Todays plans apart from doing my own Fish & Chips ,as I have started to eat more regular meals again.
My system is gradually getting better despite weight loss .
The day they you can have a beer will be nice.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. Grey again, but still warm. I’m lost off with the days, as it was DGS1’s sports day in the week and I keep thinking that was Saturday!
Coffee this morning with friend, then DD2 and I have afternoon nail appointments. I’m then going to toddler sit, so she and her DH can go to the cinema. I hope it stays dry to take DGS2 to the park.
Beautiful baby Pit - they aren’t as ‘squashed’ when C Section?
Mick that first beer, whenever, will be like nectar.
Enjoy your empty Marydoll and time with the family later.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Mick and all. We have a gentle drizzle on the Angus coast which will soon be turning into rain and more rain.
So glad you're feeling brighter today Mick - you were given some very good explanations by your friends on hear yesterday which must have helped you a lot. Enjoy your fish and chips!
Thank goodness for that grandmattie. And now your very own interior designer to boot. When will you be opening your little palace to the public 😉
Congratulations on your lovely little granddaughter, Pittcity! How perfect she is. You are going to dote on her so much!
Enjoy your time with your two little Dollies, Marydoll. (I can just picture pappa's hand being firmly removed from the pram handle by Someone!)
Karma I have to laugh at myself! When you said the other day you were waiting for the arrival of some loppers I thought you meant they'd be attached to some burly tree fellers. I should have known you better than that! What an amazing lady you are.
That Siberian storm sounded scary indeed Juliee. I hope you were safely indoors throughout.
Nothing planned here today, although a spot of ironing might warm me up a little - it feels decidedly chilly indoors. I'm away now to put my jacket on for my usual wander round the garden and an early feed of the fish before the rain sets in in earnest. Have the best day you can everyone and look for the 🌈 through the clouds x

Beautiful little girl Pittcity once again congratulations to you and your family.

Greyduster Fri 14-Jul-23 09:04:14

Gorgeous baby Pitt!

EkwaNimitee Fri 14-Jul-23 09:02:49

Good morning Mick and everyone from damp but brightish Carlisle. It probably won't be as bad here as it may be down in southern parts. Thankfully, the wind has dropped. I have been concerned about my new tree out front-the road is a bit of a wind tunnel- but so far all is fine.

You sound happier Mick, I hope you will soon get that beer and be out and about on the buses again.

I had an expensive visit to the dentist yesterday to repair a broken tooth, get a filling and a clean. Private dentist, no chance of the NHS here, the last I heard it would be a trip to Hexham for that.

Today, I will be out later this morning to visit the doc to have my ticker checked out. It's probably fine but Mrs Worryguts here has concerns. Other than that, maybe a little housework but I must catch up on some boring admin. Life seems to need more and more of it these days.
Still on a health theme, did any one see last night's TV programme on keeping healthy in old age? It featured some older ladies who didn't look it including an amazing 91 year old
It's all in the genes, I mutter, knowing I'm no longer up to aerobics.

Congratulations to you and your family Pittcity. What a peaceful little soul she looks. Won't last!

That's a relief, grandMattie, I have been wondering how you were getting on.

Have a good day, everyone.

hulahoop Fri 14-Jul-23 08:58:57

Stilllearning Fri 14-Jul-23 08:46:32

Lovely picture Pittcity, she’s a wee beauty!

Sorry, forgot previously to wish everyone a good day.

Good morning from cloudy Sefton.
The hedgehog made an appearance, I’m late to get up and DGC is due any minute. Will read your messages later.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning all from a wet Shropshire. Was hoping to get a couple of plants put in the border but that might have to wait.Good job we cut the lawn yesterday.
Will make some oat cookies this morning as we are down to the last two in the barrel.
Hope everyone has a nice day and thoughts for all who have troubles or are unwell.

BlueSapphire Fri 14-Jul-23 08:39:46

Good morning everyone from a damp and wet Northampton. Have slept in a bit, and now in a rush as I am meeting a friend for coffee at 10.15, and need to be on the bus by 9.45. Just having a quick cup of tea and the cat is demanding her usual attention on my lap.

Another bad day with my hay fever yesterday, but I still went to my dance classes, which lifted my spirits.

Was very pleased with my dinner last night, Spicy Turkey and Rice, courtesy of the Hairy Dieters, easy to cook, the rice goes in with everything else, an easy one pot meal. The original recipe calls for pork, but I used turkey instead. There is enough left over to freeze for another day. Tonight is baked Chicken Tikka, chicken marinated in yogurt and spices.

Must now get my skates on and get ready.
Mick, I am sure you are looking forward to your first beer - hang in there!

Pittcity Fri 14-Jul-23 08:34:04

Good morning from a brightening Braintree. Thank you all for your good wishes on the birth of my DGD yesterday. Her brother is quite indifferent.
DD2 is understandably exhausted but both she and baby are well. It was a C section yesterday lunchtime, so I am surprised to hear that they may be home this evening.
DGS has gone to school with his Dad but we are on picking up duty.
I will tackle dirty school uniforms today.
Love to all 🦩 x

Stilllearning Fri 14-Jul-23 08:26:53

Morning from South Lanarkshire, phone typing again today, I must try to sort the iPad problem.

