Good morning everyone from a sunny and bright Inverness, a bit of light cloud around but not too bad
So sorry to hear about your DD Gingster, poor lady she’s really suffering.
Pleased to hear Miss Oops is starting to improve a bit now Oops, I hope she’s home soon
Nothing much planned today, DH is going to work first thing so I’ll probably go into town for a browse around the shops and maybe a walk by the river.
Hope you have a lovely holiday Ginny - enjoy making special family memories!
Big congratulations Shazza on the birth of your new baby grandson!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

*Ash*, I suspect the lack of mowing is to embrace the (rather silly, IMHO) “no mow May”….

I don’t. It may be pretending to pay lip service but bottom line is that it is a cost cutting exercise.
Same thing has happened in our village - until 3 days ago -and it is still May until the middle of next week. 🤪🤪

Good morning all from a bright, sunny North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today just gurding the loins before DD2 and co arrived tomorrow and a family party at DD1's house on Monday.

I approve of no mow may as it helps the pollinators.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good Morning Mick and all from a sunny Oxfordshire. I hope your back pain improves Mick and that you have a better day.
Thank you for your support yesterday, it was appreciated.
MissOops has Infectious Gastroenteritis, but she had an Oesophageal tear (which accounted for some of her extreme symptoms) the tear will heal on its own, she has had 4 drips in since Tuesday and has been in an isolation room. There are 4 other patients with the same problem and it seems that there is an increase in this ‘bug’ at the moment.
Anyway, the Dr said that she has to be able to eat and drink for 24 hours before she is allowed to come home, so 4 hours left, she seems to be able to sip fluids and has had some small snacks. So far so good.
We are waiting at home so that when we get the good news
( they really need the beds, so we are sure she will be coming out sometime early afternoon) we will go and collect her from a pick up point.
Basically if you aren’t at the JR car park by 7.45 am you won’t be able to park, so best for us to stay here.
Yesterday when we arrived in the Car Park, our car windows wouldn’t close, so MrOops had to stay in the car for an hour until they suddenly worked and closed. Phew!
2 close family members started their Chemo yesterday……..
Anyway enough of our problems.
.Gingster I hope your DD improves enough to go home very soon.
Have a good day everybody, at least the sun is shining.

Good morning from sunny Sefton which is forecast to last all day.
A successful shopping trip into town yesterday followed by a lovely catch up lunch with friends.
Off to a Wetlands Trust site this morning. Will meet up with DS2 & granddaughter. Hopefully there will be lots of downy ducklings.
Take care.

Good morning all from bright and sunny South Lanarkshire.

I hope your back feels better soon Mick.

We had an enjoyable afternoon on the beach yesterday with the two little ones. DS has some giant bubble making things made from thick string and wooden dowels which we had fun with, providing entertainment for all.

Work again today, I’m covering for annual leave again for the next fortnight but being very sensible about my capabilities.

Wishing everyone the best possible day.

Good morning all and it’s a bit overcast here in Essex. Hoping for sunshine later.

We took Dd to A and E yesterday as she was struggling. I’ve never seen so many people , all in varying states of discomfort.

I had to push Dd around in a wheelchair as she was in so much pain. I stayed with her for six hours until she was put in an area with a reclining chair and a drip for sickness and pain relief.
She was moved to the assessment room at midnight.
Hopefully find out more soon. 🤞. Thanks Marydoll for your support.

When I got home Dh had removed most of the decking on our patio. We thought there were mice nesting under there. DS1 will come this morning to give a hand and take the unwanted wood to the tip. Our builder neighbour will concrete it over for us.

Take it easy with your back Mick.
Enjoy your dinner with your son GM

Take care all 🌸

Good morning from cloudy Colchester. The sun is forecast to peep out later but only a high of 15° here.
Today's plans have been called off for various reasons so a pottering day instead.
Rest up Mick and love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a sunny Torbay.

It’s good to be home but disappointing to see the state of the park opposite my flat. Lack of regular mowing has caused it to look like a field! In nearly nine years of living here, I’ve never seen it look so unkempt. Emails to the council and our newly elected local councillors were quickly dispatched! (I know, First World problem….!)

Enjoy this beautiful sunshine, whatever you’ve planned! A good to be alive day! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from our holiday home in blue sky Devon.
Just having a quick look at posts before I get up. Some of the family are already having breakfast.
We have decided on a day ‘around camp’ as we all had difficult journeys yesterday. I believe DGS has ideas for a Sports day !!
Take away meal this evening and research places to go and things to do for the rest of the week.
Hope all those who are I’ll will soon improve and wish everyone a pleasant day.

Good morning from another clear, sun-promised day in Cornwall. So still and quiet apart from the birds. You'd never know the town centre is just over my rooftop. A visitor yesterday; an audacious, talkative, young black cat who ambled out of my flat as I went inside. Cheeky. More resting on my swing seat today, reading a book on Krakatoa by Simon Winchester, brilliant author. Take care Mick.

BlueBalou Sat 27-May-23 06:29:51

Good morning, another glorious sunny morning here on the hill in Wiltshire.
Not a lot happened yesterday but I loved sitting out in sun in the garden 🪴
Today I need to get everything ready before the family arrive and make a big vegetable lasagna and lemon cheesecake.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend x

Morning Mick, morning All. A bright start to our corner of Somerset

Garden pottering for me this morning, need to tame the ceanothus and plant some pots as well as 1001 other things. If it gets too warm in our very sheltered back garden I’ll enjoy a sit in the shade, Mr C is weary and will I think (hope) take it easy.

Hope your back pain improves mick, thinking of those with family worries. Enjoy what you can of the day everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 27-May-23 06:24:29

Morning from sunny S Hants, I hope your back improves Mick.
Watering out front in a minute before the sun moves there this afternoon, weekly newspaper to enjoy, a doing not much day.
Hope for improvements with those poorly.
Enjoy your day!!

Beechnut Sat 27-May-23 06:23:47

Good morning from a bright and sunny Severnside.

Major shopping trip yesterday to various places to buy things I wanted. Mostly successful but the cardigan doesn’t matter as I can order online. Slow progress in a couple of places traffic wise and not because of roadworks.

Out again this morning for a few hours and then home to potter in the garden and read.

Good wishes sent to those not feeling the best and their loved ones. Enjoy the sunshine 🌞👒🌺

NanaDana Sat 27-May-23 06:23:44

Good morning from a gloriously sunny bonny Berwick upon Tweed. Off later for a pleasant stroll with the pooches along the Elizabethan town walls, dropping into the old barracks square for an Arts and Crafts market. Loving this sunny weather. 20 degrees forecast here today, even on the North-east Coast. Enjoy your day.

grandMattie Sat 27-May-23 05:55:21

Good morning from Bristol on this glorious day.
What a shame, Mick. I hope your back gets better soon.
I had an empty yesterday and did very little, except some sorting out of paperwork in preparation for a (new) financial advisor visit in Tuesday. It feels sad as DH, having been a bank manager m used to deal with all that, understand the bills and apparently incomprehensible requests.
I’ve got quite a lot of shopping today. DS is coming to dinner. I shall use my birthday trolley…. It is very useful but needs getting used to.
I hope everyone has a happy weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

karmalady Sat 27-May-23 05:50:48

Good morning from me and the birds in s somerset. They are up early again. Warm and sunny all day today and just a breeze during the best time of the day for sitting out

Covid booster jab yesterday, sore arm today and I am being mindful of spending a couple of days just resting, once I am back from waitrose. I fully intend to get some nice things to have handy for this bank holiday weekend. I shall be leaving here at 7.30

I hope there is some better news from oops and that your back settles down Mick
