Good morning from a bright & sunny Sefton. I am up early again but with a difference. We have had our DGD1 sleeping over whilst mum & dad were off to something exciting in London so I am not only up I have to be "sparkly" & coherent as well. The washing's on, now to get her washed, dressed , breakfasted & off to school.
She's 5 & full of life. Now to get her full of weetabix. The rest of the day will be spent in recovery.
Ash My DS1 got the acting (& singing) bug at 3 when cast as a shepherd in his nursery nativity. He joined the local musical theatre company at 14 & it has kept out of mischief ever since.
Take care all.

Good morning from sunny Cornwall where I'm getting ready for my art 'student' to appear for the day. She'll be experimenting with texture paste and heavy body acrylics and hopefully will have fun. Because I watched lots of Wimbledon yesterday instead of pottering I need to whip around my very small flat and organise things away so I can concentrate on her. After that, I'll watch the rest of the Murray/Tsitsipas match.

Have a wonderful time this evening GG13.

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s another cool and cloudy start to the day.

Oh poor Dollie. I well remember those awful nights Mary, with DD and then her eldest.

Take it easy Mick, you may not be as steady on your feet as you think.

Best of luck to your DGS Ash and Georgesgran I hope your abscess heals soon.

Yesterday, after an hour or so of light housework, I parked myself on the sofa with a new book which I read from start to finish. It felt like little mini break.

We’re off to Edinburgh today to spend a few hours with DS on his own. It’s his day off and DDoutL and the children are visiting her Mum on the south coast of England.

They have accepted an offer for their house but from someone who hasn’t yet sold theirs so I’ve everything crossed for them.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all,

Well I am preened and ready for the Ball this evening. Change of plan on the dress as it’s going to be hot today and this evening. (Will post a photo once I have found the dress in spare wardrobe/s)
We have various GC here up till 2pm (teachers strike) DD will finish work early and then take over.

Enjoy your walk Mick , safe journey Ash enjoy your GS’s performance.

MaryDoll I hope Dollie is better soon, and that you get some rest today. GC bring us such joy, but we worry so much when they are poorly.

Have a good day folks (((hugs))) to those in need 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from Durham. Weather looks promising, but very windy. Missed the gardeners yesterday, but it all looks neat and tidy. Gum abscess not really responding to the antibiotics yet. Weekly coffee with an old friend this morning, then a much needed hair cut - last done in February!
Will walk Little Dog later - the barn owl showed itself last night when we were out.
Thinking of Urms Kalu and SueD whose DS awaits results.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from Bern! We hope to go walking in the mountains today from Wengen. It is hot here too but seems to peak at 4 - 5 pm. Hope everyone has the best day they can.

I meant DGS., Ash. Apologies

Good morning from a very bright, warm Bristol. We are promised 26C. A change from the 12C we were getting In Orkney!
Marydoll, I’m so sorry your sleepover wasn’t as happy as you had hoped, poor little Dollie. I hope she gets seen soon and improves soon. (DS1 always had ear infections and was banned from swimming by our GP!)
Enjoy your DS’s performance, Ash. Bon voyage.
I had a quiet day, just laundry and a big shop. I missed tai chi as I felt too tired - even had a 90 minute nap before taking the bus to DD’s for dinner.
Today, my financial advisor is coming, then the girls, who have a strike day off, and DS are coming to pick me up for lunch out and necessary shopping at Dunelm and IKEA. DD is off to York to the General Synod until Tuesday.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning to those who posted after I slowly started typing!

Good morning Mick, Ash and all who follow.

Safe journey Ash and take it easy Mick.

I hope you enjoyed the ball, Granny Gravy, I bet you looked very glamorous.

I have been up most of the night with Dollie and her earache, obviously picked, swimming under water on holiday. I had forgotten how awful it is for wee ones and that long wait in between paracetamol doses. Thank goodness I had a stash of Calpol. Be prepared, is my motto.
Papa, who slept through the night despite my attempts to waken him has taken over and made me a much needed cuppa.
We had such a lovely day yesterday, despite the torrential rain.
DD appeared after work to see Dollie, certainly not to see us! 😉
Its a shame it went downhill after that.

My Parish Priest turned up unexpectedly, saying how much I was missed. It probably means there is lots of outstanding paper work. However, I have decided to curtail my parish activities, after recent events. I'm no longer up to it.
Needing a new audience, (gran and papa's ears were nipping), she treated him to tales of her holiday.

Once mum and dad come for her, after hopefully getting a doctor's appointment, I shall be lying in a darkened room. 🤣

Have a good day folks!

Good morning from sunny south Gloucestershire, off to meet a dear friend and her daughter and granddaughters this morning for coffee.
Then weeding I think because the rain has definitely encouraged them to grow!
Enjoy the sunshine if you can 🌹

Sar53 Fri 07-Jul-23 06:24:37

Good morning from the Essex coast where we are promised a lovely sunny day, it's already blue sky and warm.
I'm helping DH today so it's old clothes and comfy shoes.
What a match last night, looking forward to the rest of it later.
Safe travels Ash and anyone else on the move.
Have a great day everyone xx

karmalady Fri 07-Jul-23 06:21:07

Morning from a sunny S Hants, mid 20’s due today, things to do will be done early.
It’ll be good for you to get out Mick, but if you’re not comfortable, maybe your chemist can deliver.
Have a smooth, uneventful journey Ashcombe.
Thoughts with those struggling Urms and Kalu in particular.

Good morning from a sunny Torbay. ☀️

It will feel good to walk a little further today, Mick, but take it steadily and I’d recommend going early before it’s too hot.

I'm going up to Staffordshire today by train to see my DGS3 in his first ever stage role with his acting class. He’s seven and seems to have inherited a love of performing from someone!! Actually my DS enjoyed drama pursuits when he was young but shift work as a police call handler/dispatcher makes commitment to a production impossible.

I’m catching a train that goes straight through to Stafford from Torquay where DS will meet me. A relief not to have to change in Birmingham!

Wishing everyone a happy weekend. 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Another sunny start here in brackley this morning.
I am hoping to attempt my first distance walk today by going to the chemists and maybe cashpoint .
Plus watch the tour de france unfold today .
Take Care,
Mick
