Have a lovely holiday SueD, I’m with you on the lists. Safe travels too
It’s been a much warmer day so far here in Inverness, the bedding is drying outside and I’ve mowed the back grass. Lunch stop now, I’ve grabbed the comfiest chair in the warm conservatory, DH wasn’t quick enough 🤣
Later we’re off to DD2s
Hoping your day is going ok with the two little chaps grandmabatty
Been missing you soop, hope the computer gremlins are soon sorted!
3rd in the quiz is good jax, you wouldn’t want me on your team I’m hopeless at general knowledge
Sometimes happens llfl so frustrating isn’t it …

soop Tue 04-Jul-23 12:50:25

Dear you lovely lot, the computer is still playing silly b's. Hence the recent absence. Mr Soop assures me that a replacement together with a new hub will shortly be with me.

Lovely photos from our Baggs and the lovely lady in the elegant outfit. Perfect!

Sorry to hear about your mishap, Ann. Gentle hugs from me to you.

Blossoming Mon 03-Jul-23 23:19:18

That sounds awful Annsixty I hope you’re feeding a little better flowers

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 03-Jul-23 22:20:56

My message just disappearedsad

Jaxjacky Mon 03-Jul-23 22:15:52

Lists are good SueD have the best holiday.
We came third.

SueDonim Mon 03-Jul-23 21:48:58

Ouff, Annsixty that sounds painful, to say the least. flowers

My girls and I are excited about the new season of World on Fire, Granmarie! Thank you for the holiday wishes, too.

Like GMbatty I survived the day out with the GC! We were outside looking at animals and it was blowing a hoolie. I just washed my hair this morning and all. 😫 GD mostly ran around looking for play equipment to play on and GS mostly wailed his way round because he was tired. His mother says it’s his own fault if he insists on getting up at 6am! 😂

I haven’t yet packed to go away tomorrow but I’ve written a list and that’s almost the same as actually packing, right? 👀

TOYA! Xxx

brook2704 Mon 03-Jul-23 21:25:36

Hi kitchen pals, it’s been a really cold day here in Inverness, I almost gave in and put the healing on but I managed with a blanket on the sofa instead
And breathe …. grandmabatty, I can imagine how tired you must be, you really are a super gran!
Sorry to hear about you tripping up annsixty, hope the bruises feel better soon
Apart from a quick trip to the gym this morning I’ve had a very lazy day which I think we needed, so nothing much to report
Lovely beach photos Llfl, your holiday sounds lovely
Always a handy stopping off point at a travelodge SueD especially on a long drive when you just need a bed
No pants under pjs here nannytopsy 😳
Happy Birthday to your DD Jax ! 🎉🎂🥂

Grannmarie Mon 03-Jul-23 20:15:48

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.

A day of sunshine and showers here but like you Blossoming, I managed to change the bedding and got it dried outside between showers.
Annsixty, sounds like you've given yourself a sore one, as we say up here. Good advice from Jaxjacky about your phone. I hope you feel more comfortable soon, take it easy for a few days.
Grandmabatty, well done for another day of entertaining childcare, I'm sure the wee boys had a great day. Relax and enjoy your evening.
Jaxjacky, happy birthday to your DD, your lunch sounds lovely. Good luck for your quiz!

I'm re- watching World on Fire, in preparation for the new season coming soon. I'd forgotten lots of it. Lesley Manville and Sean Bean are excellent.

Granddog and I have had a couple of wee walks, he's snoring now.

TOYA, NNGB.

Jaxjacky Mon 03-Jul-23 17:42:21

Go careful there ann and keep your mobile phone on you at all times, I hope you recover quickly.
Another one here topsy whose grandchildren had pants on under their nightclothes, I know not why.
I’ve been on the voluntary phone today, nicely interrupted by taking my daughter for her birthday lunch, with grandchildren as they had an inset day. Very pleasant it was too, she was suitable embarrassed by a chocolate brownie with candles served to her, 37, I can remember being that age.
Quiz tonight, we’re a man down, but will do our best.

Enjoy your evening all.

