Anyone else fed up with North Easterly wind flow?

I realise this will just be a comment that affects those of us who live in the East of England but is anyone else fed up and worn out with this constant north easterly wind. I’m putting the fire on every evening and still feeling I need to dress like winter during the day in spite of the sunshine! It’s starting to make me feel a bit depressed and I know if the wind changes direction and it gets too hot I’ll be complaining about that too 😂 but I’m just so cold all of the time! Anyone else fed up with it?

The NE wind as even had the audacity to penetrate all the way down to the SW of England to the (normally) balmy shores of South Devon. What cheek!

We found it just as troublesome in France when we recently stayed at DH's home near Le Mans.

We are in Shropshire, not far from the Welsh border and have had the cool wind nearly every day recently. DH really feels it as he takes blood thinners, he worked outside a lot before he retired and never felt the cold until he started on the blood thinners.

It’s very rare for us to have a prolonged period of better weather in the west than in the east, but we’re enjoying another beautiful morning in Wales today. It is still windy, but it’s not cold, and very few clouds.

Still windy in London - very blustery in the early hours but seems to have quietened a bit.

Today looks to be following the pattern of the past week, chilly overcast and windy in the morning followed by a warm sunny afternoon and evening - I hope so as off to a BBQ later sunshine

It’s another of the same today. Grey, windy , miserable, looks and feels more like winter. My tiny hands are frozen as is the rest of me.
Do I cave in and put the heating on? Trying not to as it doesn’t seem right but will keep that option open . Trying not to feel fed up, but this horrible weather seems to have been going on fir ages...while the rest of the country is hot and sunny. Not that I am jealous, oh yes, actually I am. wink

Just going to shut the French door!
I'm getting cool in my short-sleeved top.

(Sorry).

Even colder today feels like November got two hot water bottles tonight one on my knee and one at my back So fed up with it

Very warm and sunny here this afternoon after a grey, chilly morning.

The doors to the garden are still open but I can feel it getting slightly more chilly now.

Opening post is bang on the money. The cold win is both constant and unbelievable when you consider it’s now June 1st.
Not one morning that I can recollect this year where the high majority have been out in the mornings without needing to don a jacket.

Soon enough we won't be lighting the fireplace. Then people will complain to the heat - will have never been so hot etc. Things change!

I've put my vest back on GrammarGrandma 😀

Where's this wall to wall sunshine we were promised all over half-term? It's very grey here today and the wind was definitely chilly yesterday.

Same here in Witney. Got the summer clothes out on Sunday and now wearing vest, T-shirt and cardigan and have put the heater on in my garden office. Fed up is just right.

I'm south Norfolk and it's grey skies here again today. I have to say I don't mind that it's not roasting hot - my flat becomes an oven when it is - but I'd love the blue skies back. They lift my mood and walking the dog is much more pleasant as he bumbles along, happily sniffing the flowers. People seem happier when it's sunny, even if it's chilly.

Sunny with blue skies here in Brighton but today we have a strong cool wind as well..

It’s another grey and windy day here south of London. sad

Bridie22 Wed 31-May-23 09:12:50

Cold drizzle, grey and miserable again here on NE coast... so depressing .

I think it is the unvarying consistency of the wind and the weather this year that is so debilating.

Usually one of the features of British spring is the inconsistency of the weather, one day snow showers, the next day the temperature hits 20, 2 days rain and then a week of warm sunshine, but this year it has been cloudy, with little sunshine, and a cold ENE wind for months. The only thing that has changed is that it has stop raining.

We are British, we cannot cope with consistent weather!1

According to the Times photo page 12, yesterday was Britain’s hottest day this year. You lucky people in Stourport on Severn.

Like others we had to put the heating on last night, it’s cold in the E Midlands.

Foxygloves Wed 31-May-23 07:32:56

A fine drizzle here this morning too.
And we still have flaming June to come! 🔥 ☀️

Greenfinch Wed 31-May-23 07:28:09

I sympathise Quichette. I would much rather have our cooler and windy weather. Too hot and I can’t do a thing!

Quichette Wed 31-May-23 03:52:47

I find myself envying your cold wind. Temperatures in the US Midwest are in the 33 to 35 C range this week with humidity at 65 to 80% predicted. I have had to turn the air conditioning on.

Primrose53 Tue 30-May-23 20:56:57

Turned our heating back on tonight. I was cold in bed last night too. I am fed up with this weather too. We have had a few nice hot days in the last month but nowhere near enough and it has still not been warm enough to sit outside in the evenings.

M0nica Tue 30-May-23 20:39:22

I am wearing a summer dress - with a thermal vest underneath and a big thick cardigan on top, plus thermal socks

We had a trip into London today, planning a picnic beside the Thames next to the Houses of Parliament. It was so cold next to the river, we had to retreat and find somewhere a bit out of the wind. Even then it was a quick eat and go!

BlueBelle Tue 30-May-23 18:14:08

I m sitting here for the evening with my hot water bottle and thick winter cardy on
Bloody cold weather I m totally fed up with it, east East Anglia
