I never drink water from the bathroom tap, always straighten pictures in the house and like GrandMattie I have to sit on my hands in other places if they have squint pictures. The volume of Alexa, the radio and the tv have to be on odd numbers. When hanging out washing, all pegs had to match colours and, if possible, match the colour of the item of clothing. I gave that up and bought wooden pegs!

I have lots of silly habits, most of them to do with counting and symmetry.
I count my garden steps many times a day whilst sitting indoors on the sofa, I know there are 15! I also count the bathroom tiles every time I lie in the bath.
When I remove eggs from their box I have to leave the remainder in a symmetrical pattern. When I eat them on toast I always cut it into 9 equal squares. I cringe if I see somebody bite or cut a corner off!
My meals are always dished up with the different components in a particular area.
I used to 'stress' about matching clothes pegs until I ditched them and bought all the same colour.
I like things in their place but don't care if they are thick with dust! smile

I have to colour match the clothes pegs when hanging washing out.

grandMattie

I can’t bear crooked pictures. I have to sit on my hands when visiting.
I stretch my left Achilles tendon when cleaning my teeth…
Being quite eccentric, I can’t really figure out what’s odd behaviour.

True story . OH and I went out for lunch with our U3A group. I too have a thing about crooked pictures. Well, the picture near me in the restaurant was lopsided. I reached across to straighten it. It fell off the wall, smashed onto the table and shattered glass ended up in my neighbour’s pudding. His wine glass was broken too. I’d probably do it again.

Standing on one leg or doing leg exercises are recommended for health reasons I think. I sing to my Goldfish when changing their water in order to keep them calm. I eat the chocolate off a Crunchie Bar before devouring the centre.

I have my cushions square on as well Sago
Need to have an extra book on my bedside table in case I finish the original one too quickly
I recently bought an electric toothbrush and now find myself closing my eyes when I clean my teeth- why ?
The dogs have to use the leads which match their collars, I don't like it when my husband doesn't bother.

Going to stop now, I'm sounding odd even to myself. smile

I hope I’m not alone in having strange habits and rituals.

Please add your own quickly and don’t leave me feeling exposed and crazy!!!!

Here goes;

I pull my jaw down and make the most ridiculous face when applying mascara, I say a prayer as I put a cake in the oven, I cannot drink water from an upstairs tap, I stand in one leg when I brush my teeth, I have to sleep with a handkerchief under my pillow, cushions placed at a ā€œjaunty angleā€ stress me out, they have to be square on.

There are more but I don’t want to become the completely nutty G netter!

Your turn.
