Good afternoon from misty Michigan. It's 8.30 am here and we're enjoying a cuppa by the Lake. Signal is dodgy so I'll send pics later. Love to all 🦩 x

Marydoll I expect it's just picking up bugs from the nursery boy who likes to spread it around! GrannySomerset 💐 a friendship which lasted 75 years is a true friendship indeed. Dgs2 was not impressed with the park this morning. He was thoroughly miserable so I brought him home. A slice of toast on jam, a dose of Calpol as he's still coughing and a change of nappy and he's down for a nap. It was pretty cold out so I expect he was feeling chilly.

Good morning all. Here in Angus we are on the east side of the Great Divide (east being chilly and grey, west sunny and warm) and have seen no sun since glorious Saturday. Apparently the west is seeing the best of the weather and that is certainly borne out in your posts. It's certainly chilly here and my oodie is being worn again.
Sorry to hear about all the people in hospital because of transplant rejection.
Today DD's New Man's DS2 is, as I write, under the knife for a spinal correction (a la Princess Eugenie). It's a six hour operation, so very much a heart-in-mouth day for everyone. He's almost 18 and a very sporty young man.
Congratulations to your son LLfl, you must be very proud.
Grandmattie lovely to have your son here just now - just when you need him!
There are so many scams at the moment and your one sounds devilishly clever gingster. I had one the other day purporting to be about my M&S card. I don't usually answer the phone when I don't recognise the caller's number, but this time I was expecting a call from a friend with a new number ....... You had a lucky escape gingster.
Now I must be off as I am going with DGD3 to her school where she's to receive an award, we think possibly something to do with the Lifeguard qualification she gained recently. She doesn't want to go (boring) and I think now her exams are over school has been relegated to the past already and it's "Uni here I come"! Anyway we are under strict instructions from DD, so go we will. It's the last school thing ever for me after three children and five grandchildren so very much the end of an era. I'm not sure I like all these 'last times' which seem to be accumulating around me these days!
So anyway it's off to Perthshire this afternoon - hoping it's on the better side of the Great East-West Divide!
Have a good day everyone x

Morning from a grey chilly S Yorks. I hope the sun comes out later. Clothes to dry, and it's so cheering.

I had a good visit to super physio yesterday but then went and twigged my back in the evening! *od's Law. At least I know now what it is and how best to recover, but cant walk much for a day or so, so it's an indoor day. Nice counselling Zoom at 12.30.

Marydoll my smaller size trousers all went to the charity shop and I bought a set that's comfy. Bests to accept. I also have a collection of slightly larger tops and dresses from charity shops. Thats been fun.

Very bests for poorlies and sad news of poorlies. As a friend said ageing is not a wimps game. You just don't realise that when you are younger.

Enjoy outings and family!

Good morning all from cloudy Lancashire. The sun is beginning to break through and MrB and I are heading out to the coast for a walk.

Have a good day all 🌻🌻🌻

Good Morning from a slightly grey Co Armagh, such a change from yesterday’s unremitting sun
Granddaughter is being Confirmed this evening, I got a verbal invite , ( please come Gran , there’s plenty of room at the back of the Chapel ) . So I’ve been trying to find something in the wardrobe to wear , got out a smart blouse , but , as I was ironing , it reminded me that I’d worn it to same child’s First Communion! I hope people have short memories 🤣
Any way I’ll go early and light some candles

hollysteers Tue 06-Jun-23 09:47:43

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers (after days of sunshine) northwest coast.
Enjoyed lunchtime concert yesterday, old fashioned palm court style, then returned a top and bought casual trousers from M&S.
Nice face time with Dsister in the south, back from Bilbao which she liked and also her birthday and facetime with DD back from Mexico City (cabin crew) where she went ballooning. Looks scary. Everyone is coming and going.
Music club today and I’m going to have a warm up warble.
I now have a couple of slightly painful swollen joints in my left hand, so hello arthritis!

Thoughts to GrannySomerset, all poorlies and those with worries.

Marydoll Tue 06-Jun-23 09:42:56

Gwen, my friend had her transplant fifteen years ago and lived an almost normal life. She has a virus in her system, which resulted in her liver failing, all those years ago.
Unfortunately, the virus has raised it's ugly head again and is attacking her new liver, it's not a rejection. In January, her treatment was stopped.
However, she has defied all the odds and is out and about again and back on her medication.

