Husband accidentally breaking dishes

Thank you for the information, Namsnanny. I have found some shallow bowls on Ebay which will be ideal for the cats. I am forever kicking and chipping the ceramic ones on the kitchen floor.

I bought a baby bowl recently, it's made from bamboo. The only thing you can't do with it is put it in the microwave.
I bought it as a cat bowl because it has the cat's name in it.

I have chopping boards made from rice husks, which must be similar. Dishwasher proof and easy care. Love the plates, though, Namsnanny.

We are lucky that we aren't clumsy, weak or shaky (yet) but they would also be great for the grandchildren and eating out in the garden.

For fun I've sent for these (coconut shell bowls).
We can sit in the garden (surely we will have one good day?), eat our breakfast, with our straw hats on, and make believe we are on a tropical island.

Not bamboo but wheat straw notspaghetti and yes they do feel as you describe.

Are they like bamboo plates? With a sort-of melamine feel?

Good advice about getting a check up but it may be something much simpler like just losing power and strength in our hands as we age. I have become a big dropper of things where I never used to be my hands are so arthritic now. I am doing exercises but the damage is done I suppose. I hope your husband is ok.

So if dropping things is a recent development, a visit to the doctor to have a check up would not be amiss.

You make a good point M0nica.
My husband has been like this for many years. For as long as I have known him.
But, his Grandfather suffered terribly with Parkinson's in the last few years of his life.
I think the dropping things and 'not quite reaching' the work surface or cupboard is actually getting worse, now I think of it.
It's very easy to not notice when things creep up on you isn't it?

My late husband had Parkinson’s and one thing we found useful was a tray with a special coating that stopped things from sliding off. It was bought from Parkinson’s U.K. online store. It is also possible to buy a sort of mesh that can be cut to size and used for the same purpose.

Well I bought these from a shop on Ebay. No doubt you can google wheat straw eco plates and dishes and probably find them on amazon.

They can be used in the micro wave too.

I sympathise with your husband Namsnanny I am clumsy and forever breaking things. It's my husband's life work going round after me repairing things.
