Scaffold has gone up on the derelict house next door, drills are drilling, hammers hammering, workmen whistling.
Plastering and painting for Orlin and I following the builder finally settling out of court at the last minute. A huge relief after five years of battling.
Nothing compared to others struggles I know.

Good morning all. Glad the heat has resided a bit. Spoke to my brother last night on the phone whilst sitting in front of the living room window open and he said” you’ll be complaining in a few months about putting the heating on” he did make me laugh. Lovely weekend back to work at 11 and just chilling. Have a good day all. Take care mick don’t overdo it.

Marydoll that’s amazing re the BP, how marvellous if they have somehow hit on the right medication. My BP was 280 / 180 at its peak and took months to hit on the right combination. I hope you feel a little stronger as the fluid lessens too.

I think we had your deluge over the border in Lancashire Greyduster. Your weather sounds the same as ours Ekwa. MrB is working on a complicated structure of pipes and pumps to keep a bird bath and the small wildlife pond that empties into the main pond topped up, but the heavens opened and he was driven indoors! At least it helped fill the water butts.

Sat here finishing my morning tea, listening to birdsong and reading all your news. I haven’t been too well lately, nowhere near as bad as Marydoll but having to cut down on physical activity is so frustrating. It’s good to appreciate the small things. My mug is now empty, morning meds all taken in the correct order, so I must get up, showered and dressed. No real plans for today other than physio and a little housework and a walk.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
After arranging to meet up with old friend in city for lunch at a favourite gallery, we arrived to find it closed. I think I had Saturday and Sunday mixed up in my mind when looking at the opening times online. Worrying when that happens brainwise…
Anyway we pottered down the hill to a restaurant we have frequented before. What a disappointment. After waiting ages and no order taken, another long wait and the food was awful. A Yorkshire pudding straight from King Alfred, meal barely warm and a small piece of chicken. Not that cheap and throw in a hard faced waitress. Left a review on Tripadvisor and crossed it off the list.
Found a very interesting vintage shop, new to me though there for years and bought three books, which I need like a hole in the head.
Off to sing again today so just about to have a warble.
Easy does it Michael and thoughts to all with worries.

I agree Harri. It was six weeks before I was alllowed to even lift a kettle!

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday was very humid so I had an hour sitting in the garden, I was doing a crossword when the back door opened and gave me a shock as I live alone. SIL had returned from Brussels and had come for his Sunday dinner, I thought he was away until the 29th.
Rain started mid afternoon but we did not have any thunder, sister 5 miles away did.
Watched some Glastonbury on iplayer, Lewis Capaldi.
Be careful Mick, I was told not to lift, pull or push after my operation so that the tummy can heal.
Thoughts are with poorly people and carers.

roseandlilac, find local horse owners, whose horses were affected and also look up clay shooting regulations on google. There are regulations on shooting if it affects horses. Dd had similar but not clays, she is tenacious and it has stopped. All the local farmers and gamekeepers agreed that this person was breaking the code of conduct and he backed down

Don`t let this slide otherwise you will have to put up with it year on year

It's a lot cooler this morning .Washer on with bedding in,we had a lovely barbecue at Dds yesterday.When we got home we had a small shower of cooling rain.Oh lost two crowns over the weekend so a expensive visit to dentist hopefully today . Sending 💐 to those needing a lift.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny-at-the-moment Carlisle. Showers will probably happen sooner or later.
We had a couple of hours of torrential rain yesterday afternoon and regular heavy showers all evening, and about an hour of sun in between. As I had no plans to be outside the rain was very welcome as I won't have to be watering plants for a while.

My infection that I thought I'd fought off bounced back last night so I will take things carefully today but I'm frustrated at having to abandon plans to get out and plant out in the garden.
This is all very minor compared with Marydolls problems, I do hope your new drugs are going to get you up and at things again before long.

RoseandLilac, I don't see why a minority should enjoy themselves at the expense, I presume, of the majority. That sounds like a truly untenable situation and I second the advice of contacting a councillor or two. And I would have thought, even though it's on private land, some sort of permission for that sort of noisy activity should have been required.

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. The birds are happy after the rain. The forecast said rain and it was right.

3 of us arrived at the garden party and were met by a man with a large umbrella. To our relief he led us to a very large canopy covering the food and chairs and tables The rain stopped enough to enjoy the beautiful walled garden and I won garden tokens in the raffle.

How awful for you and your neighbours having that noise each Sunday. roseandlilac enjoying yourself yes but at the expense of others, no . You must complain.

I am glad you are recoveringMick even feeling like doing housework is a sign that your energy is coming back.

Yesterday a Chinese water deer watched as we made our way along a footpath through a field. It was such a treat to see it.

Good morning all from a much cooler (13°) Angus coast. In fact it felt positively chilly during the night and I had to get up and put another cover on the bed.
Glad you're feeling so much better Mick, but don't go wild with the housework - it'll still be there tomorrow!
My insides have been playing up for the past few days but I'm hoping today some food will be accepted. Trouble is, I can't think of anything I fancy. A bit of salmon and new potatoes might be sensible .....
Back to tai chi tomorrow, always something to look forward to.

Distinctly cooler this morning which is a great relief and means that some gentle housework beckons though nothing too demanding. Still low on energy but I am getting used to that. Hope today is a good one.