Grandmabatty Mon 03-Jul-23 17:36:36

We stand on a bridge looking at the traffic on the motorway. I'm not that foolhardy 😂

Grandmabatty Mon 03-Jul-23 17:35:36

Annsixty I'm sorry to hear that you fell and hurt yourself. Paracetamol needed.
I need a gin and tonic! It's the start of the summer holidays in Scotland. I took both boys to soft play this morning and spent most of it following dgs2 about. Then home for lunch. After lunch dgs2 went for a nap while dgs1 played with felt pens (what was I thinking?😱). After that we walked to the swings then walked to the motorway then finished off with playing in the garden. I am exhausted. The boys are not. 😂 Dd is visiting mum tonight which means I don't need to. Roast chicken for dinner before I have a gin. Have a good evening Kitcheners

annsixty Mon 03-Jul-23 16:47:54

A late Good Afternoon all.
It has been a very wet day here today.
It rained heavily this morning but the sun is struggling toget through just now.
I have a cautionary tale about stools Blossoming
On Saturday I had some storage boxes/bags delivered which I had bought online.
After lunch I started packing them with winter bedding, blankets fleeces etc.
I didn’t finish off as it was tiring and I left some things to finish later.
I went up after my meal and tripped over something on the floor, I fell heavily trying to land on the dressing table stool , missed and fell very hard on my btm.
I was alone in the house but managed to pull myself up and felt ok.
I woke up at 2am in real pain and could hardly move.
I have been taking strong painkillers since, I am still in a lot of discomfort.
I can stand and lie ok but sitting is very uncomfortable.
I had an appointment with the Physio at my GP surgery today but had to cancel, I was very shaken by it and only later thought just how serious it could have been.
So be careful all of you older , less able ones, we are not as indestructible as we like to think.
My GD has been very good and it was a good job it was this week as she goes to Barcelona on Thursday for 4 days.

Blossoming Mon 03-Jul-23 16:20:03

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It started off rainy, I stripped the bedding, and loaded the washer while the duvet aired. I got the clean duvet cover on and flipped the mattress over all by myself. I don’t know my own strength grin. Now enjoying a rest, the sun has just come out too late to dry the washing, I’ve already used the tumble dryer, damn!

Lovely pics LadyLFL, glad that the weather has cheered up for you.

I enjoyed quite a few of the Glastonbury acts Grandmabatty, Rick Astley was the highlight for me.

Enjoy your Cambridge trip Brook, I hope MrB continues to do well.

Hope you’ve enjoyed your day out with family SueD.

The step stool is a relatively high one Grannmarie as it’s the sort that you can sit on, if you know what I mean! I’m OK as long as I mind where I’m putting my feet but MrB gets twitchy if he catches me using it.

Have a lovely evening everyone, TOYA

Grannmarie Sun 02-Jul-23 21:48:20

Charleygirl, fingers crossed 🤞 for you tomorrow!

Charleygirl5 Sun 02-Jul-23 21:35:09

I am beginning to wonder what rain looks like as it appears to bypass where I live. My lawn will be a nasty brown colour soon.

I agree, knickers under pjs may be causing the problems.

Tomorrow is premium bond day again- somebody has to win the "big" money! £25 is helpful but it does not get me very far.

Grannmarie Sun 02-Jul-23 21:25:32

SueD, crossed posts, enjoy your trip down south, and your day out with your DD and DGC. It's a shame that the weather breaks down for the school holidays.

Grannmarie Sun 02-Jul-23 21:21:30

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people !🥰
A day of sunshine and heavy showers here, I was walking Granddog at 6a.m. this morning and it was lovely, but showery since. We've both had a wee nap since then!
Morning Mass, visiting the sick, then roast chicken dinner. DSis 2 joined us today, good to catch up with her.

Well done, Blossoming, standing on the top of your step stool. My balance is not great now, I don't go up the loft ladder any more, I wait for a visiting son to do that!
Brook, I hope you and MrB enjoy a quiet evening, you've had a lot on your plate lately.
Jaxjacky, hope you're feeling okay today. I had a month or so feeling dizzy and nauseous on my blood pressure tablets before it settled down.
Ladyleftfieldlover, I'm glad you enjoyed your day, super photos, I love a beach with sand dunes.
Grandmabatty, I'm still enjoying Glastonbury on catch up. I really enjoyed Rick Astley's Smith's set.
Nannytopsy, enjoy your time with the DGC. I think mine wore pants under PJs.
YiaYia, fingers crossed for tomorrow, I hope your survey goes well.

Granddog and I are resting on the sofa, he is very spoiled when he is here. Just hope he doesn't wake me at 10 to 6 again tomorrow!!
TOYA , NNGB.

SueDonim Sun 02-Jul-23 21:08:54

Happy travels to Cambridge, Brook! Hope MrB survives without you. grin

I hope that new computer is soon installed in your abode, Soop. Don’t you just want to chuck them out of the window when they misbehave?

That’s so difficult when meds make you feel ill, Jax. Dizziness is horrible. I had a couple of bouts of labyrinthitis in the past and it was truly awful!

