Morning all, another overcast morning here in S E Essex, the weather cannot make its mind up 🤣
Teenager is up showered and fed waiting to be picked up by DS (GS is doing work experience) the other teen will probably stay in bed indefinitely 🤣
I am off for a manicure this morning, then off to Mayflower to pick up a click & collect from M & S and a quick mooch round.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from Sefton where a sunny day is forecast.
Wednesday’s long ramble with friends ended with an evening swim and further evidence that we have indeed been adopted by a large hedgehog.
Today our house alarm system will be serviced…ahem, more likely replaced. In the twenty five years since it was installed, I’ve managed to box in everything but the key pad with zillions of books and all the paraphernalia we use for days out. 🤣 This afternoon I might well join pals for tea and cake.
Whatever you intend to do, seek something which brings you joy. Thinking of those who read but aren’t posting at present.

Good morning from N Bucks where it is sunny again.
I actually slept through until 7 and was woken by Rosie licking my arm , presumably to rouse me? She sleeps in a corner of my bedroom but must have decided lying in until 7 was quite late enough!
London was tiring (when isn’t it) but the Animals exhibition at the British Library is excellent. We had lunch at the Wellcome Institute first where I was happy to see the shop has reopened, so “cuddly” toy viruses, internal organs, Covid vaccines, pens looking like syringes full of blood and eyeball, pencil toppers, skulls and brains are all available again! Some great stocking fillers.
After the exhibition we met up with D2, SIL and Gs for a meal at PizzaExpress
Home shortly before 9.
I have one main regret which was that my foot (plantar fasciitis) was really giving me gyp and made me feel very decrepit as I am used to being mobile and able to walk quite fast. I also (blush) had huge trouble trying to find a parking space I could actually FIT into at the station multi storey car park as so many BIG cars seemed to park close to the lines of each bay so as to make manoeuvring impossible and then (double blush) managed a serious scrape in an altercation with the railings at the top of a ramp. Ah well, it will be an insurance job and next years premium can be next year’s problem! I would just have preferred nobody like a 13 year-old to have witnessed it!
Off to Mission Impossible this afternoon- might even allow 🍿
Wishing you all a peaceful day and if possible, some relief from your worries or pain.
(Mick while I am probably thinking your present woes are a result of your recent surgery, nevertheless have you been tested for C.diff? It is a common infection picked up in hospital and can cause severe diarrhoea . A phone call and a stool sample to your surgery -they like them before 12- might rule that out)

Morning from a sunny S Hants, love my blackout blind, it’s ‘guess the weather’ until I get up.
MrJ’s 61st birthday, nothing special planned, he’s off on a plane tomorrow to see his family and play golf.
Good the sickness has passed Susan you must feel wrung out though.
Happy trips out and about, you’ve had a busy week Jacs, enjoy today.
As always, Urms Kalu and corner in my thoughts.

Good morning from yet another sunny start to the day in Suffolk. I can’t quite believe how the sky changes from a threatening overcast grey to a sunny blue with a very short shower, perhaps,in between. …all in a matter of minutes.

Off to my stretch class in a hour or so and then an afternoon of pottering in the garden, deadheading the roses probably and weeding again.

Latitude begins today so the roads around this part of north Suffolk will be very busy. Road signs have been up now for several days showing diversions, roads closed etc. Luckily we know the lanes very well so can follow our usual routes but we’ve found in previous years festival goers unused to these parts stuck in narrow lanes in camper vans and towing caravans.

Depending on the wind direction and standing on the doorstep we have occasionally in previous years heard the strains of music late in the evening.

Thinking of those with anxious times ahead and those living with worries now.

Good morning from a bright, dry Colchester. Another warm changeable day weatherwise.
No plans today, just going with the flow. There's always something to do.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey and misty start to the day
Nothing much planned for this morning although I’ll be busy with housework and gardening, the weeds are definitely winning this year. DH is starting a very gradual return to work today, 6 weeks after his knee replacement. Just an hour or so to start with so hopefully he’ll be ok. He has a part time gardening job at the local pub/restaurant and I think he’s missed the company
Ash hoping you have a better day today!
If you’re out and about take care travelling and enjoy!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Mizuna Thu 20-Jul-23 07:40:25

Oh dear Ash, it can only get better today!

