What everyday irritations make you really grumpy?

I have just returned home from a walk to my town centre. A lovely sunny day. I saw lots of people in the church yard, sat on gravestones, eating and drinking, and chatting away. I think its disgraceful behaviour. Why can't they sit on a bench?

I don’t mind the sound of the children in the garden next door, it’s lively and cheerful, but I’m lucky as the houses are not on top of each other.

The farmers decided to have a good chat on their revved-up quad bikes at 6.30 am, and the smell of sillage being spread . Ah the smell of grass after it has been through a cow and stored for 6 months. The delights of country living,I am a towny at heart.

Noisy gardens.
My neighbours on one side are passionate about their garden, reorganising it about twice a year but as they have removed all grass and replaced it with gravel, paving slabs and decking, I hear every movement they make. He also seems to use his many high powered and noisy tools very frequently, (retired engineer) whilst she tells him everything he is doing wrong.
But it is only a small moan; at present there are no screaming children or noisy teenagers or loud televisions, and I am the one with the smelly barbecue.

I also hate litter, I pick it up if I can, and fly-tipping in the country lanes near here.

Dogs off leads.
Dog 💩 left on walkways.
Middle lane hoggers on the motorway .

Barking dogs, especially the happy ones, not only is the noise annoying but the dog must be distressed if it barks continually.

I do appreciate that some owners don't know as they are out but when you tell them you are not believed as they haven't heard it or no one else has complained.

Litter, and the morons who either don't clear up their dog poo, or what is almost worse, having taken the trouble to wrap it in a poo bag, then hang the bag in a nearby tree, presumably for the dog-poo fairy to collect when next she flies by. Also noise pollution in general Silence is a rare commodity these days, and is so beautiful when found.

My flat is on the corner of the building and I find the summer annoying too as people seem to gather to chat right under my window. I can hear a constant chattering which disturbs my concentration. I know I am getting more intolerant of noise now I'm older.

Alternate, instead of the British English alternative always grates on me.
To be honest I identify with most of what others have posted here. I am clearly just an old curmudgeon, and getting worse as I get older. Note to self: I must be more tolerant…I must be more tolerant…I must be more…………. No chance! There goes that bloody angle grinder again. Grrrr.

The podcast add, I think on BBC, when they are playing Elgar's Cello Concierto in E Minor and a mobile phone goes off just before the crescendo. It totally obliterates the whole beauty of the piece. Whoever thought that up was a complete novice and not some dynamic modern advertiser. Oh, an people who just think they can dump their car on the pavement, leave a child/dog in in and pop into the newsagents. I once saw a child try to climb out on the traffic side into traffic from behind. Fortunately, parents came out just in time.

Prices in Supermarkets were the BOGOF or multipack offer works out more expensive than the single item!

The appalling grammar and diction on television and the noise of children. Fortunately there are no children living or visiting nearby and the remote control is to hand.

Misuse of the apostrophe and using lightening instead of lightning.

JACKIEST, I hate discrimination and racism, but I don't think that it is always white against black, it is in all races, colours, creeds and so on, and it (as you quite rightly said) doesn't make for a happier place.

I have come to dread and hate the Summer. The noise of screaming children (nor I or my own were allowed to scream unnecessarily), the Strimmer, the axle grinder (a biggie hate) and so on. I realise I am a Victor Meldrew who enjoys quiet.

The man on the “Bri’ish” Gas, ad, and anyone else who can’t seem to find their ‘t’s!!

The appalling grammar and spelling on social media. It really annoys me when newspapers or other media not only misspell but get the meaning totally wrong.
Eg the artist formally known as Prince.

i don't have a garden as i live in a small block of flats, it used to have a policy of only children 16 and over 20 years ago, now it is all families, i would love to sit with my veranda door open and enjoy the fresh air (housebound for the last 2 months) but all i can hear is the kids all screaming, shouting as they play and this will go on till about 10pm, i don't mind the kids playing but the girls tend to scream a lot.

Discrimination does not matter what direction it is in. If you have to think what race, gender or colour a person is before deciding to include or exclude someone then it is almost certainly discrimination. The world would be so much nicer without it.

Barbecue cooking in gardens on hot days - the smell really turns my stomach.

Road works, especially on minor roads, they appear to be everywhere that I want to go!
