I find any kind of toe post sandals uncomfortable anyway, but both of those just look horrendous.

I dislike toepost sandals usually but somehow I like the look of the gold ones.
I wouldn't want to wear them, tho, not even when I was young.

Well, I have certainly never had that sort of money to use on shoes, but if I had, I can imagine I might have bought some of them when I was young. Especially this pair of super sandals.

I would have loved them 40-50 years ago!

But I don't think I would wear them now, unless I found them in a charity shop.

I’ve just bought these retro sandals to wear with white ankle socks and my tea dresses.

I’ve worked out that a 40s style is the best way for me to be comfortable in the hot weather.

They aren’t the cheapest, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever bought.

However, I have managed to summon up enough energy to purchase two pairs of (absolutely unnecessary) pairs of shoes in the Clarks Outlet sale.
In saying that I have been searching for a pair of low heeled leather, navy court shoes for two years. My DIL suggested I find out where cabin crew buy them.
Lo and behold a pair popped up on my PC, reduced to £14.

I got a pair of moshula slip on ballet pumps from a charity shop, they were so comfortable that I've been online and ordered a pair in a different colour. They are £89 usually but £20 off so £69. I do hope they are as comfortable as the older charity shop ones as I know from buying earth spirit sandals over the years that the current ones on sale are a poor copy.

I love pumps. This shop in Barcelona is my heaven.

For many years I’ve been buying Hotter shoes for work, since I had to do a lot of walking in the hospital. I find them very well constructed with arch support, widths to fit your size and styles that cater to older women.

Marydoll - look at Hotter online for your low heeled navy pumps. They have them!!

The high heeled toe post shoes must be produced for masochists. Ordinary flip flops eventually begin to hurt my feet, and the thought of a person's entire weight being thrown forward by the high heels -no!

Thanks Gunday, the ones I bought from Clarks for £14 are exactly what I was looking for. They are now back up to £38 in the sale. I'm glad I didn't hesitate. However, I don't intend to walk far in them, they have been bought to go with certain dresses!
You have reminded me of two pairs of dressy Hotter shoes I had forgotten about.

To look at, they are quite nice, I admit - but as I can't bear even one toe post, my feet hurt just thinking about wearing them!

I have 3 pairs of adjustable Skechers sandals. I wear them all day every day and now my feet will not fit comfortably in any other footwear. It is one good thing about being 89 as nobody cares here about what I wear!! It is very hot here during the months til November. I go barefoot in the house. I have never been able to wear high heels and watching young women marching along in stilettos is amazing to me. They must have perfect balance.
