Lovely garden pictures SueD, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you’ve had a really good day

Jaxjacky I have pm’d you 🏇

Jaxjacky Thu 22-Jun-23 18:49:45

Another quiet day, I’m keeping my head down until I’m comfortable straying far.
I should’ve asked you for the name of the horse GG13 this morning, I’m still interested please.
* SueD* lovely pictures, thank you.

Soop tells me she is having computer trouble again – no network coverage at all so buggeration-tastic. She misses you all!

SueDonim Thu 22-Jun-23 18:34:58

That’s excellent news, Yia! Keep us posted as to how it goes.

I got almost full marks at the dentist and didn’t get told off by the hygienist. She said my teeth/gums were the best she’d seen them. I don’t know what I’m doing differently, but I’ll take that. 👍

We then had lunch at a place that sells berries and also bought some of said berries. We topped off the afternoon at the NTS garden, which only serves coffee & cakes, hence lunch elsewhere. It was a lovely wander round and I bought a giant honeysuckle for a mere £21.50.

Just a couple of photos to brighten my post. Take care everyone. Xx

GrannyGravy13 Thu 22-Jun-23 18:30:24

Good news Yia

I am about to open a bottle of fizz to drink in the garden, one of my dearest friends had a horse running at Ascot today and it won 🏇 we are over the moon for her. Our AC are a fair few £’s richer, I so wish I had put money on it, but alas my Grandfather and Father were gambling men and it put me off.

Have a pleasant evening folks 🙋‍♀️🥂

brook2704 Thu 22-Jun-23 18:23:54

Yes what great news Yia so pleased for you, I hope everything goes smoothly from now on, the apartment sounds delightful
Another very warm sunny day here, I’ve been pottering in the garden all day and DH has been looking on ……
I got the front lawn mowed and half of the back, will finish the rest tomorrow. The back is split into 2 distinct halves either side of a path so it’s not as bad as it sounds!
It’s a store cupboard dinner tonight as I couldn’t be bothered to go out to Tesco. So vegetable biryani with salad it is , although I don’t think they really go together 🤣
Take it easy grandmabatty, hope the fan helps
Hope your back is much better soon hula, take care

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 22-Jun-23 16:43:33

Excellent news Yia!
I’d actually typed up quite a long missive but it disappeared! So in a nutshell: good day yesterday at the NPG. Back home in time for the WI meeting. A good speaker but would have been better if she had cut her talk by half and used fewer slides. Some of the older ladies were nodding off! I spent this morning doing WI admin and applying for an E-visa for my Australia trip. My previous visa expired. I’m popping round to see a friend this evening. She is waiting for the results of a biopsy. I think some of us have been there and got the teeshirtsad have a good evening.

Good evening dear Kitcheners. Another lovely sunny day, housework done, just need to bring the washing in later. We’re having cold chicken with baby potatoes that need using up and whatever we find in the fridge.

Such good news Yia, hope all goes smoothly and you’re soon settled in your new home. Glad you’re feeling better too SueD. Hope your back is better soon Hulahoop.

Have a peaceful evening everyone, TOYA 🍷to absent friends

Grandmabatty Thu 22-Jun-23 15:18:54

Yiayia excellent news! I'll cross everything that you will be in your new home soon. Hulahoop that's rotten for you.
Some gentle housework and gardening in Batty Towers. I have very achy feet and hands, a product of diabetes, I'm afraid, so I've been taking things easy. My new fan arrived and I foresee more comfortable nights ahead. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

hulahoop Thu 22-Jun-23 15:12:55

That's good news Yia hope survey ok. Nothing to report I hurt my back a couple of days ago ,it's very hard to get up and down,I seem to be having a spare of problems at the moment ,nothing compared to some ,

Jaxjacky Thu 22-Jun-23 14:43:15

Well, what happy news Yia I’ll briefly uncross my fingers, you can relax your shoulders a degree now.
You sound better SueD good, what a shame you couldn’t play with your lights!

Yiayia4 Thu 22-Jun-23 14:37:52

Good afternoon Kitcheners.Another very warm but muggy day here.
However a very good one for us.Our offer has been excepted so,all being well (we will get a survey done) we should be moving. It’s a very nice bright and spacious apartment with our own private terrace overlooking the gardens.Let’s hope it all goes through smoothly.🤞Thank you all for your kind thoughts. All I can say is I never want to do it again.🤣🤣

Thinking ofUrms. Have a good evening all.

Nannytopsy Wed 21-Jun-23 23:20:27

Just getting a politics fix by watching Peston, before I fall into bed. It’s been a busy day and hot and sticky with it. It might even be a night for the fan…
I hope you all get a good night despite the heat!