That was an annoying delivery, Charlie. You wonder what their algorithms are thinking. 🤔

That’s very scary for your DIL, Corner. I hope she gets treated sooner rather than later.

Baggs those fawns! 😍 I’m glad your dd is doing well, long may that last.

You are stunning in that photo, Neine! I’m so glad you had such a wonderful day.

Lovely pics, LLFL.

Yes to the wearing of knickers under pj’s, Topsy. Odd.

We watched the Elton John set from Glastonbury while doing our exercises, GMbatty. It surely was a run-through of the last 50 years!

We saw our friend with dementia yesterday and he was on good form, all things considered. He doesn’t know who we are but he seemed happy to be the birthday boy. There are some poor souls in the home, though, very sad.

Today has been sunshine and showers again. I did a bit of impromptu tidying, in an effort to find my Historic Scotland card. The card has not surfaced but a cupboard has been tidied and I discovered that I have the card on the app on my phone so I’ll count that as a win. Dh hauled a couple of cases out of the garage so we can pack for our trip down south. I’ve booked a glamorous Travelodge on the M6 on the way down, to break the journey.

I watched some of the cricket - oh dear. England will really have to pull it out of the hat if they’re to win the series. At least I got some knitting done while watching.

Tomorrow I’m going out with dd and the children, as they’ve broken up now. Poor dd messaged me yesterday to say ‘it’s 10:30am on the second day of the holidays and everyone is crying. It’s going to be a long, hot summer’. 😂😂

TOYA. Xx

Nannytopsy Sun 02-Jul-23 20:08:43

Explaining not exposing!

Nannytopsy Sun 02-Jul-23 20:08:20

grandmabatty I thought that about the Elton John set too!
Thank you for exposing Baggs - I should have been able to work that out without troubling you. I’m sorry.
DH is upstairs putting the DGC to bed.
Do your DGC wear pants under pyjamas? DGS has one or two infections of “her bits” ( her words not mine!) and I wonder if being to warm all night might be a part of it. Now have school uniforms to iron.
Hope everyone has a good evening

Grandmabatty Sun 02-Jul-23 19:14:17

Good evening Kitcheners. Ladyleftfieldlover that looks like a lovely beach. Naughtie you looked stunning and the meal sounds so tasty. Brook definitely have a rest.
I got all the washing dried so I have to wield the iron soon. Dd called in with the boys earlier and dgs1 was thrilled because I had bought a watermelon. He's very fond of them.
Currently I'm watching Elton John at Glastonbury and loving it. It's a journey through my life. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 02-Jul-23 18:53:28

Hello kitchen people! We have had a good day. Lunch out was delicious. We then drove to a nearly deserted beach and had a wander around the sand dunes.
We will spend the day in Aberystwyth tomorrow. We have a list of things to do, including a trip on a train, a visit to the pier and maybe the National Library of Wales.

Jaxjacky Sun 02-Jul-23 18:07:23

Very magical having deer so close Baggs.
The pashmina just completed your outfit neine you look lovely.
I hope you’re having a better day llfl.
Today it’s been windy, scudding clouds and sun, I repotted some chilli plants and a bay tree, just watered, hopefully rain tomorrow.
Enjoy your evening all.

brook2704 Sun 02-Jul-23 17:55:12

Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s been a day of sunshine and showers here today, we’ve been in and out of the garden dodging the showers. We should have had the DGC for a sleepover tonight but their plans changed and that’s on hold for now. Probably for the best as much as I love them dearly, we’re both quite tired, DH still recovering from his knee replacement and me still recovering from looking after him 🤣
So pleased you enjoyed special family time with your DD baggs , gorgeous Bambi photos too
You look really gorgeous neine and the outfit is perfect. Pleased all went well but I can’t say I’d fancy the smoked eel though …
Hoping your holiday is going well now Llfl and you enjoyed Sunday lunch
Keeping everything crossed for tomorrow Yia
corner sending ❤️

Blossoming Sun 02-Jul-23 16:10:00

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s very quiet in here, I hope you are all enjoying Sunday seeing family or friends or other fun things.

Today I have done the rest of the laundry and got the clean bedding ready for tomorrow’s bed changing. This is more exciting than it sounds, as I have to stand on the top of the step stool to reach the top cupboard and it feels rather wobbly grin. Tomorrow’s aerobics session will be changing and washing the bedding, I lead such an exciting life!

It’s my birthday next weekend so we are planning some time out on the fells and a birthday lunch with my sister and family.

Haggis with carrots, neeps and tatties for dinner later.

Have a good evening all, big hugs to any poorly people [flower]
