Good morning from Bristol. It looks clear outside.
We have had probably 0.5mm of rain over the last couple of days, not enough to make a difference.
Still nothing from Mick, I hope all is going well with him,
Yesterday was quiet, church ok but not very interesting sermon.
The OT reading did make me think though. It was the story of Abraham and the angels predicting Sarah’s pregnancy. Abraham not only kills the ā€œfatted calfā€ for his visitors, but gives them ā€œmilk and curdsā€ at the same time. The strict Jewish laws about not mixing meat and dairy had obviously not been made yet!
Quiet day, yesterday and today. I’m expecting the courier with my sewing machine parts at some stage. My upstairs neighbour has offered to include me in her supermarket run. But she’s been unwell, so I don’t know if it’ll happen.
May all the poorlies in your hearts have a quiet day tomorrow.

Morrisons sell it too, Nannagarra. I am currently drinking my home made elderflower cordial with ice cubes and sparkling water. Delicious!

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 19-Jun-23 11:26:06

Cooler here. Rain forecast for the afternoon. Hope it stays away. Dgd was dropped off as usual for breakfast and walk to school, accompanied by two dogs and two ā€˜bags for life’ full of washing to be hung out to dry !! DD2, SiL and dgd have been camping over the weekend.
Thoughts, as always, with Urms and Kalu ans all with worries. I do hope mick is ok.

Good morning. Rain at last here overnight bringing some relief. Today’s plan is to drop off at the charity shop and visit the dump. We’ll have coffee in our favourite cafe which was too busy at the weekend. Tourists are back in huge numbers which is excellent for businesses.
Marydoll it is a problem revisiting happy places that have/may have changed. Rothesay was another happy holiday place apart from the ferry.
GM you are amazing 😊

Auntyflo my son used my photo on a Google search and found it to be Iris Graminea. Apparently it takes a couple of years before flowers appear, so the bird must have delivered it during lockdown! I just hope I can keep it going for years to come šŸ¤ž

Nannagarra Sainsbury sell Robinson's Lemon Barely Water. smile

Nannagarra Mon 19-Jun-23 10:08:55

Good morning from Sefton where the sunshine has reappeared following a shower.
Washing machine is on and bread dough on its first rise. DiL has just left. DH and DGS are out in search of Robinsons cordial. Tell me, where is lemon barley water these days?
Kind wishes to those worrying and those who are unwell. Thinking of Kalu and Urms.

Good morning GrandMattie, Mick, get well soon, and Annie.
We had the minutest amount of rain yesterday, that I needn't have worried about my garden longer getting wet. The ground is like cement, so am happy to hear that 'no dig' is good for the soil.
Our Church service yesterday was lovely, although quite sparse. I expect families had made other arrangements for Fathers Day. Afterwards I did manage to post a birthday card to a friend, although will be late, as it has travelled around, in my bag, for a week, with me forgetting to pop it in the post box.
Pretty picture of your plant Taichinan. Would it be an Iris Foetodissma ? (Sp?). I had something very similar, also probably by a passing bird, but it has disappeared this year.
Well, the bed needs stripping, and there is laundry to be done.
Thinking of all the poorlies. {{{hugs}}}
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning all and Mick in absentia. Do hope he is recovering well.
Quiet day yesterday and today. Don’t feel motivated but will tackle the housework and prepare for music club tomorrow. I’ve ordered some new sheet music so that’s cheery. Had a nice face time with my DD in Bahrain on one of her long haul flights. She’s so considerate and facetimes me regularly, this time when just about to sleep after the long flight. Haven’t heard from my son for weeks lol. He’s backwards and forwards to Spain at the moment with his band, recording so hope it goes well.
Thoughts as always to Kalu Urms and Gingster. Will read through later.

Good morning from a sunny day here in Essex by the sea.
Lots of rain yesterday afternoon/evening but totally dry now.
Housework today and some admin.
Have a great day everyone but thinking of those with worries or sadness xxx

Good morning all from an Angus coast which is brightening a little after 12 hours of rain.
I found this little beauty in a sheltered corner of the garden on Saturday. I have no idea how it got there, because I certainly didn't plant it! But long may it last - it is so beautiful. Passing birds can be so generous not always appreciated! I have a very strong and sturdy climbing hydrangea creeping along my back fence which started its journey about 20 years ago in just such a way.
Today my new chair should be delivered šŸ¤ž. It can't come too soon as I'm finding it more and more difficult to find a comfy seat in the evening from which to watch tv.
Nothing else planned for today, but tomorrow I intend to get back to tai chi - I have so missed it over the past couple of weeks or so.
I guess poor Mick is finding getting his strength and equilibrium back after his op is taking longer than he anticipated. But take as long as it takesMick and I hope you can feel all the healing vibes winging their way to you. We all look forward to having you back with us before too long.
Kalu and Urms šŸ™
I'm off for my wander round the garden to see what wonders the rain has performed on it. Have the best day everyone - and I hope you feel a bit more like your usual cheery self soon Grandmabatty x

