I will go first let me know if you think it’s true or false and come up with your own lie/truth.

Here goes….

My mother had an affair with a Rolling Stone in 1961.

Marydoll Wed 05-Jul-23 15:41:58

I was once filmed for a BBC Scotland News item.

It wasn’t a cafe open to the public Smileless

Oh yes Norah that's quite true so mine was exactly a lie, maybe just half a onesmile.

I've got to believe that merlotgran.

Indeed, I'll not stop modeling bedroom underwear until no one admires. smile It's little things that make life wonderful!

Smileless I think that could be true.

Kate1949 Wed 05-Jul-23 15:10:15

I am inclined to believe you NotaGran.

merlotgran Wed 05-Jul-23 15:09:52

My mother was a Tiller Girl in the 1950s.

Truth or lie?

Norah Wed 05-Jul-23 15:08:31

Smileless2012

I used to be an underwear model. Lie or truth?

Most are, if only in their own bedroom - I still am. smile

Kate1949 Wed 05-Jul-23 15:08:03

Mine was a lie. When I won my ticket to sit behind The Beatles at a recording of the show, the TV people wrote to ask me if I would do the dance thing. I was far too under confident and said no. I could have been backstage with The Beatles, Animals, Tom Jones and Peter and Gordon. Another missed opportunity.

Smileless2012 Wed 05-Jul-23 15:06:58

hmm is there a clue in the word cafe being in inverted comas NotAGran?

NotAGran55 Wed 05-Jul-23 15:00:29

I had a coffee in a ‘cafe’ one afternoon and Peter Sutcliffe was sitting at the next table with his wife.

I believe you Sagoand Kate1949

Well that's a double envyenvy from me AGA

I think your truth was a better story than your lie Laurasmile.

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 05-Jul-23 14:50:30

Sago - your mother may have been seduced into believing that she was the one and only by a bad man...it's happened to many of us !

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 05-Jul-23 14:48:41

I believe everything here - maybe I'm just gullible !

Kate1949 Wed 05-Jul-23 14:32:52

I believed all if you!

I was a go-go dancer in a cage on Thank Your Lucky Stars TV show.

LauraNorderr Wed 05-Jul-23 14:15:22

I did believe you AGA but Smiles got there before me.

LauraNorderr Wed 05-Jul-23 14:14:23

Sorry all, it was a lie. The truth was that I pretended to be Bobby Davro’s Secretary and got the local Nissan dealer to agree to deliver a Nissan Bluebird to a local hotel for him to test drive. I did ring up at noon to tell them it was a prank before they carried it out. My cousin would have been the deliverer and apparently went home to get his best suit! Gotcha.

AGAA4 Wed 05-Jul-23 14:04:04

It is true Smileless.

Smileless2012 Wed 05-Jul-23 13:58:57

I believe you AGAA4 and am very envy.

AGAA4 Wed 05-Jul-23 13:57:18

I believe Laura

I once had a conversation with John Hannah in a play centre

True or lie?

Smileless2012 Wed 05-Jul-23 13:46:05

Oh good for you Fanny. It must be nice to be able to tell people truthfully you were a life model and you can always leave them wondering if you kept your clothes on grin.

FannyCornforth Wed 05-Jul-23 13:40:20

Oh, Smiles!
Yes, I was. It was my first job (but I was only 16 so I did keep my clothes on. It was £15 an hour, which was an awful lot then.
If I had taken off my clothes it would have been £25.)

FannyCornforth Wed 05-Jul-23 13:37:34

I think that this is going to be a ‘quirky things about me’ thread!
(And nowt wrong with that!)

Molly I believe you too!smile

Smileless2012 Wed 05-Jul-23 13:37:21

Sorry but it was a fib; if only my body had been good enoughsad.

I believe you Laura.

hmmnot sure Fanny but as you were good enough to give me the benefit of the doubt, I'll do likewise.

Mollygo Wed 05-Jul-23 13:35:36

Why not Fanny? I believe you.

I used to play in the county lacrosse team back in the day.