SueDonim Wed 21-Jun-23 20:48:50

Soop we need to do our wills & POA, too. Don’t need to change them but we need to update to our current address. It’s on my list but other things precede it. grin

I don’t think I’d be cleaning for two badly behaved dogs, Nannytopsy! Truly, you are a saint - I’d have said no. blush

LLFL I just want to ickle-tickle those cats! 😻

Finally, I’m feeling almost recovered today. I managed my PT workout without too much trouble, although my arms felt as though they had as much muscle as a piece of string at one point. I resumed our weekly dancing run with GD this afternoon. She was most solicitous as to my health and in acknowledgement, she didn’t argue today. 😂

An electrician came to do some work for us. I wanted a couple of outdoor sockets - he’s put in four as he says it’s as easy as doing two - and an outdoor light really for the winter when the bins need to be done. We’ve now got an all singing all dancing light that is motion activated, for which we can adjust the arc, three shades of light and something that can be adjusted to take into the amount of ambient street lighting. I just wanted a ‘Light on, light off’ light! grin Of course, it’s the shortest night so we won’t see it working for a while.

We have the joys of the dentist and her evil sidekick the hygienist tomorrow. To console ourselves we’re going to a National Trust garden afterwards, where I hope we’ll have lunch.

Have a peaceful evening, all. Xxx

brook2704 Wed 21-Jun-23 19:08:28

Mmmm fish finger sandwich sounds good GG13!

Blossoming Wed 21-Jun-23 19:00:08

Jax we have blackout linings on the bedroom curtains, they’re wonderful.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 21-Jun-23 18:59:59

Hi folks,

DH is out and I decided on a fish finger sandwich on granary bread with a lovely side salad. It’s been a busy and tiring day and that’s all I can be bothered to cook 🤣🤣

Will now try and catch up (I am always so behind)

Blossoming Wed 21-Jun-23 18:58:20

Good evening dear Kitcheners. After a few rainy days we are back to sunshine and heat again. Mr B has been pottering in the garden and I got on with a few chores. I didn’t manage a walk this afternoon and it’s too hot for indoor cycling. Tomorrow is another day grin. I have lost 3kgs of weight over the last 2 weeks, thanks to my rebellious gut! It is behaving OK at the moment and I’m being careful to keep it that way.

Have a pleasant evening all, hope any poorly grans and families are on the mend.

Jaxjacky Wed 21-Jun-23 18:56:24

Hi all, not much to report, good!
I have booked an appointment, at last, for someone to quote for a blackout blind in our bedroom, first sniff of sun and my eyes are open.
Watering tonight, yesterday’s shower has long dried out.
Enjoy your evening.

brook2704 Wed 21-Jun-23 18:25:49

Good evening kitchen pals, it’s been a mixed day weather wise, a few heavy showers and then really hot sunshine afterwards. I was at the gym this morning for a couple of classes and then moving things around in the garden this afternoon. My hay fever has been playing up quite a bit these last couple of days with really itchy stingy sore eyes and a stuffy nose. I feel like I need to close my eyes but then I just fall asleep!
Hope your DH finds his ideal mobility scooter grannmarie I’m sure it’ll make such a difference

Hellogirl1 Wed 21-Jun-23 17:18:47

Soop, I hope updating your wills isn`t too costly. I amended mine recently, and it cost me £132 including vat.

annsixty Wed 21-Jun-23 14:28:02

Good afternoon all.
It is raining here again after a very bright start for the longest day.
Rained hard, cleared up, rain again.
I have two speeds today, slow and stop after a bad night.
Salad tea though with salmon for me and marinated prawns for GD so I can relax.
Just had a tidy of the shower room and I am done now.
So many poorlies or looking after poorlies on GN generally.
It is the generation we live in I suppose.
I hope Yia and her H have good news soon, I can only try to imagine how unsettled they must feel.
Off to make a cup of tea and get my book.
Have the best rest of the day you can everyone.

Grannmarie Wed 21-Jun-23 14:25:57

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. Happy haircut, Soop!

We had our first rain in a long time yesterday evening, heavy, thundery showers. I love the 'after the rain ' freshness of the air. Arran Aromatics used to have a soaps and toiletries range of that name!

DH and I visited a couple of Mobility Centres yesterday, but didn't find quite what we were looking for. Back to the Internet!

Jaxjacky, I'm glad your appointment was reassuring and you started the new medication straight away. 👍

LLFL, Milo and Ripley are fine specimens, do they get on well?

Grandmabatty, enjoy your recovery day, you've certainly earned it! The Wee Boy is pretty much like your wee ones, on the go all the time. He'll sit down for a wee while with a magic 🖌 paintbook, I got him a 🦕 dinosaur one recently. Then he's up and out again! I wish I had some of his energy.

Nannytopsy, good luck with the visiting dogs! I'll soon have my Granddog for a fortnight when the DS1 family go on holiday.

I hope MrBrook is doing well and MrCorner gets his appointment soon.

Thinking of you all, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow. Take care!🥰🙏

Grandmabatty Wed 21-Jun-23 13:52:42

Soop that's a task I need to do but I've been putting off. I'm having a recovery day from childcare duties. Some pottering. My washing has done the Hokey Cokey, it's been in, out and shaking all about. We've had some sharp showers today. It's time to get moving and make a cuppa.