Good morning everyone from sultry Carlisle where I suspect a shower is imminent.
Heavy showers arrived late yesterday afternoon and continued all evening, and, judging by my bird bath, all night as well.
I lost patience with the lack of rain yesterday and planted out my very well grown french beans. That sounds easy work. It wasn't, I had to employ my mini pick axe to hack out holes and loosen the surrounding earth. The ground was bone dry inches down too. I should have waited till today but I have got used to weather forecasts never being accurate for this part of the world.
Today, I'm planning a serious assault on the housework and laundry which I didn't feel up to in last week's temperatures.

I thought we might have seen Mick opening today? I hope he is progressing well and thanks for continuing GM.

Lovely to hear about your son Marydoll! But not about you...I hope you are up and at it before too long.

And wishing you all the best possible day.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 19-Jun-23 08:43:44

Good Morning all from damp Dumfries. Looks like we might have had a good fall of rain overnight. We had a lovely lunch yesterday with two sisters and DBIL in Moffat - such a pretty town.
Today we are off to Dumfries House on our way to Prestwick. Sadly the weather seems to have broken, so it doesn't look like we'll be on the beach tomorrow! There's always Kelvingrive Art Gallery in Glasgow (Haven't been since 2019!)
Have the best day possible folks.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 19-Jun-23 08:43:09

Morning all

Beautiful blue sky, sunny and warm here in S E Essex.

The washing machine is whirring away, and I am off to the gym. This afternoon I have to bite the bullet and crack on with the Mt Everest ironing pile 🄵🄵🄵

(((Hugs))) to all, have a god day folks šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¦©

Good morning from sunny Colchester. We had loads of rain yesterday evening and overnight. It feels hot and muggy now.
I have housework to do before a cold shower.
Love to all 🦩 x

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 19-Jun-23 08:33:09

Morning all from a dampish West Oxfordshire. I’ve only just woken up. I took a sumatriptan yesterday for a migraine and they tend to knock me out. Waitrose this morning and a trip to the picture framers. OH is playing croquet this afternoon. My gardener just texted to say she might be calling in to do some planting. I’m thinking of Mick and the Urms.

harrigran Mon 19-Jun-23 08:18:28

Good morning from a bright NE after a night of heavy rain, I was awake between 3.30 and 4am thinking it would thunder but it didn't.
My sister came yesterday afternoon and spent three hours chatting and we agreed to lunch out during the week before she flies home at the weekend.
Nothing planned for today.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

Gala Mon 19-Jun-23 08:15:42

Good morning from sunny Sefton. The deluge reached us by late afternoon yesterday accompanied by a thunderstorm. Our very laid back greyhound cocked an ear, opened an eye, then went back to sleep. We had a lovely picnic lunch with the the family, luckily they had left by the time the heavens opened.
Singing this morning, it always cheers me up. We are not needed this afternoon for "minding" our youngest Gd. I'm quite disappointed.
Thinking of those with worries & struggles. Hoping we hear from Mick soon that he is on the road to recovery.

ginny Mon 19-Jun-23 08:15:33

Good morning all.
I’m off to an art class this morning and an hours baby sitting later as Dd3 and SILs schedules overlap.
Thoughts with all who are worried or poorly .

Georgesgran Mon 19-Jun-23 08:11:12

Good morning from Durham. A mixed start of blue sky, cloud and it’s cool. It rained last night - a few drops at first, but gradually increased to a real downpour - it will be good for the gardens.
Got DD2 and her family to the airport yesterday - fun and games (not) but managed.
Coffee this morning with a friend - becoming a regular fixture as she visits her MI son afterwards on Mondays to take him shopping.
Lots of DD1’s laundry to see to and her little dog to walk later.
Another hoping to hear from Mick soon.
Best wishes to all. X

Marydoll Mon 19-Jun-23 08:08:34

I thought so, Tilly! No worse than me posting my WhatsApp message to DD on GN the other day! Thank goodness it was something innoccuous. blush

TillyTrotter Mon 19-Jun-23 08:03:57

Hi Marydoll - Doh! I have my Wurzel Gummidge head on today as I intended to post on the ā€œWhat was she thinking?ā€ Camilla thread.
Hello to all - I do read Good Morning thread 😊

Marydoll Mon 19-Jun-23 08:02:03

It's good to see you posting here, Tilly, hope you are well! Did you mean to post on the Meghan thread!

TillyTrotter Mon 19-Jun-23 07:59:29

I am a fan of jumpsuits and dungarees on women and Camilla’s is a fun, bright colour.
The only comment I have is on the trousers part - I would have preferred not-so-wide and not-so-long.
Easily altered and when she sees photo’s she may get her tailor to adjust. Just my opinion.
