Glad to hear from you Neine, this kitchen really is a special place. We would love to see your hats, any of those colours would work well.
It’s cooler here too Ann. I do love the heat but it’s been quite oppressive lately.
Keeping my fingers crossed for good news for Yia.

Welcome to you lovely lot. Enjoy the buffet and open the chilled Champagne. There are limitless treats for everyone.
Thank you for being truly good, supportive friends.
[sunshine} and much more besides.
Please put photos on Naughtyneine and we will give our opinion.
It is cloudy and much cooler here, I am so grateful, I like that other people welcome the heat but it has totally knocked me out.
I really have been fit for nothing.
If I said the house had been neglected because of it I would just be fibbing, the house is neglected because I am always too tired to do much.
My GD does her best but…
We had her friend staying all weekend, she has a very difficult life at the moment and has moved into her own flat but seems very lonely, she sees her Father occasionally but her mother has cut them all out and her sister is affected very badly by it all so is mostly “unavailable “
I want to help and do my best for her but quite frankly “it” and she, is very hard work.
Enough of that, hope poorlies and those caring get some relief soon and that you all have the best day you can.
Thank you to everyone who sent me such loving and supportive messages. Sitting in the kitchen writing my post was the best thing I could have done. I couldn't actually verbalise what I was feeling (and DOH and the friend who had to tell me were getting worried) but it all poured out to you in the safe knowledge that I'd be held safe (if only virtually) until I could come to terms with what had happened. I will always be grateful. X
I feel guilty too that I was so involved I didn't comment on anything that was happening with you all. I know you'll forgive me .
Yia... I've got everything crossed for you today and that the survey goes really well and you are soon in your new home.
Corner..the party sounds lovely....and Brooke your DGD sounds a poppet....
Grandmarie a happy time with lots of memories made I'm sure.
It really is so lovely to read about all your happy times with your children and Grandchildren. One day maybe I'll be able to write about mine.
Soop...I hope the drops work and that you get another chance to get the 'stuff' sold.
We have become good friends with a couple who also attended the instruction to be received into the Catholic church . He is a Catholic and like me was supporting his partner (wife). They have been married for 15 years but now she is a Catholic they can have a nuptial Mass ( his first marriage was not Catholic). They are to be married this Saturday and they have asked me to do the flowers for the church... It's a bit daunting but I'm looking forward to it too. White Lilies, cream freesias and yellow roses are the main flowers.
I haven't a clue where all my wedding hats went between moves so I went on a tour of the charity shops yesterday and now have 3. My dress is cream ...so the choice is black..Lilac or what I can only describe as a pale teal confection. DOH said we'll have a fashion show and see which looks best. ( Bless him...it's times like this that I know how blessed I am...my ex would have shown no interest whatsoever). I'll put pictures on if you'd like to see them.
Thank you again for your cherished friendship...how I'd love to be able to meet you all and say it in person. ♥️
Just been to choir and eaten a lovely curry cooked by DH while I was out. I was awake from 5 expecting the dogs who are staying with us to bark. Of course, they didn’t apart from a wuff at the bin men at 7. I shall be early to bed I think. Just watching Cat Stevens’ set from Glastonbury. His voice has worn well!
Sleep well everyone 💤
Hello Bellasnana and Carillion so nice to have you back with us.
No news yet I think the survey will be tomorrow so should know very soon.☘️
I enjoyed Elton last night lots of memories.I remember seeing him at Wembley many moons ago.
A bit cooler this evening hopefully a better sleep.
Sleep well dear Kitcheners.
Hello Bellasnana and Carillion !
Brook how lovely for your granddaughter. You are, quite rightly proud. Carrillion and bellasnana how lovely to hear from you both!
I'm exhausted. A long day with dgs2 who is struggling with his temper these days. He's not talking yet and gets very frustrated when we don't understand what he wants. We'll get there but it is tiring. Dgs1 and DD went to see mum yesterday and she did not engage with them at all. When I visited tonight, she couldn't even remember them visiting which is very worrying. I'm resting before tidying up the kitchen and an early night for me. Have a good evening Kitcheners
Hi kitchen pals, another lovely day here in Inverness. I’ve been to the gym and had a really good catch up with my friend, she’s just returned from holiday in Italy and was telling me all about her adventures.
Yesterdays dance show with DGD was so good, she did really well and all the family were very proud of her. When she came out at the end of the show she got big hugs from everyone and then had big tears streaming down her face, I think she was just overwhelmed with emotion of it all, I’ve never seen her like that before!
Hi 👋 bellasnana and Carillion so lovely to see you both here
Ladyleftfieldlover
Soop, that garden belongs to the restaurant where we had lunch the other day. It is in a beautiful village called Ardington which is between where we live and Reading. OH’s bee hives are in that village and it’s also where the art studio is where I made a stained glass garden ornament last year. Ardington is one of those typical English villages which I think Americans would drool over.
Ha! The pub at Ardington is one of my favourite places to eat!
The last meal I had out with friends, on the Friday before official Lock down was there.

