While we have DD1 staying with us, DD2 has ended up in hospital! She started off by tripping and falling about a week ago and was thought to have cracked a femur, fortunately it proved to be only soft tissue injuries but still painful and causing many problems as she is a carer for her husband.
As her leg started to settle down she had such a bad attack of pancreatitis that she has been hospitalised. She’s had several attacks before but for some reason they are usually in the Autumn, this seems to have come out of the blue.
As her sister lives nearby and usually walks the dog and visits if she is in hospital she is feeling somewhat isolated.

Just dropped into the kitchen with the good news that I have a new granddaughter born about an hour ago. All well.😊

My only disappointment was an extremely bad mobile phone connection throughout the day and I was getting worried messages from my D and GD and greetings from friends to which I couldn’t reply.
I got a message to my GD via her friend as my GD doesn’t do Facebook but couldn’t get my D.
I should say it is very unusual for either of them to express concern…
Their is little communication between the two, she is my S’s daughter.
I had a good evening with an excellent steak and the staff took some photos and then gave me a box of chocolates.
We shall be off in a couple of hours for the scooters again.

Belated Happy Birthday for yesterday AnnS...I had a vision of you and your friend whizzing along the front on your mobility scooters with big smiles on your faces as people jumped out of the way of two ladies on a mission. I know you won't have done that....🤣🤣🤣. I hope the steak came up to scratch too.
Corner....as with each of us when needed...we will all keep you and your family in our thoughts ( and prayers). ♥️

I realise just how lucky I am to still be able to travel ( and afford) and enjoy myself at my age.
It is not given to everyone.

We’ve had some very worrying news about our daughter in law today, she and her little family have tough times ahead, there are two very serious heart issues and a dangerous aneurism needing urgent but not yet emergency surgery. Same hospital. Same risk of cancellation.

It’s pull up the drawbridge time for me while I absorb and process, then I can be myself again and not squash the mood here.

In the meantime time take care of yourselves everyone, see you soon.

I’m exhausted after workout Wednesday at the gym, all good exercise though and it was good to see all my gym buddies. Then I spent the afternoon in Costa with my pal, we were chatting away for ages and the time went so quickly.

Thank you for the lovely holiday pictures Yia, I’ve been to those places you’ve mentioned and really liked them all. I found the history of Eyam fascinating and I enjoyed the original Bakewell pudding shop

Dear Soop, I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing depression just now. It is a normal, although upsetting, response to the sad situations you have encountered recently. Be gentle with yourself, sleep well, eat well, enjoy the outdoors, surround yourself with positive people...accept invitations...
This was the advice given, by her doctor, to my dear friend after a family bereavement. Hope it is useful?💕🙏

Jaxjacky, I know what you mean about medication! At the start of the pandemic I took two tablets daily...but now after a couple of health issues, I'm into double figures...well I suppose it beats the alternative 🤣

Yes Nannytopsy today is my birthday, how did I get to 86, I was 40ish yesterday.
I am in Llandudno with my friend across the road, it is going “ok”!!
We have had disability scooters today, what a difference they make to getting about, I have been further today than for several years under my own steam.
The weather has been kinder than we expected but very windy.
Looking forward to a steak for my birthday dinner.
