Good Morning from a sunny Co Armagh
I left washing out on the line last night , it was too breezy to fight it ! Nice and calm now and washing is in and put away
I closed the vents in the greenhouse last night , the temperature has plummeted overnight but it was up to the 40s by/the time I got round to opening up , I’ll leave the vents open from now on , but everything looks good at the moment 🤞
Have the best bank holiday folks , love and prayers for the poorly and sad

Good Morning Bank Holiday Monday 29th May 2023
(49 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its another bright sunny start with some cloud here in brackley .
My back seems to have eased but when you look at it we have had chilly easterly winds allot just lately .
An easy day some housework , may do a shop?
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. It’s very hot already and not yet 10am. I think this will be another day of seeking shade and not doing anything much.
Happy Anniversary to you and your husband Ladyleftfieldlover 🥂
As always, wishing you all a good day, safe journey to all travelling and hope any poorlies are soon on the mend. 🌻
GD1 is here, recovering from a very good time at a local festival, but will have to wake her in a while if she is to catch train to London and thence to Suffolk to join her parents for a couple of days. So lovely to have her here as she is excellent company and a real breath of fresh air. Nothing else planned apart from bed changing ready for the next lot of overnighters next weekend.
Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton, set to clear by lunchtime though.
Enjoyed my film yesterday, it was soppy romantic comedy called 'Love Again', went down well with a glass of rose!
Must cut the back grass today, but apart from that, nothing else p!anned. Shall sit in the garden and read, hope to finish 'Hamnet'. Also have to keep my eye out for the Avon lady, who is due to deliver my order today at some time.
Happy anniversary, LLFL, have a lovely day.
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Another day in the dunes a stone’s throw away. So lucky to have them so close and my ashes will be scattered there (cheerful start to the day!😁) I’m doing a sketch a day to keep it going.
Sad news yesterday, the founder of our Tuesday music club and part time member of the ‘band’ I’m in, died in the night. He was a real character and battled on through bad health. He had “Do not resuscitate” tattooed on his chest and was always joking. I’m ‘on the desk’ tomorrow, but not sure what form the meeting will take. My singing “She’s comin’ round the Mountain’ with hat and poncho doesn’t seem appropriate…
My DD from the south is here and in a recovery position after a night catching up with old friends. I’m not sure what the day holds.
Lovely photos today and happy anniversary LLFL. Hope that bad back bu**ers off Mick.
MY sand dune 😁
Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull it’s a dull morning but some blue is peeping through the crowds.
Happy anniversary to Ladyleftfieldlover and your DH. 🎉
I’m enjoying seeing your pictures this morning.
My sister and brother in law left at half 8 this morning to drive back to Kent it’s been a lovely celebration weekend and it’s been great seeing everyone but my body is objecting to the different food and drink it’s not used to so I won’t be doing much today. I’m tired and my knee hurts from dancing at the party.
The new family in China leave hospital tomorrow but they have someone called an Ayi staying with them for a month to help with mummy and baby and help in the apartment. Son can go back to work. Baby is a poppet and doing very well.
Wishing everyone a lovely bank holiday. Thoughts to those struggling with illness and family worries. 🌻🌻
Oh dear, the summer of "76 I was expecting DS, in early July I was admitted to hospital with a problem and there I stayed until the end of September, so I missed the whole event.
Bluebalou - shades of Call the Midwife!
Good morning all. It's a sunny 10° on the Angus coast and the breeze doesn't seem to have picked up yet - but it will!
Glad your back is easing Mick.
We all remember that wonderful summer of '76, don't we! We had been posted back to Britain from Malta at the end of summer '75 (it was hotter at Brize Norton when we landed than it had been when we left Malta!) and then after a mild winter came that glorious summer. We were in the north of Scotland, but when we took the children to the park in Forres it was scorching and the spaces beneath the huge trees were crowded!
Lovely photo Llfl and happy anniversary 🍸💐🎉. What a pretty lady!
Had a lovely evening with DD yesterday and duly met her 'talking' car. It was so lovely to be able to sit and chat with her alone, just the two of us.
Today is to be quiet for me - no doubt looking for sit-ooteries in the shade! I can't think of anything pressing that has to be done - the towel wash is on and will have to be pegged out soon, but that's it.
Enjoy your Bank Holiday everyone and I do hope the poorly DDs continue to improve x
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday morning, I 'rested' by getting stuck into some boring admin. It always seems to take a lot longer to sort matters out online than you bargain for. I got involved with a chatbot with an IQ of less than zero, with no chance of speaking to an actual human on this or any other day, the other option was writing!
I thought AI was supposed to be making great advances....
It was a relief to be in the garden after lunch, planting out my dahlias and doing some general tidying up. I had found a runner bean plant with a mind of its own...it had started up the wrong support so I had carefully trained it round the one I wanted only to go out much later to find it had moved back to the one it preferred. More intelligent than the chatbot!
The hose had to come out in the evening, I have quite a few new plantings to take care of. That will be the case for a while, no rain in the forecast for the near future. No pleasing a gardener...
multi, way to live! And Gala you are showing me up!
Have a great day everyone.
Good morning all and it bright with a slight breeze here in Essex.
DS2 and family are at our seaside cottage for the weekend, so they will be @ble to water plants etc.
