Grannmarie how much he is enjoying that huge wide world.
I remember those days with deep affection.
My youngest GC is 12 and I haven’t seen him or his brother for a long time.
His elder brother who has now left home comes to see me regularly now he as able but…. I know I am not alone in this.

Another scorching day is forecast and I have an exciting day ahead, a very distant cousin who I met through doing my family tree is coming from Doncaster to see me.
We have only seen each other once, before Covid, when we met up in Manchester.
When we did we never stopped talking and have kept in touch by phone and email since.
At last he is making the journey to visit me here at my home.
So looking forward to it.
Have the best day you can everyone.

The Wee Boy on Nairn beach yesterday evening.

Grannmarie Mon 12-Jun-23 22:42:15

Thank you, Brook , they've sent photos this evening of the Wee Boy on the gorgeous beach, he had it all to himself!

annsixty Mon 12-Jun-23 21:59:05

Jaxjacky
I have missed you going to A&E I hope the problem they found is soon improved.
It must have been a shock to you, it sounds quite scary to start with.

brook2704 Mon 12-Jun-23 21:40:09

I’ll give your DS and family a wave grannmarie they’ll not be far away from me, hope they enjoy the gorgeous sandy beach and lots of Ice cream!

Grannmarie Mon 12-Jun-23 21:06:51

Hello 👋 Blossoming! I wonder if well have rain overnight? I need to water the garden now, just in case.

Grannmarie Mon 12-Jun-23 21:04:37

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people! 🥰

Well I've just come in from the garden, the forecast thundery showers have not ( yet) materialised, and my hair, which was blow dried and straightened this morning, now resembles Crystal Tipps'...oh, the humidity!
LLL, thank you for the LIIT, most welcome and appreciated. You must tell us more about your 21st, sounds intriguing?
Cheers, Annsixty, your very good health! You are looking lovely. I see you are a fan of polka dots, me too.
Jaxjacky, I'm so sorry to hear about your trip to A and E, and your diagnosis. Thank goodness you found out, and received appropriate medication. I hope you feel better soon.
Grandmabatty, I'm glad to hear that you are on the mend. Relax now after your childcare day, the poor wee boys will be wabbit and crabbit in this heat. We need a fresh breeze.
Brook, well done for getting your DH out and about already, he'll feel better for it.
Beautiful photos Nannytopsy, thank you.
YiaYia, I hope your second viewing went well. Is this a contender?
DS2, DDIL2 and the Wee Boy are away to Nairn this week, he is so excited about going to the caravan! I hope they have a great time.
Thinking of you all, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow. 💕🙏 NNGB.

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. Another scorcher here and still no rain. We could drive a few miles to the coast and be in the middle of torrential downpours but they keep passing us by. We’ve been pottering, very slowly and lazily! I’m glad you’re feeling better Grandmabatty and the dentist went OK Annsixty.

Have a good evening all, TOYA

annsixty Mon 12-Jun-23 19:39:02

I had chipped a corner of a back tooth, no decay just a chip missing.
My dentist smoothed it down and put some composite in it then polished it off.
That and a clean and polish, £70:70p.
I am fortunate enough to still have an excellent NHS dentist.
He perhaps should have trained as a vet.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 12-Jun-23 19:27:30

The Vet bill was over £300! But it included their 3-monthly de flea. I haven’t paid yet as their card reader thing was down - as was the Co-op next door. Lightening?

Jaxjacky Mon 12-Jun-23 19:10:48

That made me lol brook 🤣🤣

brook2704 Mon 12-Jun-23 18:54:43

Gorgeous photo ann thanks for sharing. I’m also a fan of the espresso martini!
A really hot day here too, I was at the gym first thing for a quick class and then I’ve been busy in the garden all afternoon. DH sat outside in the shade relaxing 😳. Jax I lasted until exactly half 4 this afternoon and then I couldn’t help it … the counting has definitely started, you were so right!
Pleased to hear you’re feeling much better grandmabatty
Thanks for the Long Island iced tea llfl just what’s needed. Hope the bill wasn’t too bad …

Jaxjacky Mon 12-Jun-23 18:30:18

My favourite annsixty espresso martini, cheers.
Busy day on the voluntary phone, I’ve a follow up hospital call next week, no response to request to see my GP, sigh.
Thank you for all of your good wishes.
Quiz later!
Awaiting news from Yia 🤞
Glad you’re feeling better Grandmabatty.
Very pretty Naanytopsy does Madam have a scent?
Have a good evening all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 12-Jun-23 17:53:17

What an interesting looking drink!

annsixty Mon 12-Jun-23 17:38:45

Maybe.."