She also attends the Edinburgh hospital and I hear they are a centre of excellence.
I hope your BIL improves.

luluaugust Tue 06-Jun-23 09:24:04

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Every day the sun has appeared around midday and I am hoping for the same today as DD is taking me out for NT visit. We rarely get time together for one reason and another so hope it goes well.
Granny Somerset these long friendships are very precious.
Gwenisgreat hoping for the best for your BIL I have a friend at my art group whose SIL is having similar treatment.
Very best wishes to all

Good morning everyone from a grey cloudy day here in Northampton; no sunshine forecast, so it will be like yesterday, cold and windy. However I managed to cut the back grass in the afternoon, and then finished my book, 550 pages over four days, not bad going!
I can now start on my library books. One of which I discovered I already had on my bookshelf, awaiting reading.

Health walk early afternoon, then a dentist appointment to replace a missing filling - this one has fallen out twice already this year,.so will see what the dentist says. Also have a decision to make about whether to sign up to a dental plan, as all patients in the practice had a letter last week announcing that they were going wholly private. So it's a case of sign up, pay-as-you-go, or be left with no dentist - NHS ones here are rarer than hens' teeth.

Wishing all a good day.

EkwaNimitee Tue 06-Jun-23 08:55:15

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. It may or may not clear up. I wish it would rain on my poor lawn but suspect it won't.
Yesterday was another hot one. My coffee morning was not a social success. The folk I'd previously chatted to were away and the remaining people obviously all knew each other well and didn't seem to notice little me! I didn't linger and got on with my shopping, remembering that I owed 2 birthday presents.
Today, a little housework and some sorting out of clothes and some admin plus more watering of the garden if it doesn't rain.

GrannySomerset, how lovely to have had a good friend for 75 years....

Wishing you all a good day...and some sun!

Sar53 Tue 06-Jun-23 08:53:29

Good morning from a cloudy Essex by the sea.
We left home this morning at 4.30 to drive to Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey so that DH could meet friends and motor up the Thames to Teddington. I have just driven back, the Dartford Crossing was busy but not too bad. I feel like I've done a day's work already.
We can see Sheppey across the Estuary but have to drive over 60 miles to get there !!!!!
I'll have my cup of tea and read through all the entries so far.
I have to visit the Post Office later and the chemist.
Have a great day everyone, I hope the sun shines wherever you may be xxx

Georgesgran Tue 06-Jun-23 08:43:31

Good morning from Durham. What a strange mix of weather. Here, yesterday’s glorious sunshine has been replaced by grey and cool today. Not sure it will burn off later.
Coffee this morning with a couple of friends - will use my M&S vouchers and buy a few essentials while I’m there. Picking up DD2’s little dog later, as she’s off to work in Edinburgh for a few days, so I’ll take him for a walk this evening.
Surprised you were nearly scammed Ginster but I guess you had other things on your mind.
I echo yesterday’s advice Mick to limit your activities prior to your surgery - you could pick something up, even just a cold, especially on public transport.
Enjoy a wee trip out Marydoll
Best wishes to all. X

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 06-Jun-23 08:41:15

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Marydoll my BIL is at present in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary receiving steroids to reverse his body rejecting his transplant liver. We are all praying that it works.
Today hope to go into town, then this afternoon I have the Tuesday Club- a church ladies group. We are saying farewell to one of my friends who is moving to Manchester to be near her family.
Have the best day possible folks

GrannySomerset Tue 06-Jun-23 08:32:23

Yesterday was a sad but satisfactory one when we said goodbye to my oldest friend at an entirely suitable memorial and in the evening scattered her ashes in a place she loved. Poignant but entirely right, the end of a friendship which lasted over 75 years and a gap in my life which will not be filled.

Home today so had better finish my little bit of packing and go for breakfast.

monk08 Tue 06-Jun-23 08:18:02

Good morning all from a dull Black country sun due later.
Late up this morning, bin men are on strike so no early wake up.
Ironing methinks today and then back to my new book I started yesterday.
Will read everyone's happenings after my cuppa 🍵.
Enjoy your Tuesday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Marydoll Tue 06-Jun-23 08:15:57

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 11°C, Ash we have had lovely, sunny weather for the last week here in Glasgow, so not only in Mizuna's neck of the woods..

