I realise this will just be a comment that affects those of us who live in the East of England but is anyone else fed up and worn out with this constant north easterly wind. I’m putting the fire on every evening and still feeling I need to dress like winter during the day in spite of the sunshine! It’s starting to make me feel a bit depressed and I know if the wind changes direction and it gets too hot I’ll be complaining about that too 😂 but I’m just so cold all of the time! Anyone else fed up with it?

Grim dark clouds hanging over us all the time.Never had to wear thick jumpers in June that I can remember. Very very depressing

I agree with everyone that thinks it has gone on for long enough!!! Love the sunny days when the skies are blue and cloudless, but when that cloud comes over and the continual breeze blows, it’s so cold!!! Got my heating back in today!

I live in the Highlands of Scotland, absolutely fed up with very strong cold winds from the West, for the past fortnight, today they eased up and it actually felt summery, obviously now the tide must hu turned and again it's very windy. Obviously not only England that are suffering from wind, excuse any pun!🤭🌬️

Definitely a chilly wind here in the north east of Scotland, but that fine by me, can’t stand the heat. 🥵

The weather doesn’t warm up properly until after the longest day. The earth and the oceans haven’t warmed up yet.

South Hampshire and I have changed from shorts to jeans and an anorak. Lovely in the sun but the wind is cutting. My fleece on my legs in the evening as well

Agree, I live in Essex and chill wind again today and hardly any sun. Still using my hot water bottle like others. It is a bit depressing to think that we are not far from the longest day! Fingers crossed for DD's wedding on Saturday which is in Sheffield.

Same here in Essex, it’s overcast today (the sun is trying to shine through)with a cold wind, but as soon as the wind stops it’s rather pleasant.

Believe it or not, Dartmoor is the same. It is warm in the sun when it drops but so cold when it blows...

Yes this cold wind is getti g me down too.
I was on the east coast recently and although the sun was out and sky blue it was really cold.
Dressing in layers is the order of the day!

We have lovely sunny days, but still the endless northerly winds. We are in Normandy.

Taichinan Tue 30-May-23 14:50:29

Not just the East of England nannysprout! Scotland gets it too!
It is a bit depressing, I agree, though not as bad as constant grey skies or fog, which we had over a few days the week before last. The thing about the weather is that it doesn't last (try telling me that when the pesky haar comes in and forgets to go out again!). It'll be raining next week 😉😢

OurKid1 Tue 30-May-23 14:23:46

It's the same right over here in the West too. Still it's a good drying washing day!

tigger Tue 30-May-23 14:12:11

It also affects the growing season, everything is slow.

You are very lucky to live there. Had a wonderful week last September staying near sea houses and the sun shone from day one. Beaches like you describe almost empty. Out dog just loved it as did we.

We've just come back from a week in France, just outside of Paris. Although it was mostly sunny, the wind was so cold that we had to wrap up there too.

We're quite high up in Shropshire and we catch the wind - it certainly hasn't been the "gentle breeze" the forecasters have predicted for the past few days. This morning early on was just plain cold, DH went out in a coat and hat! The sun is out now but it's still very windy. I've really had enough now!!

I am sick to death of this cold wind, I live in East Anglia. I would much prefer temperatures of 30 plus and never complain about hot dry summers,

Whatever the weather let's be thankful that we haven't had the awful floods like in Emilia Romagna where my daughter lives. Be grateful for small mercies!

I live in the Btecon Beacons, quite high up. The sunshine has been lovely but the wind has been cruel unless in a sheltered spot. Evenings have needed something warm to cover arms - had visitors who needed an electric fire on!!

We don't live near you, and fireplaces are still burning. To sit outside late we must use the garden heaters.

Chilly in North Norfolk near Cromer too with a bit of rain today and 13 deg brr .

SillyNanny321 Tue 30-May-23 12:30:35

It has been very chilly for ages now in Clacton! Go to see family in Colchester & not so bad being bit inland! Wondering if this is how summer will be & why with supposed Global Warming we have this nasty Northerly wind day after day? Really need some warmth & chance to stop wearing winter clothes!

Norah Tue 30-May-23 12:17:11

I'd prefer sun and a bit warmer. But the gardens are lovely, flowers blooming and veg growing. Brilliant eating homegrown.

Lookout01 Tue 30-May-23 12:16:37

We are fed up with this chilly north easterly wind too, here in the South, sun is plentiful and warm but when that sharp wind blows it's freezing! And strong enough to blow things away 😅
