky though to live in an apartment with almost no noise thankfully👍.

I'm a total curmudgeon.
Everything irritates me - except my grandchildren, who can do no wrong!
My worst irritation is caused by people who ring for a long-winded moaning session, just when I'm eating or a favourite TV program starts.
I'm happy to listen and to sympathise, but unless it's an emergency, why can't they text and ask when it would be convenient to have a good natter?

A lot of houses have changed hands in our street, and I find the noise of building works unbearable. Our new neighbour has pestered us non-stop about chopping some of our trees down, because they cast too much shade over their garden. The trees were clearly visible when they built the house!

I guess cyclists who come up quickly behind you when you are walking on a track and don’t ring their bells. Very dangerous. Especially if they are wearing Lycra, yuck,yuck and double yuck.

People who grumble a lot really.

I second that one Vicky. We live on a main road and in the summer with the windows open they can be heard from the crack of dawn.

Cyclists talking at the top of their voices as they pass along quiet country lanes. They sound like a gaggle of geese and can be heard coming from a long way off. It amazes me that they don't turn it down when passing (quiet) walkers or going through residential areas.

The way the term "reach out" seems to be the only way those on television talk about what we used to call 'contacting' someone.

"I reached out to save him from drowning" or
"I reached out to pull the blanket from the end of the bed" are absolutely fine, but why has the word 'contact' been outlawed?