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 12-Jun-23 17:35:35

I love Long Island Iced Tea because it doesn’t contain vodka. Since the shenanigans on my 21st, vodka cannot pass my lips.

Grandmabatty Mon 12-Jun-23 17:14:54

Ladyleftfieldlover I'll have a glass of long island iced tea once I'm back from visiting mum. I've just dropped off the boys. We stayed inside this afternoon as the heat was too much. A walk to Aldi in the morning and then the swings was just enough. Dgs1 was quite tearful tonight but the heat had got to him, I think. I'm much much better today, just a slightly dodgy eye. Cheese and onion quiche with salad for dinner. Annsixty I hope the visit to the dentist wasn't too painful. Nannytopsy what beautiful flowers. yiayia fingers crossed that you had a positive second viewing. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

annsixty Mon 12-Jun-23 17:10:07

Sorry it was a video and wouldn’t post.

annsixty Mon 12-Jun-23 17:09:24

Llfl Long Island iced tea is one of my favourite drinks, I have many!!but it is too hot even for me today.
I survived the dentist but was pleased to get home and lounge about in a cotton nightie.
I am fairly private inside my house and it’s too hot to venture into the garden.
I have some photos of me out on Friday evening but was too embarrassed to show as my GD always takes me with a glass in my hand.
However as I have confessed my weakness for a glass I will try to post one.
Have the best evening you can everyone,

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 12-Jun-23 16:21:49

Hello kitchen-people. It’s quiet in here today. Maybe we all need a glass of something long and cool. I took my cat Ripley to the Vet at 8 am. Under general anaesthetic she has had her teeth scaled and polished and one extraction. I have been told to collect her at 5 pm. I dread the bill! I booked our flights today for number 2 niece’s wedding which is happening near Toulouse in September. I’ve already booked my flight for number 3 niece’s wedding in Sydney in August. I still need to sort out an E-visa. It is so muggy today even though we’ve just had another bit of rain and thunder. Have a good evening. You’ll find jugs of Long Island Iced Tea on the kitchen table.

brook2704 Sun 11-Jun-23 22:03:12

Thanks for the photos nannytopsy isn’t it lovely being able to sit outside late into the evening, one of life’s simple pleasures

Hoping you manage to sleep ok with the heat ann and you feel a bit better tomorrow, take care 💐

annsixty Sun 11-Jun-23 21:34:48

It has been oppressively hot here today.
I have felt very unwell with it.
We had a brief thunderstorm this afternoon with torrential rain for a short time but it didn’t clear the air at all, left it more humid than ever.
I have the dentist tomorrow, as I feel now I shall have to force myself there.
Have the best night you can everyone, I am lying on top of my bed with the fan on.

Nannytopsy Sun 11-Jun-23 21:28:41

Glad mrB is doing well and that sueD is on the mend. I hope you are soon sorted Jax.
We are still sitting outside with after dinner coffee, waiting for the bats to show up. The swifts and blackbirds are entertaining us.
I am delighted to see this Iris and peony - I had forgotten what colours they were. The rose is Madam Alfred Carriere. She has really got going this year.
We are not due any of your lovely thunderstorms or rain. We shall have to water tomorrow.
Sleep tight all.

brook2704 Sun 11-Jun-23 19:03:05

Oh noJax I hope you’re feeling a bit better and you get some prompt treatment to sort the problem out, take it easy and look after yourself 💐
What exciting news nannytopsy, keeping everything crossed for you and your DD and family
Good to hear you’re feeling a bit better grandmabatty take care too
We’ve had a thunderstorm here this afternoon, the rain was torrential and I now realise we’ve got some serious gutter repairs to do as we had a waterfall at the side of the house! The garden really needed the rain though so I’m pleased about that
Mr Brook is doing fine thanks cornergran and all, he’s not in too much pain and is hobbling around on his crutches. Day 3 today, his leg still looks quite a bit swollen though. We got him in and out of the car earlier and we had a quick visit to DD2s, DGD gave him the biggest cuddle after she’d checked out the dressing on his leg and DGS just wanted to know when he’d be able to take him to football again.
Hang on in there Yia, I’m sure you’ll find somewhere soon but I appreciate how challenging it must be - a group hug is on its way x
Dinner is a quick salmon salad, and a large glass of wine for me…

Yiayia4 Sun 11-Jun-23 18:35:29

Evening everyone.Sorry to hear your news Jax please rest up and take care.💐
Nice hat Blossoming.

Hope your feeling better today Grandmabatty.

Trying to keep busy but feeling a bit low today. We just had a massive thunderstorm and it feels a bit cooler maybe that will help.
Second viewing on a bungalow tomorrow, looks promising but not getting too excited!!

Have a nice evening all and special thoughts to Urms.
