Good morning Mick and all, from a sunny Bristol. It is fresh and very pleasant in bed.

Nannagarra Thu 22-Jun-23 07:31:13

Good morning from sunny Sefton. It’s good to see you back Mick.
Some admin and the usual meet up with friends will keep me busy. In the last three days three people I haven’t seen for a long time have reappeared in my life so there’s been a lot of catching up. My DH is amused at the extent of talking which has taken place!
Thinking of Urms and Kalu, and others facing worries. Have the best Thursday possible everyone.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Welcome home Mick and thank you to GM.
I should be making the most of the early coolness but I'm lazing with a cuppa.
Laundry, Aldi and popping to the High Street at noon to watch the Parachute Regiment Freedom of the City march.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sunny. There were a couple of sharp showers yesterday but I'll have to water tubs and baskets. Mick it is good to see you back. Thanks to GrandMattie for opening up so stalwartly.
Yesterday was a pottering day. Lots of little tasks which tidied up the house and garden. My visit to mum at night was not a success as she just wanted to sleep. Dd said it was the same when she went later. The nurse told me that mum is very reluctant to sit in a chair. She is very stubborn!
Today will be much similar to yesterday. I'm waiting for a delivery so won't be far. Pasta for dinner. Have a good day all

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Welcome back Mick do take care.
Get the house tidy today ready for my visitors who arrive tomorrow they are friends from Portsmouth whom we met in Menorca 43yrs ago.
DH cousin still has no feeling in hands and legs should have gone to theatre for back surgery on Tuesday but they have found he will need a pacemaker before it can go ahead.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another gorgeous sunny start to the day
So good to see you back again mick and thanks to gMattie for standing in. Hope all went well mick, take it easy now and rest
We’ve nothing much planned today, probably a quiet day catching up with a few jobs and pottering in the garden. I think I’ll have to mow the grass today too bluesapphire it grows so quickly at the moment. Good to hear about the charity fundraising too, such a worthwhile cause
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, especially Urms and Kalu hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a sunny Torbay, following a warm night.

It’s great to see you’re back home, Mick and hope you continue to recover well. grandMattie has been a very good substitute and our thanks to her for keeping this special daily thread going.

What an achievement from your member to have raised £4k for the air ambulance, BlueSapphire ! We recently had a talk from one of the pilots about their work in Devon which was very interesting.

Yesterday, we had “show and tell” at our theatre Wednesday Club where each of us brought in something of special significance. I took in a print and photograph of Shugborough Hall (NT) near Stafford, as I lived near it during my first marriage. It is the ancestral home of the Earls of Lichfield. The late Patrick Lichfield was a regular visitor to my children's primary school and took a keen interest in village affairs. He drove a Range Rover on which the letters had been changed to spell hangover!!

Wishing you all a good day, especially those like Marydoll who are unwell. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning Mick. So glad you're back home!

cornergran Thu 22-Jun-23 06:55:33

Good morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset. Sunshine forecast for later

Welcome back mick. Take it easy now.

Off out today for a wander. Must water the pots tonight. Hoped for rain yesterday, just half a dozen spots.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

BlueSapphire Thu 22-Jun-23 06:50:20

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Showers forecast after lunch. Glad I got the back grass cut yesterday, but it was quite hard-going. The front needs doing now, but shan't get it done before the binmen arrive today.

A pleasant afternoon at the well-being cafe - with a surprise presenetation; one of our members has raised over £4000 for our air- ambulance, and representatives from the charity arrived to receive the very large cheque. So there was a little formal ceremony with photographs and flowers, very impressive.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, then an early lunch before my dance classes. Need to get a different bus as our road is closed for two days to allow the repair of the many potholes.

Thinking of all with worries and cares; have the best day you can.

Mizuna Thu 22-Jun-23 06:49:15

Welcome back Mick and thank you grandMattie for standing in for him.

RosesandLilac Thu 22-Jun-23 06:47:16

Good morning everyone, it’s bright but cloudy here on the edge of the Cotswolds.
I had a lovely day yesterday, an art workshop in a 16C pub, in probably one of the prettiest villages I’ve ever visited. I must go back to explore it soon.
A really great venue so I’m hoping it will be used again.
Today I must give the house a good tidy up, then some weeding- they’re rapidly growing now we’ve had some rain 🙄
Have a lovely day 🌹

kitty I missed urms

Is she ok?

kittylester Thu 22-Jun-23 06:33:25

Good morning all from a sticky North Leicestershire. Rain is forecast so will most likely happen as I leave the hairdresser's about 2.30.