We had a really lovely evening watching dancing DGD in her show, she did really well and we were very proud of her. Today I’m off to the gym later for the aqua aerobics and then going for a coffee and catch up with my pal. She’s been away on holiday so I’m looking forward to hearing about her adventures

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire, mixed cloud but blue peeping through.

Auto glass coming this morning to repair my cracked windscreen and gutter cleaners hopefully arriving this after so that will be two badly needed jobs done.

Youngest DGC and their friends had a garden gate bake sale yesterday afternoon and made £240 for the two charities they were supporting! What they didn’t sell at the gate they took round local houses, complete with DGS’s ukelele, and sang at people. I suspect they paid them to go away!

Just watching TV in the background and there is a lovely young women who has Tourette’s syndrome speaking, what courage.

Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton, feeling a lot cooler. Yoga this morning then back to attempt some long overdue housework - the reason being that I have old family friends coming to visit on Thursday. Today is the only time I have between now and then to prepare for their visit. Have not seen them since before lockdown. I need to think of somewhere nice to take them, perhaps for lunch out.

Spent a pleasant afternoon yesterday in our town park watching and listening to DD playing flute in her concert band - not a brass band, but similar to a military band, woodwind, brass and percussion. It was excellent. They played a wide range of music over a three hour session. Sat in the shade with DS-in-law under the trees, and enjoyed prosecco, and picnicky snacks.

The sun has just come out, and lots of blue sky now. Must get my skates on and get myself showered and dressed ready for yoga.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick don’t get carried away with the housework - that’s a very bad habit even if you aren’t recovering from surgery!! The sun is out in South Yorkshire and it’s warm. We were promised a deluge yesterday afternoon/evening but it didn’t happen. The Grimethorpe concert at our cathedral was a sellout and boy, were they good, although the huge sound is better suited to a concert hall than our fairly small cathedral. They shared the programme with Tapton school’s Youth Band and they brought the house down, so there is a future for brass band’s it seems.
Chiropodist is coming this morning, and then my kitchen needs a clean.
Juliee hope things are working out in Siberia - you seem to be getting through the beaurocracy ok!

We have a forecast of rain, so hopefully DH will be off the course before the deluge.

Mick it's good to hear you are improving, but your internal stitches still need to heal, so go easily on the housework.

I get a great deal of pleasure, reading of all the busyness on here. Please keep coming with all the lovely photos.

Yesterday was a day of doing nothing. Not long after doing my first injection, I began to feel truly awful. My mouth was tingling slightly and in my extremely fertile imagination, I was about to go into anaphylatic shock. ( I have previous convictions m'lud for extreme reactions to medication and DS2 carries an epipen).
Of course it was all a load of cobblers and I live to tell the tale. .
I had hoped to potter round the garden, but kept falling asleep and the vertigo and rain of biblical portions were doing their damnest to ruin my day. I have some plants to put in, which have been waiting for days.

Today is usually my going to Mass and parish admin day, but that won't be happening. I do miss catching up on all the gossip news.
Dealing with chronic illness is quite a lonely journey, compounded by the fact that I have no inclination to interact with anyone.
It is my friend across the road's birthday and DH's tomorrow, consequently I will need to find where Ihave stashed the gifts.

Unexpectedly, I got a text from a former classmate, whom I sometimes bump into at Diocesan meetings, asking me how I was and would I like to meet up, when I feel better.
How on earth she knew I was ill, despite living in another town, I have no idea. The jungle drums I expect. MrMD says I am what is called, a local worthy.
When we were out to dinner week, a total stranger approached me and asked how I was. I had absolutely no idea who she was, but went into teacher mode, where I have no idea, who the ex pupil in front me is, but I pretend I do. 😆

Speaking of kindness, I would like to thank those posters, whom I don't really know, who have taken the time to send me a supportive PM, they will never know, how much that has lifted my spirits.

On a much lighter note, something strange has been happening to my BP. I totally forgot that I was supposed to be monitoring it on a daily basis, ( I'm only four days late), because it has been at almost stroke level again.
I took it yesterday three times and it was so low, I called DH to say, I thought I might be dead!
It was consistently low all day, so all I can surmise is, that this new medication to relieve the excess fluid in my heart and lungs, has after thirty years, somehow managed to achieve what all those other BP meds haven't. Every cloud.... and all that. 😁

Rose and Lilac, I can empathise. Have you checked with your local council, if there is anything wrong. It may be private land, but there are regulations about noise nuisance,

Good morning from a warm and sunny Oxfordshire, yesterday was a scorcher mitigated by a gale force wind (well almost gale force) subsequently I have my first bad Hayfever time in 4 years, sniffing and sneezing all day isn’t a good look.
Off out in a minute for an early dog walk, tissues at the ready.
Roseandlilac please contact your local Parish Council, they will have all of the contacts at the Planning office and Environmental health who will ensure that the shooting is away from local housing and monitor the noise levels. Let’s hope they can help, I see on websites that clay pigeon shooting is a popular Sunday sport, how awful for you, especially as it could be every Summer!

Good morning everyone and an early start for me. After a muggy night I’m pleased to see a breeze and a cooler start to the day.

I have a morning’s session in Ipswich for a panel I sit on regularly. It is face to face which is much appreciated by my colleagues and I after remote panels since lockdown….a good chance to catch up and chat during coffee and lunch.

Must get a move on as I have a bit of a reputation for always arriving at the very last minute!
