Good Morning Sunday 28th May 2023

Good morning all and it looks like a lovely start to the day.

Yesterday ds1 arrived to help his dad remove the rest of the decking, saw it up and take it to the tip. It took two loads in his large car.
He’s like a whirlwind, strong and fast. Me and Dh doddering around trying to help but were probably in his way. All done in 2 hours. 👍.
He then returned to take me to the hospital to visit Dd and then pick me up. Traffic and parking impossible! 😤. I said I could easily go on the bus but he insisted. He’s amazing but rather exhausting to be around 😢🥵😂.

Dd waiting for treatment (bank holiday weekend) not many staff on duty. She seemed a little more comfortable.

Little DGD was brought back from other nanny’s and her dad. They’d had her overnight and all day (makes a change) ! ! 😏.
She’d had a fun packed day though. She’s still fast asleep here now so must have been tired.

Shopping for teenage boy twins who are fending for themselves (😳😬) and I’ll bring washing back here.

We’ll take gd to visit her mum this afternoon. 🥵.
Oh to be at my seaside cottage and sit listening to the sea! 🥹.
Oh to be a mum/nana! ❤️

Yesterday was very quiet. I picked up the beach towels from M and S and then got a frame for the little mixed media piece I had done. I visited mum and she was much more talkative than she had been. The lovely health care assistant updated me on her progress yesterday and had done her hair again. She is very well cared for.
Today I must get food as there's no bread or milk etc. I shall spend time in the garden as I've been quite lazy so far. My summer house needs a sorting out too. Have a good day all

Glorious morning though there is definitely a breeze so will have to think about what to wear. Church this morning in the next village then this afternoon, a recital from the local handbell group and recorder players to raise money to repair an interesting tomb in our village church yard. It is that of the last person in England to be killed by a highwayman and the inscription has become unreadable. This evening sees the return of GD1 from her festival. She will need food, a bath and a good sleep!

Hope this lovely weather brings joy, even to those who will have an empty day. Sundays, especially on holiday weekends, can seem endless especially when the whole world seems to be having a good time without one being included.

Morning all from sun in S Hampshire, who’d have thought, a sunny BH and half term week.
My son and his partner are here for dinner later, cottage pie has been requested. I’ll water our friends allotment, put some more veg plants in my small garden bed and possibly flick some dust about indoors.

An appointment with a chiropractor normally sorted my backaches Mick. Yesterday DDtook DGS to Ripon’s theme park where they had an Alice in Wonderland theme DGS became star
struck when he metAlice, his fairy tale heroine of the moment. Dd brought him to to me after and we sat and watched the Alice in Wonderland DVD which he loves. Dgs is a 9year old with Down Syndrome

Good morning from a still, clear, breezy Cornwall where I will try very hard to behave today. Yesterday I did a tiny bit of shopping, desperate to go out but had to call paramedics later. They offered to take me back into hospital but I couldn't face the noisy nights, which I'm still recovering from. Sooooo, today I must sit around and be good, while my mind that still thinks it's aged 20 wants to get on with concreting and allotmenting, never mind shopping, and all those things I shouldn't be doing four days after my stents went in. The head paramedic's parting comment was, 'I think you're a bit of a scallywag, aren't you?' Seriously though I'm ashamed of wasting NHS time and money just because I can't sit still ('It's ok,' said the paramedic, 'we weren't busy, we were watching a Transformers movie at the station.') All the same, have slapped own wrists.

Good morning from a cloudier Co Durham. Been a while since I posted though I read your posts everyday. We usually do very little 😀.
Today is our 52nd wedding anniversary but we won’t be celebrating as we are decamping to DD2’s home to look after DGD and the grand dogs till Wednesday as her mum and dad are going on holiday for a week. On Wednesday dgd will be passed to her other grandma till Saturday. As dgd gets older it’s better for us to go to her home where her ‘stuff’ and friends are.
Hope those with illnesses and family members with illnesses get some relief. Belated greetings to those with birthdays I’ve missed. Have a good day one and all.

Good morning from the holiday house in Angus. Left home at 10am yesterday and arrived here at 4.30pm, bank holiday weekend traffic was awful.
Everything in the house is electronic, walk into a room and the lights switch on. GDs are loving the technology, touch control music even in the bathrooms.
Looking forward to some sightseeing, Glamis Castle is high on the list.

Good Morning all from an overcast S Yorks. Supposed to have one hour of rain but eve if there is its getting time to have to get the hose out on the garden.

Quakers today but I'm with you there Greyduster on weekends especially long ones.

Mick I have a back that gets twigged badly and agree about dosing yourself up so you don't stop moving completely, tho rest and icing needed too.

Its DGD1's birthday today. She's at the sea side and loves the water. She can hardly see, but is completely unafraid of the gentle waves, she's stay in there all morning if she could.

Good morning all from a duller North Leicestershire.

It was a beautiful day yesterday which I spent, mainly, sitting in the garden after a trip to Dunelm for new garden cushions.