Congratulations on your new granddaughter Pittcity!

Lunch today with my lovely DGD1, she’s been having some issues so I hope I can manage to tread carefully but not obviously. Lines of communication are so important aren’t they?

Lots of tidying to do as well so I’ll push on. If I clear my house perhaps it will work for my brain 🤞.

Sar53 Fri 14-Jul-23 08:24:08

Good morning from the Essex coast. It's a bit grey and rain is forecast for later.
We went out for an impromptu meal last night. It was good and lovely to spend time just talking but I seem to be suffering a bit this morning.
Hopefully I will feel better later as I am helping DH with boat cleaning this morning. My job to wash all the fenders, exciting eh. It is going back into the water on Monday after being out since last November. We are hoping to motor up the Thames for most of August.
I want to get home to watch some of the tennis later.
Congratulations to Pittcity and family.
Here's hoping that Friday is a good day for you all xxx

glammagran Fri 14-Jul-23 08:23:31

Good morning all. The prospects for any outdoor activities look very limited this weekend. We were going to go to the RIAT at Fairford today but won’t as heavy rain is forecast. While I was pulling up some weeds yesterday afternoon I saw a low and thunderously loud typhoon fly almost directly overhead. DH looked in the wrong direction. He did the same thing when the red arrows flew close by a couple of weeks ago. 😂

Congratulations Pittcity on the birth of your grandaughter. There is nothing nicer than a new baby in the family.

Hope all the poorlies and families have better times ahead. Have a good day all.

baubles Fri 14-Jul-23 08:23:18

Good morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire, I’m so tired of this continual rain.

Enjoy your fish supper Mick, glad to hear that you’re enjoying your food again.

Juliee the Siberian weather sounds interesting to say the least.

gM pleased to hear that you’ve got the go ahead.

Enjoy your visit with your girls Marydoll and don’t tire yourself out before then.

Buon appetito Grammaretto.

Yesterday I had a fairly good day in the charity shop where I was covering for the manager, same charity, another branch but we do seem to have different ways of working which is quite interesting.

I have a dental appointment later which I’m really not looking forward to as I’ve to have an extraction. The tooth isn’t giving me any problems whatsoever but is a little mobile and my dentist recommends its removal before I begin taking alendronic acid for osteoporosis.
I keep losing bits of me. grin

Keeping Kalu and Urms in my thoughts and wishing everyone the best day possible.

GrannySomerset Fri 14-Jul-23 08:14:52

Damp start to the day and more rain forecast but only oldies’ coffee morning on the timetable. Interesting how green everything looks after being so bleached a week or two ago - amazing how quickly nature can recover. Hope we all have a satisfactory day, especially all dealing with illness and anxiety.

ginny Fri 14-Jul-23 08:13:48

Good morning. It’s been raining most of the night and still coming down now.
Last leg of our journey home today and I’m ready to get there. Should be back late afternoon.
DD3 has asked us to hers for a meal this evening so will look forward to hugs with DGSs 2 & 3.
Best wishes to all feeling poorly and safe journeys to the travellers.

Liberty Fri 14-Jul-23 08:11:47

Good morning from an as yet sunny north Suffolk. I am another who bemoans the A12. Unless we want to go inland we have to use it and I don’t think GG13 there are any ways round it.

The rain seems to be very localised around here. I was shopping in a small town 5 or so miles away yesterday and was caught in torrential rain. When I got home everywhere was dry but we got some several hours later.

DH and I will be walking our little dog soon. The fields of barley around us were harvested on Wednesday and the farmers always have very accurate weather forecasts. Whereas they usually start the harvesting in the evening they started quite early in the morning with 2 combines in each field. All is now safely gathered in of that crop. Wheat should be ready I think in a couple of weeks. We comment every year that the harvest starts earlier and earlier. DH thinks it must be to do with new varieties of crops.

I have a hair appointment this afternoon and otherwise a quiet day. Good to hearMick that you are feeling better and thinking of others who are unwell or worrying about family or friends.

monk08 Fri 14-Jul-23 08:06:52

Good morning all from a wet Black country looks like it's in for the day.
Mick you sound more positive this morning enjoy your fish and chips.
Marydoll enjoy your time with the dollies a natural pick me up tonic.
Meeting friends at the club later.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed. Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find ☀️.

harrigran Fri 14-Jul-23 07:59:17

Good morning from a dry NE but rain is forecast.
I am having lunch in Durham with my friend, her DH drops us off and returns to collect us. I enjoy seeing them, her DH is a first cousin of my late DH, I get to hear family news.
Spent yesterday afternoon wrapping DIL's birthday presents so she can take them tomorrow when she visits.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Jaxjacky Fri 14-Jul-23 07:51:32

Morning from a damp S Hants, rain today and tomorrow plus a wind warning, up to 50mph.
Better news Mick and good news for you gMattie.
Congratulations to Pittcity and family.
Not much on today, Tesco delivery, a walk, watch some tennis and pub tonight.
Urms Kalu and others struggling.
