I love our garden, eating summer food outside, wearing fewer clothes, reading a book in the dappled shade, watching everything grow and flourish, picking the homegrown veg,
not putting heating on and sleeping with the windows all open.

What do you love?

Everything about summer. The colours of the flowers and grasses. Warmth. Putting my boots away. Fresh fruit and veggies. Walks by the river.

Everyone seems happier in summer. smile

With you on all the above, Sago.

Sitting 'reading' with DH in the afternoons under the sun-umbrella; later on watching moon-rise with DH.

Washing my feet at the end of the day and rubbing in lavender cream to ensure good sleep.

*so often this reading involves one of us having eyes shut and mouth open ...

Wearing sandals! Entertaining, with eating & cuppas outside. Visiting gardens. Planting & growing in our garden. Seeing the birds & their young. Just the joy of nature....

Just being warm

I love summer. The long days, bees buzzing, children playing. Unfortunately my allergies do not and I’m stuck indoors with the windows shut, feeling very sorry for myself.

Summer always bring to mind the Porgy and Bess song, with the line “Summer time, and the living is easy”.

I enjoy walking the dog without having to put on heavy raincoat, hat, scarf and gloves. Also, long hours of daylight, and not having to switch on the heating.

Also, washing drying outside in a couple of hours, and not hanging round the house waiting to dry.

Roses blooming, long days and sunshine is a bonus!

What a welcoming, positive post Sago. I love everything that you do, plus the fragrance of my beautiful Philadelphus, Roses and herbs as soon as I come out of my back door. Sitting in the garden watching and listening to the birds and hearing the buzz of bees on my wildlife friendly plants. Bliss after the long, dark, wet days of Winter. 😊

And the roses!!! So beautiful this year.

Yes, our roses are quite amazing this year, the best I can remember. And there is so much fruit on the trees, just have to hope it doesn't all fall off during this hot spell.

I put cotton sheets and a big duvet cover out to dry yesterday afternoon and they were dry within the hour in the lovely warm breeze at the seaside.

Sitting out with my DH in the garden. It’s so heavenly with the warm sunshine. Enjoying a glass of wine and an ice lolly. Looking at our beautiful flowers. I just feel more positive in the sunshine. Wondering what I can flavour the pork ribs with for the bbq tonight. I love everything about summer just not the hot clammy nights.

Love everything about summer...bees galore on my cottage garden plants, warmth,so many hours of light, practically live in the garden...right now our 10month old cocker spaniel is kissing one of the horses that is leaning over the fence...birds are singing, beautiful shaped fluffy clouds in the bluest sky....slightest of breezes...glass of wine calling.....Wonderful.....lifes very real problems seem easier to cope with..🌻🌻🌻

Yes, I like summer if and when it is as it is this year - warm, sunny and no rain. But I would like it a bit hotter than it is right now, Twenty-something centigrade is not hot to me.

I was born in the middle of January, in wartime. My birthday is nearly February, which is the beginning of spring, which is nearly summer, at last! HOORAY! I love everything about summer, long days, warm weather, childhood memories of picnics, trips to Cornwall, days on the river cycling, swimming, picking fruit, shelling peas. Such happy days, even after all these years, I just love summer.

Love the long days, here in the far north of Scotland it's light nearly all night, makes up for the long dark days of winter. Lovely to just be in tee shirts and shorts for a change and not having to wear several layers!! The birds singing and everything flourishing is a great pick me up, does the soul good.

Two of the favourite things that I love about summer …..I love heading out to the gym early morning just in my workout clothes and not bothering about grabbing a coat. And I also love pottering around in the garden in the warm evenings…..a little watering, a little weeding and not hurrying to go back indoors until it’s practically dark!

Sun cheers. Long days full of light. Light clothes. What I've been waiting for all the long winter.
Yes, tend to sit out on the shade or indoors now looking out but the looking out on sun on the garden and out and about - and the heat relaxes me as it slows me down no bad thing.