Ginster, this a well known scam! I received an email in my diocesan email account, (which few people know about ) purporting to be from my parish priest, asking for £200 worth of vouchers.
When I read it properly, I noticed that the language was so flowery and full of religious quotes, ( not his syle) so alarm bells rang. I was initially fooled, because I had been emailing him, minutes before.
These scammers are very clever, the sender was blocked, the Diocean IT team alerted and I emailed everyone with a Diocean email account to warn them.
Once an IT co-ordinator, always one.😉

GMBatty, you seem to be catching so many bugs and no chance to rest, take care.
GM, enjoy the time with your son.

In the afternoon, lying in the conservatory dozing resting, I got the fright of my life, when I opened my eyes, to find a figure standing over me. I let out a scream and I actually felt my heart jump! 💔
DD had come in the front door, left unlocked by DH 🤬, who was showering after his golf outing.
It was an unexpected visit, but so lovely to see her. She worries about me, if I don't text.😍.
She of course, didn't leave empty handed, having raided the charity bags. I did another cull yesterday. How many pairs of white jeans, does someone need especially, when they don't fit! ? 😊
I am fooling myself in thinking I will lose weight. It ain't going to happen.

Today, DH has offered to take me for a run and lunch. We won't be going too far, since I'm struggling a wee bit,
Yesterday, I had a long, and upsetting chat with my friend, whose wife's liver transplant is failing. I could find no words of comfort. It's all so very sad.
He has been so supportive of her, but is struggling, which gave me an insight into the burden my own DH carries and how my life limits his.😢

If you are travelling, safe journey, if you are on holiday, enjoy and as always, thinking of all the poorlies.

brook2704 Tue 06-Jun-23 08:03:55

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cloudy start to the day but the sun is due out later
I think you’ve had a lucky escape there Gingster thank goodness you couldn’t actually get the gift cards.
Such a big day today for H Susan I hope all goes well and he has a great time!
We had a busy but enjoyable day yesterday looking after the DGC, today it’s our usual Tuesday routine helping out with after school activities and taking DGD to and from various classes. DH got a call saying his knee replacement surgery is planned for Thursday so not long to wait now.
A very well done to your DS llfl proud mum moment
Hope you get a nhs date soon grammaretto
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Jaxjacky Tue 06-Jun-23 08:03:26

Morning from sunny S Hants. Safe journey Oops and *Susan.
I’ve a couple of lifts to sort from the volunteer phone line yesterday and update my stats, after that domestic tasks and some gardening.
Our team won quiz last night, totally down to a team member who knows his airline livery.
Enjoy your day all 🦩🦩

Grammaretto Tue 06-Jun-23 07:55:17

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is overcast and cold. What happened!

I'm feeling unsettled as I would have had my eye surgery today had I not cancelled it in favour of a promised shorter wait for the NHS. Hmm

Your antics entertaining a grumpy toddler made me smile grandmabatty

Well done to your DS LLFL you must be proud.
Hoping everyone has a good day.

Greyduster Tue 06-Jun-23 07:50:54

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A dreary start to the South Yorkshire day. My itchy watery eye (one of them appears to have cleared up) is still giving problems. I have drops that I got from the supermarket over the weekend, but they are not having much effect, so I shall consult the pharmacist. I am cleaning the fifteen inside windows in the conservatory this morning while it’s cool. The other inside windows will be tackled as and when.
Have a good day, folks, whatever you are doing.

multicolourswapshop Tue 06-Jun-23 07:49:26

Good morning my friends from the beautiful east coast of Fife.

I went shopping yesterday with my carer to b&qs to buy a lawn sprinkler the weathers getting warmer and warmer I’m having my lawn cut today in time for my family and friends Bbq

Have a good day everyone

kittylester Tue 06-Jun-23 07:35:57

I agree, it is a scam. My brother was caught by it a while ago.

Anyway, good morning from a grey North Leicestershire. I have boosted the heating again - has the weather spotted that it is June?

Singing for Fun this morning which does what it says on the tin. Admin this afternoon.

DH's cold is nearly better now thankfully. I am not a very good nurse!

ginny Tue 06-Jun-23 07:31:42

Good morning all.
Ginster 99% sure the call is a scam. Please do not make any purchase.

We have smallest DGS her for a couple of hours this morning. A trip to the park and coffee I think.
Into MK this afternoon to change a couple of tops.
This evening an outing with the Flower club to a local garden.
This week is very busy.
Thinking of all who have illness or worries to contend with. A good day wished for everyone.

karmalady Tue 06-Jun-23 07:23:37