We took little gd to see her mum yesterday but we weren’t allowed to take her into the ward . No under 16’s allowed.🤔
The lovely make nurse in duty found chairs for us in a quiet area and Dd came out to us. She was chatty and loved seeing her little one. She now has a rash over her face. Could be allergic reaction to the meds. What next we say! They still are wondering what’s wrong. Each doctor she sees says something different. 😤. She’s really fed up now.
We’ll visit again today.
We might take gd to RHS Hyde Hall this morning. It’ll be busy but we’ll go early
Happy anniversary Llf. What a lovely pic. ❤️. We all seem to remember that 1976 hot, hot summer. I had two tiny boys and it was hard keeping them out of the sun.
Multi enjoy another cheeky one today. 🍹
Glad missoops is improving. They are such a worry aren’t they!
Hoping you all have a gentle day 🌸
.
Morning all
I have overslept, must have been all the fresh air in DS1’s garden yesterday.
Need to crack on with some washing today along with sorting through my summer clothes/shoes for our fly and flop trip to Cyprus.
Will now read the thread and drink my tea
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️🦩
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire. I had a day of being mostly on my feet yesterday and got overtired, but I didn’t sleep well at all last night and got up several times. Today I’m spending the day with DD as her menfolk are off to Wembley for some football thing. I think we are going to the Botanical Gardens but not sure yet. I think it will be very crowded today and would sooner have driven over to Chatsworth which will also be crowded but has far more space! Anyway, the plan is to take a picnic.
Happy Anniversary LLFL. I hope you have a lovely day. 🥂🍾. That was the year my sister and her family came down to Essex to stay with us. I was looking at the photos we took only last week. Happy days.
Have the best day you can, folks.
1976….I was a student midwife cycling around Swindon on a sit-up-and-beg bone-shaking bicycle with a basket on the front!
Happy Anniversary LLFL. In 76 we lived in Wokingham I had the great idea the DD1 could have her 4th birthday in the garden to save messing the house - no!! It was too hot, there was a pile of party dresses on the settee and the children played around the house in vests and pants!!
Good morning from the south west coast. Very windy here, almost like an autumn day. Must go and water my plants as the wind is drying them out. Then, off to explore a woodland walk.
Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.
Yesterday flew past. An early visit to the tip meant no queues, a quick shop visit had us sitting in their cafe waiting for the tills to open, then it was on to the garden pottering.
More of the same today. At some point I’ll be vacuuming a friends bungalow before it’s too warm, she’s non weight bearing post surgery. Planted a couple of tubs for her yesterday. Mr C will change the bed, pleased to be certain of drying outside.
Happy anniversary ladylfl. That summer I was trying to keep a very active toddler cool, a constant refrain of put your hat back on. It seems such a long while ago. He gives me sun advice now
.
Good to hear better news of your daughter oops My thoughts go to all poorly folk. Hope Monday is kind to us all
Good morning all from the Black country the wind has dropped but overcast at the moment.
Happy Anniversary LLFL 🥂🍾💐.
No plans will probably do the ironing then again something better may come along.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning all. Another lovely sunny day here in Sefton.
Was awake early yesterday so took advantage of a cool early morning. Washing on the line by 8, kitchen floor scrubbed - had been 50 shades of grey 😬 - chicken casserole prepped & cooked, & ironing pile demolished, visit to farm shop & supermarket. Relaxing with a coffee by 11. Phew! Probably be a wee while before that happens again.
A quiet day today I think. Maybe a quick visit to DS1 who has a birthday tomorrow if they are back from their weekend in London.
It's been a lovely warm Bank Holiday for a change, hope you've all been able to enjoy it.
A happy anniversary to Llf, enjoy your day. I also remember 1976, I was heavily pregnant with DD1.
Good morning from a sunny/cloudy Essex by the sea.
Yesterday was lovely, the wind had dropped and it was warm.
We had a drink at the yacht club then paid a visit to DH's eldest daughter with the rest of his family.
He is going back today to put up some lights for her. I am preparing for an air conditioning unit to be installed in our lounge tomorrow. An early start with scaffolding being put up at 08.00 am in the morning.
Nothing else planned for today.
Have a pleasant day everyone and hopefully the sun will shine wherever you are xxx
Good morning all from sunny and cool South Lanarkshire.
Happy anniversary Lll, lovely photo.
Work today, I’m going in to a messy start as when I left in Saturday evening I discovered piles of donations had been left outside the back door so I had to open up again to take them in. Sigh.
Wishing everyone the best day possible, enjoy the sunshine.
Morning from sunny S Hants, Happy Anniversary llfl it was a hot summer.
My son and partner came for dinner yesterday, always good to see them and today my daughter is off on holiday with a good friend, her first one in 17 years without the children.
No real plans today, out for a walk, but not going far and quiz tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩
Good morning everyone from a sunny Inverness with clear blue sky, should be a good day!
Happy Anniversary llfl 💐🥂❤️ and what a lovely picture, thanks for sharing your happy memories
The schools are open here today as usual as it’s not half term - we should be picking up the DGC later but this week I was called for Jury service. The system here is that you need to phone a helpline the evening before to see if you’re needed or not. So I phoned yesterday and a recorded message said not to go in but to wait for a phone call this morning with further instructions - will see what happens!
Thank goodness your DD is feeling a bit better Oops such a worry, thinking of Gingsters DD too
A lovely photo multi enjoy the sunshine in your garden!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
