Oh Blossoming, I’m so very sorry.

I meant to send love earlier to all those feeling poorly or with troubles.

Good morning from a wet Shropshire.
Just had a lovely FaceTime with Grandaughter, she has just got her degree classification- a 2:1. Her cohort have had a rough three years. Covid messed up A levels,University years have not been normal in many ways, we are very proud of her.
Not a lot going on today so knitting and crosswords to fill the afternoon.
Hope everyone has the best day possible, thoughts for those with worries

Sounds like hard work Juliee!

Good morning from Siberia.

Glad you are on the mend, Mick!

It is hot here. I spent the morning in the migration office trying to solve a problem. I now have to go to the next town (6 hours away) to solve it(

I went to the gym and now I am working in my language school. I have a new student this evening.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone and Welcome to all the new to this thread readers who introduced themselves yesterday. I tend to pop in irregularly myself as I tend to post later in the morning but I always feel welcome and as if I know everyone.

It’s very hot here, 32° already and will get warmer later. Two of our air con units have stopped and probably need replacing but getting someone in to fix them is proving difficult.

We have the physio here at the moment and I’m looking forward to my treatment at midday. DD2 arrived on Friday just missing her son by one day. He would love to have carried on working using our house as a base but he does have a girlfriend in England after all. Although she enjoys travelling she wants to keep their home in England.

WWM2 We love Thorpeness! Aldeburgh is one of our go to places for a break and we always visit the Emporium. Last time we were there the cafe had gf custard tarts. Such a rare treat, I had to have 2.blush

Oh and me😄😄😄. What a treat!

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Biarritz. I’ve just lost a long ramble so will just say I’m here with DD DS and GD and my sister arrives tomorrow. First visit and like it a lot.
Glad you are feeling more like yourself Mick congratulations •Gingster• and so sorry for your bereavement •Blossom•

Very late good morning from a sunny NE.
I slept for ten hours, I was really tired.
SIL and I cooked a three course meal last night, cheese soufflé, duck confit and almond financier. Each course was delicious and we had a glass of Fleurie with the duck.
The sky was very threatening but we did not get the thunder, just a few showers.
DD was flying to Geneva and there were thunderstorms and they had severe turbulence, the lady next to her grabbed hold of her and crushed her hand. DD is a tiny size six and about seven stone and her fellow passenger was already sharing her seat. She said it was definitely a vomit comet journey but thankfully only about fifty minutess from Brussels.
Today I am going to the Metrocentre to look for a birthday gift for DIL and possibly a gift for their 20th wedding anniversary too.
Taichinan I loved the Three Chimneys, we stayed there for a week a few years ago. They made gorgeous packed lunches too so we could go sightseeing.
Happy anniversary to the Gingsters.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. Just a short visit from me.

I want to thank you all for your support over a very difficult few days.

I had a lovely birthday, being up on the fells in the sunshine is soothing for my soul. Lunch with family yesterday was wonderful, although I wasn’t feeling at my best.

I have awoken this morning to the news that another friend has passed away suddenly. I don’t know where I am with this, I’m shocked.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌻🌻🌻

DGD1 got herself up and out by 7.30 for her first day at primary school acting as an unpaid TA so I shall look forward to hearing about it in due course. It is so lovely having her here as she is excellent company.

Domestic day ahead with admin and gardening so had better get on with it. Sorry MD is so unwell still but glad to note gradual improvement for Mick. Thinking of Urms and Kalu and all having such a difficult time.

It’s a bit dull here in Co Armagh, so a cooler Good Morning !
I must say I can cope better in the cool than the burning heat !
Off shortly to get in supplies from Lidl , someone mentioned Portuguese Tarts ! I hope they have them today !
I lit a few candles yesterday for us all .
I’m in two minds about Mass ? I get so distracted looking to see who is sitting where , and I can’t always make out the Sermon , but on line I can concentrate better .
At the moment I’m doing both , on line for prayers and in the Chapel for social interaction !!

Good morning from Durham - bright and sunny today, lovely afternoon yesterday with DD2 and DGS2 here, thankfully it didn’t rain until after they’d gone.
Coffee this morning with 2 friends - it’s a nice way to kick off the week. Housework later, then taking Little Dog out for a long walk - I think he’ll go home tomorrow.
Thinking of our poorlies, those not posting, and those not improving. 💐
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. Wyllow has given you our weather. We had yet another rollicking thunder storm yesterday afternoon just as DS and DiL had set off back to York. They ran ahead of it apparently. Had a lovely afternoon with them yesterday, with Sunday lunch in the pub at the bottom of our valley. We sat in the garden for a while eating scones with strawberries and cream. Today I will try and get out for a walk before it starts raining again, and make a shepherds pie for dinner.
Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Gingster🍾🥂.
Have the best day you can folks.

Taichinan Mon 10-Jul-23 08:43:18

Happy anniversary gingster!

EkwaNimitee Mon 10-Jul-23 08:40:04

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather cloudy Carlisle where there are still a few blue patches but rain is forecast later.
Glad you feel you are improving Mick.

Today I shall just plough through the usual bed-changing and housework then read in the afternoon plus do my brain-training apps to hopefully keep my cerebral apparatus in good order! Pity I can't do the same about the body, I'm still in slow recovery from my recent infection, hoping it won't bounce back. Still might get back to the GP. It's hard to recover from these things when you're older.

Best wishes and thoughts to all of you suffering greater problems than mine.
And have a good day/travels everyone.

Liberty Mon 10-Jul-23 08:38:55

Good morning all from another sunny day in Suffolk. We had some rain yesterday, the first in several days but nothing like other parts of the country.

The mention of Thorpeness reminds me of several children’s’ birthday parties we held there many years ago. We always used to ask the guests to bring a set of spare clothes as at least one would jump into the water….fell they said! All part of the fun. DS and family live in Ipswich and it is a great spot to meet up although SO much busier than it was when our children, now all in their 40s,were younger.

Plans for the day have changed because the friend I was meeting is not well and not up to driving to our chosen venue as she lives in Essex so I shall join DH on the dog walk which I think will be further afield than the track at the bottom of the garden which leads to a small and shady wood….ideal in the heat.

Must read this through before posting to check for any auto changes!

Thinking of all with concerns about ongoing health issues.