DD2 and family are coming today for a couple of days. We have booked to go to a carvery in a local pub as the girls love them. The route includes crossing the main rail line via a metal footbridge. Hopefully at least one train will speed under the bridge as they cross.

Good morning from a sunny Torbay.

Late on parade after an evening out at a tiny (50 seater) theatre in Teignmouth. A friend from Toads was directing a very moving play called Two. It was his debut as a director (having been our techie for years) and it was excellent. Only two actors but they played about a dozen parts very convincingly. It was set in a pub and the evening began with a pub quiz in which the audience participated.

Back to church this morning after an absence of some weeks. A blessed Sunday whatever you’ve planned. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from a cloudy but brightening Colchester. Another warm dry day. The garden could do with a drop of overnight rain as there's been a good drying breeze too.
I have a large pile of DH's fishing clothes to wash, so I'm happy it's drying weather. Otherwise a relaxing Sunday with a roast chicken dinner.

Good morning Mick and all. Another sunny day here too. A busy day for us as we’re getting ready to go away for a few days tomorrow. I’m looking forward to seeing the sea and enjoying a change of scenery.

Mick, I do hope that you get on top of this pain. Back pain can originate in the bowel, so do get in touch with your GP if it’s troublesome. We’re great fans of wheatbags here. We pop one in the microwave and sit with it wrapped around painful areas. DFIL taught us that one 💗

Good morning from a sunny South Downs

Home after an incident filled holiday, but I think the morphine has worn off this morning, and I’m going to try a cup of tea and see how my stomach copes. I’ll start with a sip or two. But I feel normal which is good.

Today I will see how the garden has coped with a weeks neglect and water everywhere.

Try a salad of some sort for dinner - if my stomach has settled.

I just love this weather.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Lots of cloud around but the sun is trying to get its act together. One of my nephews called yesterday with his wife and their new grandson. He’s a jolly little fellow and didn’t mind in the least being jiggled about by some strange wizened old crone! It made a nice break in a day that would otherwise have been people-less. I’m starting to hate the weekends. I went for a walk yesterday evening. The lanes were heady with the scent of elderflowers.
I’ll do a bit more in the garden today.

We have booked a short break with our friends to Scarborough in October 3 of the 4 of us all reach 70 this year, and we wanted somewhere none of us had been to have booked the B&B voted twice best in the world it's featured on bargain loving Brits by the sea.
DiL and the boys are coming for lunch then there is a small party for the little girl of the Ukrainian family DiLs mother is hosting.

Good morning, another beautiful morning.
Yesterday was spent cooking then I sat in the garden for a while as DD, DS et al didn’t arrive until late afternoon/evening.
My neighbours are having a family get together, I have to say that the racket was overwhelming, 15 of them and it drove me indoors. I have no problem with people enjoying themselves but the noise started at 3 on Friday, 8 am yesterday and was still going on at 3 this morning. DH did ask them to pipe down but to no avail.

I fear it’s going to be all the bank holiday….
Grumpy guts here today, we’re going to have to all go out for the day 😵‍💫

Enjoyed tidying the garden yesterday, more today after a trip to the tip. If Mr C feels OK he’ll clean the patio.

Move about gently mick but do keep moving, if the back pain has a mechanical cause keeping still tends to make things worse. Totally understand your son being happier with a sat nav guiding him grandmattie especially if he’s not familiar with Bristol.

Thinking of everyone with worries, hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Morning all from Kew. I had a lovely day yesterday. Younger son and daughter came from South London and they enjoyed visiting their niece - and me! Elder son and his partner hope to be back from Norfolk by lunch time, depending on traffic. I can then drive back to West Oxfordshire. Apparently half of OH’s bees swarmed yesterday and he thinks he has lost his Queen. He never realised bee keeping could be so complicated! Have a good Sunday.

I use Google maps on my phone to get around an unfamiliar area gMattie . Even on foot.

Yesterday was non-stop here. Gala day and a visit from DD and the youngest DGC. DSiL offered to help move heavy things but I lacked the energy or mindset to accept his help!
They left with a load of seedlings. I always have spares.

Today nothing planned apart from a bit of gardening and the cinema tonight.
I must make up the spare bed for my NZ cousins who arrive on Tuesday.

Sorry about your poor back Mick. I hope the pain eases.

Good morning, beware the sun, my lower legs were burnt yesterday and are still red and hot. Same sun today. I shall have to be indoors in the shade

Nothing planned, except to continue spinning and reading and pottering. I intend a few restful days as covid booster needs to do its job and set me up

GM, same about not talking to a soul, like you I try not to dwell on it. My allotment was a great distraction but I handed it over to someone else, too far to travel since I moved

I understand about ds and satnav, this country has more and more cars and so fast too. My sister from australia was overwhelmed by the traffic these days. 20 million cars on the road yesterday and many going through somerset. I never did get to waitrose, due to a road closure caused by an accident at 7am
