Good morning from a cloudy Sefton where it is 17 degrees already with a promised high of 26 🥵 & thunderstorms. A day of skulking in the shade doing very little in between singing group, hair appointment & thunderstorms. Cannot cope with heat these days.
Best wishes Mick for a successful procedure & safe journey for olddududders.

Good morning.
DH has gone off early to a charity golf day so I have enjoyed a cup of tea and and checked my diary for the week.
This morning is WI knitting group and a short babysitting session early evening.
Hoping to do some art work this week.

Thinking of Mick and others with health issues.
Hope today is a good one for all.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 12-Jun-23 07:25:40

Good morning from a cloudy South Downs.

Good luck today mick we will all be looking for your post - post operation as it were😀.

I’ve had a pain filled night with little sleep. Gallbladder - so will be taking it easy today and hopefully some sleep. Roll on my operation! I’ve just taken some buscapan to see if that helps, otherwise it is 30 msg of codeine phosphate plus 2x 500 msg of paracetamol which barely touches it.

Right- get a grip and stop moaning!!

Nothing planned today🙂 nothing to eat.

Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Mon 12-Jun-23 07:25:05

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Hoping all goes well for you today Mick.
Yesterday was very hot and we had thunder in the evening but not a drop of rain. Today is set to be just as hot. I have to strain and bottle my elderflower cordial later today. It smells absolutely wonderful even at this stage. The rest of the day will be spent shifting dust and doing laundry.
Hope Olddudders has a good journey home, Ash.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from warm but dullish South Lanarkshire.

We had a couple of monsoon like showers yesterday evening but my neighbour must have missed them as she put out the sprinkler shortly afterwards.

Good luck today Mick, I’ll be thinking of you.

My colleague returns from annual leave today so the pressure is off me. I’ll go in after a telephone appointment with my haematologist. No exact time given, just a three hour slot which isn’t very convenient.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day especially all those with illness or worries.

cornergran Mon 12-Jun-23 07:22:12

Morning All. A hazy start to our corner of Somerset. Just a few spots of very dirty rain yesterday. Very dry out there.

Hope all goes well mick and you’ll soon be back with us.

Some catching up with my list yesterday, a long chat with our worried goddaughter, some emails and messages making me smile and the day whizzed past.

Back to the list this morning. I will get to the end! Mr C will change the bedding then he’ll be back to a jigsaw, energy is limited for him.

Safe travels to your husband ash and anyone else in the move. Have the best day you can everyone.

Jaxjacky Mon 12-Jun-23 07:13:58

Morning all, 15 and high cloud. Best of luck today Mick.
We spent a warm Sunday morning in A&E where I was diagnosed with a clot on each lung, now on blood thinners, NHS brilliant as usual.
Voluntary phones today, bit of dust moving and quiz tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

NanKate Mon 12-Jun-23 07:01:02

Best of luck Mick for your hospital procedure. We are left in safe hands with grandMattie.

We are meeting up in the Cotswolds with my oldest friends today, we have known each other since I was 16, 60 years ago! There will be lots of laughter and reminiscing. 😀

BlueSapphire Mon 12-Jun-23 06:59:57

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, currently 18° outside, but forecast to be 25 this afternoon. Also thundery showers.
Yesterday we had.very black skies late afternoon, heavy with rain, but we got none, just a few claps of thunder. I sat in the shade and read all afternoon, first the Sunday paper, then started my new book.

Yoga first thing, then home where I am planning on changing my duvet for the summer weight one. When DH was here we used a summer weight all year round, but on my own I feel I need the warmth of a heavier one during the cooler months.

Hope all goes well for you today, Mick.

Gingster Mon 12-Jun-23 06:59:16

Good morning all and another hot one on the cards.

Yesterday was very warm and we stayed indoors . Dd and little DGD came for lunch although Dd didn’t eat a thing. She seems a little better but this seems a long road to recovery. Our town had their yearly Trinity Fayre and hundreds of people turned up. Too hot for us to walk up and have a look. Gd went swimming instead which she enjoyed more.

Today I’ll take her to school - other granny picking up later. I have my Chimes group this morning (always good for a laugh), and then I’ll visit my friend who has cellulitis. I’ll take some pastries in and have a cuppa with her. Her Dh has Parkinson’s so they are in dire straights. Her DD’s are very supportive but both work full time.

Mick best wishes for today 🤞.
Ash safe journey for olddudders
Karma my Dh will eat anything except for cucumber and GOOSEBERRIES. He went for tea with a friend when he was 10 yrs old and had gooseberry crumble and was ill . If anyone even mention the G word he turns a paler shade of white. Consequently we never have them.

Enjoy the day and keep cool 🌞

kittylester Mon 12-Jun-23 06:56:17

Good morning all from a muggy North Leicestershire.

Yesterday, we did very little as it was so hot and there was nothing pressing.