I have a bit of a headache following last night at our neighbour's house. We had a good catch up and quite a bit of wine.

Good to see you back, Mick and lovely to see a post from Urms last night.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 22-Jun-23 06:18:01

Good morning from the South Downs - not sure of the weather, but no sun as yet.

Dog still on his back with his legs in the air and snoring - so I shall relax in bed with my tea.

Must put the sitting room back to normal today as the other half of the rug will now be dry. Deadheading and cutting back in the garden. Also got a couple of salvias to plant in vacant spaces. Strawberries to pick.

Easy dinner - left over vegetable chilli from yesterday - which was very tasty - with brown rice.

Good to see mick back. Kind wishes to all struggling.

karmalady Thu 22-Jun-23 06:11:58

Good morning, what a joy to see Mick`s post this morning.

Warm, dry and sunny here in s somerset today

I am so glad I decided not to go on an early cycle ride yesterday, I stayed away because of festival traffic. Yes sure enough, two bad crashes within the time I would have been out and diversions locally. Locals saying that even diverted drivers were much too fast. Crashes were on my favourite cycle route. Same bad traffic expected today

Nothing planned at all, yesterday was a good positive day and I shall ensure that today is too. Btw, apple thinning was so satisfying, it gives the young trees a better life and better produce for me

Have a lovely day

Greyduster Thu 22-Jun-23 06:05:59

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick welcome back! Take it easy now you’re home.
A pretty dull start in South Yorkshire. The gardener is supposed to start this morning taming my hedges so I won’t be going out with the walking group. I hope he turns up. Rain is forecast for later, but I have plenty to do in the house. There’s always plenty to do in the house - it’s like painting the Forth Bridge!
Have the best day you can folks.

Aldom Thu 22-Jun-23 06:02:29

Good morning Mick so good to see you back. All the very best for your future good health.

Grammaretto Thu 22-Jun-23 05:54:43

Welcome back Mick!!
You sound in fine form.
Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Sunny here.
Yoga later .
Thinking of those who are poorly.
Have a lovely day everyone.

grandMattie Thu 22-Jun-23 05:50:09

Hello Mick. Sorry, I took over your little job. I shall retire now.
Glad you’re back and hope you improve quickly.

grandMattie Thu 22-Jun-23 05:49:01

Yesterday didn’t turn out at all as I expected!
Firstly, the lady I was due to visit was in Split dealing with a family emergency. Then, the WI meeting I was going to wasn’t on the third Wednesday, but the third Monday, so I missed it! I had a nice chat to the federation secretary who, when she found out that I’d been a trustee, tried to suck me in. Mi refused very firmly, but kept my options open for a later stage.
I received the eye watering quite for the flooring which, of course, I shall accept. I was told they could do some of it in three weeks. The rest has to wait for the renovation work to be done first.
The bathroom renovation can start on 4 September - if I get permission on time…. I shall tell them truthfully that I am starting to fear falling through the floor, as the mushy chipboard under the shower is causing me concern!
The concert in the evening was ok, but the music was too light for me. I’m afraid I prefer the Baroque period by far. It was pleasant to be out with my neighbour; neither of us wanted to stay for the refreshments and socialising, so went home soon after the end.
My prayers and thoughts are with the Urms family in particular, but also with all those having horrible health problems.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 22-Jun-23 05:48:39

Ah Mick! Hello there.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 22-Jun-23 05:48:03

Morning all from a warm West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed. Still no word from Mick so I hope all is well. A quieter day for me after yesterday. Although I had a lovely afternoon at the National Portrait Gallery followed by an interesting evening at WI. The speaker could have reduced her talk by half and left out most of the accompanying slides! OH has to go to Yeovil today so I’ll get on with some WI admin. I am seeing friends tonight, one of whom is awaiting the results of a biopsy. I said I would take a cake. Thoughts of Mick and Urms. I hope life isn’t proving too difficult.

Michael12 Thu 22-Jun-23 05:44:33

Good Morning Everyone,
Arrived home last night from the Churchill , and came online hoping to start this.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from bright and beautiful Berkshire.
I hope today is the day we see Mick back safe and sound.

Have a good day as possible one and all.