Bellasnana It is a treat to have you back with us.
Carillion The feeling is mutual. Please linger longer.
I've spent a long time at the opticians. Had a scan and other stuff. Am to use some expensive eye drops for a week, after which, I return for a further check up.
Another sunny but fresher day. I continue to send supportive vibes to Neine. Am also hoping that Yia receives positive news...^Us lot^ are wanting to help her to celebrate.
Good evening all! We came in from the patio just in time for the Glastonbury Elton John set. It has brought a tear to my eye, as quite a few tracks were from Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, from my youth!
DH is happily dozing in the corner. This isn’t really his thing!
Sis I L’s dogs are with us but so far they have been well behaved. Let’s hope it lasts!
Hello dear kitcheners, a while since I’ve been able to ‘touch base’ but sending love to anyone who remembers me and indeed to all new friends. It’s a HOT and balmy night in France!!
soop, love you xxx
Evening all, I have been sooo lazy today, lunch in the garden (anti pasta platter) the weather has been glorious, just about to start cooking dinner.
Not sure if I have really bad hay fever or a dreaded summer cold, so I shall be watching Elton John at Glastonbury in bed later 🤣🤣🤣
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people! Shame about the car boot sale, Soop, but at least your 'stuff' is all organised and boxed up for the next time.
Neine, I'm thinking of you, God bless you and comfort you in your sorrow. There is good advice and loving support for you here in Soop's Kitchen.
Hello 👋, Bellasnana, great to see you. I think I saw Grandmafrench recently too, on another thread. I like how people can pop out for awhile, then return to a nice welcome. 🥰
YiaYia, fingers crossed 🤞 for your house survey.
I've had a lazy Sunday, unusual for me, a long lie reading in bed, late brunch, then early evening Mass. Taking it easy after all the excitement of DS1's 50th birthday celebrations yesterday. DDiL1 had organised a super garden party, in their huge garden overlooking the Firth of Forth. The sun shone all day, and everyone had a wonderful time. The Wee Boy had a ball playing with his cousins and their cousins! The First 50 years photobook that I had made as a keepsake ( labour of love, DSis2 helped me!) was very well received by DS1, and passed around the many guests as the afternoon turned to evening.
DH and I really enjoyed having all our sons, partners and grandchildren together, along with all my siblings and their families, it doesn't happen often. It was good to catch up with DDiL1's extended family too. We're very thankful. 🙏💕
TOYA . Enjoy your Sunday evening.
Good evening all. I am sticking my nose in to say I was thinking of you soop as I watched the final at Queens. I’m an Alcaraz fan as well. He’s magic to watch and seems to be such a lovely young man.
Looking forward to Wimbledon now!🎾🎾
Best wishes to all kitcheners and thinking especially of those of you facing illness and heartache.💐
Evening everyone, another hot day, no sign of rain here for days, sadly.
My brother and his wife called in from visiting a specialist nursery and we had a light lunch, he’d bought a carnivorous pitcher plant.
We called into our local for the meat draw, no luck, there’s a refreshing breeze outside now.
It’ll be a snacky, help yourself evening, too hot to cook and we’ve eaten something!
Enjoy your evening.
Good evening all, it’s been a hot and sultry day with thunder and sudden showers. We have been quite lazy, just pottering and pretending to be doing something productive! Cold chicken for tea, too hot to eat.
Neine I am thinking of you in your distress x

Got a bit of rain here now in Inverness, opposite to you soop, we had a dry sunny morning but a wet afternoon., hope there’s another car boot sale opportunity soon
We’re off soon to watch DGD in her dancing show at Eden court theatre. I’m really looking forward to seeing her and all her friends in the show, they’ve all worked really hard with hours and hours of practice.
I’d be a bit embarrassed too Llfl but hope you enjoyed the concert anyway 😀
Have a lovely evening all
Another sunny good afternoon, dear Kitcheners.
I spent an age preparing "stuff" to take with us to the village car boot sale that was due to start at one o'clock. It poured with rain all morning, we therefore decided not to attend but to keep the "stuff" until the next sale. At one-thirty precisely, the sky cleared and wall to wall sunshine moved in. By which time, we had packed the "stuff" and Mr Soop had taken it back into the loft.
So, instead of flogging "stuff", I forced myself to watch the tennis final at Queens. Alcaraz won. I am delighted. He has a very charming, smiley manner...and he's also extremely talented.
Llfl The garden in which you had coffee, is it yours? It is delightful.
dusty The mere sight of the temperature where you live, made me come over all faint and flustered.
Neine Many Kitcheners have given you some sound advice regarding the additional sadness you are being subjected to. Whatever you decide to do, do it with a good heart and refuse to be cowed. Head held high. Remain strong. Know that this lovely lot are with you in spirit.

Hello kitchen people! OH is sorting out bee things so I’m having a rest on the sofa. We were very late home last night. The concert (a night at the opera) in Bath Abbey was excellent. Not quite my thing but OH loved it as did the friends we went with. Slight embarrassment for me - I was at the end of the second row and the tenor came and stood beside me, his hand on my shoulder and sang an aria! I could feel my cheeks get redder and redder. Anyway, Bath is just over an hour from us so we didn’t feel the need to book a hotel. My daughter’s choir has a concert today in South London in the open air. She knows I find the heat difficult so wasn’t too sad I couldn’t go. I went to her last concert - indoors - in Pimlico. We are having chicken curry followed by strawberry crumble and ice-cream for dinner. A strange meal, but we like it. I do hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer. I have a small bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge for later.
It’s been another hot summer day here. Spent the afternoon out and about around the Marina, busy doing nothing. Tired and ready for bed now. Despite the heat I’m sleeping better than ever. Goodnight all TOYA.
It’s been too hot for me today, a bit of a cloudy start but temperatures reached about 28º this afternoon. Luckily I was sat in the hairdressers with air con and a fan working overtime. My hair is a bit shorter now and a much better colour
Good to see you back soop hope your computer behaves a bit better from now on. Could you get something easy to use like an iPad or tablet instead? Good to see sweetie pie back too 🐈⬛
I’m so sorry neine. Agree with you, it feels cruel.
Hope that survey is positive yia.
A full day at our grandsons birthday family garden party. He had such a good time while we cooked. With no stamina we were the first to leave, in mitigation we have the longest journey.
Food needed now. Enjoy your weekends everyone.