Today, DH is off to the gym (thankfully, air conditioned) and the gardener is coming - earlier that usual to avoid the heat.

This afternoon I am volunteering on a Carer's course.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 12-Jun-23 06:49:37

Wishing Mick all the best for his op. Safe travels, Mr Ash

Susan56 Mon 12-Jun-23 06:39:51

Good morning from Retford.

Wishing you all the best for today Mick and hope you are back very soon.

Yesterday we visited Sherwood Forest. It was so hot though so the journey was uncomfortable.Today we will travel on to Norfolk.

Wishing olddudders a safe journey.

I hope Marydoll is feeling better today🤞🏻💐Thoughts with all unwell and to those unwell or worried about family members.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩🌺

Ali23 Mon 12-Jun-23 06:30:42

Good morning Mick and everyone. A hot day here yesterday. I was thankful to be indoors in a barn as i was manning a fundraising stall at an open farm day. We heard thunder yesterday evening and had literally a few drops of rain. Same again today I think.

Mick, take care and good luck with the op. I’m looking forward to hearing from you when you are back with us.

Grandmabatty Mon 12-Jun-23 06:27:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and dry but cloudy. Mick all the best for your surgery. Ash I'm the same as your husband when I have a long day ahead or a particularly early start. Good luck on his journey. Karmalady gooseberry ice cream sounds very nice.
Yesterday was another quiet day just pottering around the house and garden.
Up early for childcare today. I'm not sure what dgs2 and I will get up to. Definitely a walk to the swings will be included. Have a good day all

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 12-Jun-23 06:23:23

Morning all from a muggy West Oxfordshire. Best wishes for today Mick. See you on the other side. I have to be up fairly soon. Ripley my tabby cat is having a trip to the vet at 8.15 am, for a tooth clean and possible extraction (s). All under general anaesthetic. A large bill I fear! While she is at the vet I will pop into Waitrose for a weekly shop and then pop round to a friend’s for a craft afternoon. At some point I’ll get a call from the vet to collect Ripley. I bought a beautiful limited edition print yesterday so need to choose a frame. Have a good day.

Allsorts Mon 12-Jun-23 06:22:00

Good morning Karmalady, your gooseberries sound wonderful, I have a lovely healthy gooseberry bush, but never seen a gooseberry, it just adds greenery to the garden I’m afraid.
Good luck Mick.
Torrential rain and storms in the
midlands, but it’s very fresh today and has washed all the garden furniture, even my sun lounger which isn’t waterproof.

RosesandLilac Mon 12-Jun-23 06:15:53

Good morning from south Gloucestershire where it feels a little fresher thankfully.
Yesterday was so horribly humid, the few minutes of light rain late morning did nothing but ramp up the humidity and barely dampen the ground.
The early dog walk, despite keeping to the shade, left me dripping in sweat. I was fit for nothing but flopping all afternoon.
Today is art in a barn near here with a friend then sorting out things for a few days away at the end of the week.
I hope all goes well Mick

Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

karmalady Mon 12-Jun-23 06:02:40

A big day for you Mick and all the very best

A white sky all day today in s somerset, no rain here at all

Lots of gooseberries picked yesterday and I sat with two big bowls on my lap being grateful for strong nails as I whizzed through the topping and tailing. It would have taken forever with a knife. Last bottling session is later this morning

I made the most yummy ice cream yesterday, no sugar, squished raspberries and blackberries in conc apple juice, greek yoghurt, vanilla and double cream. This time I decided to put it into small pots (baby size) and that worked very well. My maker is a gaggia gelatiera that is 39 years old. So precious to me, I carried it myself during house removals and it is still going strong, a big heavy sturdy beast which freezes while churning.

My first ever ice cream was rocky road, which the AC still remember. I am thinking that gooseberries would make delicious ice cream too

All the doors and windows are open and 2 fans on, I want the airflow, it is working, inside temperature is down 1 degree so far. A very hot day tomorrow

Have a lovely day

Bigred18 Mon 12-Jun-23 05:42:31

Michael, very best wishes from Sydney.

Ashcombe Mon 12-Jun-23 05:25:56

Thank you for offering to open up whilst Mick is in hospital, grandMattie; it really helps if we know that is taken care of.

Ashcombe Mon 12-Jun-23 05:24:02

Good morning from an overcast Torbay where it has remained very warm all night with the temperature being no lower than 15 degrees.

We shall be thinking of you, Mick, and look forward to hearing reports of your progress. Very best wishes to you.

Poor DH has been awake for several hours as often happens on the night preceding a day of travel. We have to be up early for him to catch a 7.30 train from Newton Abbot on the first leg of his journey back to his home in France.

Enjoy your relaxing day, Oopsadaisy1! I hope the locksmith can sort out the problem.

Wishing you all a good week. Keep cool! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩