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Yesterday did not go well. I had a disappointing phone call with my DD2 regarding plans for this weekend when we are going up to see my DGD in her Theatre Academy's Annual Show, mainly a dance showcase.

After that the Brittany Ferries’ website kept stalling when I was booking our next trip to France. Then the coffee machine wouldn’t work and DH misunderstood my idea to pick up a takeaway coffee en route to the tip. Sigh! A full and frank discussion ensued…..!

Later we ventured out to the theatre for the end of year bring and share party. We were nearly there when DH said, “Did you bring the food?” You may imagine what followed.

I hope everyone has a good day with health improving, Mick, and problems resolved harrigran.

Friends coming over later so we will probably go to the club.
Enjoy your last day of your hols Jacs have enjoyed reading it bought back memories of a holiday we had there.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning all and it’s a little overcast here in Essex.
No rain yesterday , only a drizzle first thing.
Just can’t believe the forecast!

I had a lovely day with my friend yesterday and had a wander around my childhood town. So disappointing. The market used to be buzzing with all types of stalls but is very dreary now. stores closed down and left to decay. Dirty and uncared for.
We went back to her house and had a lovely lunch and chat.
I caught the 5 o’clock train back and stopping at the next station, the driver came on the loudspeaker telling us we have to stay here for a while, not sure how long. Police then got on and walked up and down the train. I had seen a shady looking character with baseball cap, covered by a hoody and a mask.
I assume they caught him/her as we were soon in our way. But scary though! 😳😬.

Today I have bowls club and perhaps a trip to RHS Hyde Hall this afternoon, before the school holidays as it get very busy with families . We’ll probably take little DGD there some time though.

What a shame about your stools Harrigran. Annoying and frustrating.
Take it easy Susan
Mizuna your magical place sounds wonderful .
What a lovely day you had Karma . Simple pleasures.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day. 🌸

We were in Norfolk a few weeks ago Jacs.We loved Blickling Hall and gardens.Hope the weather is good for you🤞🏻

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 20-Jul-23 07:31:04

Good morning from bright but chilly (10degrees) Oxfordshire.
Pottering for me today as well, I have some sewing to do, the sale at Dunelm was online only so we came home empty handed and I’ve ordered it, it should arrive tomorrow, a waste of fuel but MrOops was happy to get out in his little car with the top down so all was well.
Let’s hope the weather holds and warms up a bit.
Thoughts are with those who are unwell or caring for loved ones.💐

Jacs7 Thu 20-Jul-23 07:07:17

Good morning everyone from north Norfolk on the last day of our holiday.

We had another good time yesterday exploring King’s Lynn. Went to the museum where part of the Seahenge is on display; the wood that made it was cut down and prepared in the spring of 2042BC and you can still see the marks of the axes that were used. Remarkable. We then went on a great historic tour all round the town with an excellent town guide; it’s a really interesting place to explore. The weather was a bit showery to start with, but everytime it poured we were inside - it’s been the same throughout the week, so the holiday gods have been looking after us!

Today we are off to Blickling Hall and gardens before we come back to pack up for our journey home tomorrow.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Today, I am going to see my friend who is still bed bound with a hospital bed in the dining room. I am hoping to persuade her to get a home visit from a private physio.

Have the best day possible everyone.

baubles Thu 20-Jul-23 07:03:48

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire, it’s bright and sunny at the moment but who knows what the weather will do.

An eyebrow wax and tint will be the height of my excitement this morning. Afterwards I’ll prepare a couple of dishes to take with us when we go on holiday on Saturday, there’s ironing to be done too.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Susan56 Thu 20-Jul-23 07:02:58

Good morning from Shropshire.Sunshine and showers forecast today with thunder mid afternoon.

Mick, I would phone the GP surgery or alternatively do you have a nurse at the hospital you can call?

I have pulled a muscle in my stomach with all the sickness so very slowly caught up with laundry and housework yesterday morning then spent the afternoon reading.

Today a quiet day until 3pm when we collect the children from school and nursery on the last day of term. They will stay overnight as DD has an early start tomorrow and a long day with graduations for a lot of her students.

Thinking of all our absent good morning friends who are coping with sadness and illness💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩🌺

Good morning from a bright and sunny East Northants, where I am at DD's.

Had a lovely evening at wine club, seeing regular members again, and meeting new ones. Our hostess decided on sparkling wine to pass judgement on, and had chosen 4 different ones for us to try. A lovely supper was provided as well.

DSon-in-law will drop me off at home on his way into work, then I'll have a quick shower and then out to the hairdressers.

Ballet class after lunch and then a Sainsburys delivery complete the day.
Wishing all a pleasant Thursday, and thinking of absent members.

grandMattie Thu 20-Jul-23 06:57:38

Good morning from a bright Bristol. We are promised a sunny morning.
I went into town yesterday morning, had bank stuff sorted, glasses straightened, etc. I was very disappointed with the stock in Fabricland - it has really gone downhill in the last year. I shall try the little shop in the next village, then Cribbs causeway. I so miss my haberdashers from Sandwich!
I had invited my upstairs neighbour ostensibly for a cuppa but really for her to admire my new floor! 😂
I sat around all afternoon waiting for the IKEA delivery, supposedly 1500-1900. Had dinner, started a zoom patchwork tutorial at 1930; they eventually arrived at 1945, interrupting my tutorial. I was not best pleased. The poor men were on their knees with exhaustion, they’d been on the road since 5 am, apparently!
Today, I’ve got tai chi, but shall try the fabric shop first…
All the best to my very dear poorly friends, hugs and flowers 💐 to them all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset. Weather will be nice and not too hot nor windy

Yesterday was wonderful, one of those uplifting days spent via a bus ride and a wonder around ancient buildings, cygnets, ducks, beautiful gardens and such nice chats at the bus stops. I learnt that there are two more markets easily accessible to me by bus. It seems that local markets have grown

Cycling exercise this morning and then the cover-all pottering, which is very relaxing and includes spinning, garden and whatever pops into my vision

Have a good day

harrigran Thu 20-Jul-23 06:35:40

Good morning from a dry NE for the time being, rain forecast by 2pm.
Shopping done and put away before lunch yesterday then SIL unpacked the bar stools and assembled them, when he finished one of the grey leather seats was stained brown. There was no way that the furniture was acceptable so had to ring the company and get instructions to return them. We had to email photographs, we got an immediate reply saying they had never seen anything like it before and I would get a full refund.

DD arrived in Newcastle at 11.30 last night after putting in a full day's work in Brussels and will probably be working from home today as only Friday and Monday are holiday. I will get to see her on Saturday and Sunday.
Have a good day all.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 20-Jul-23 06:33:24

Good morning from a sunny South Downs. Fine day forecast.

Enjoyed my day spent with friend. She has just come back from a few weeks wandering around France, and I enjoyed catching up and reminiscing over some of the areas she visited.

No plans today, which I love so will please myself. Probably in the garden.

Easy meal as well -we didn’t eat dinner last night-neither hungry, so I’ve already prepared the fish stew to the sauce stage, so just need to heat it up with the fish today and eat with some crusty bread.

mick I do hope you get your difficulty sorted out soon, as it is miserable coping with lavatory problems.

RosesandLilac Thu 20-Jul-23 06:18:39

Good morning from sunny south Gloucestershire, beautiful clear blue skies here.
Yesterday I had a lovely walk with the dog, very peaceful and relaxed then spent the morning doing chores and hardn bits. Watched the TdeF while crocheting.
Today more gardening, weeds are reappearing now it’s rained 🙄, crocheting and enjoying the sunshine.

Mizuna Thu 20-Jul-23 05:59:29

Clear sky with sun promised here in Cornwall. Mick please contact your surgery to discuss your situation. This morning more work creating my new hidden seating area in the woods above my flat, where I'll sink a small pond eventually. A magical place where I found some amazing star fungi last autumn. Then to my prayer friend's for coffee and some quiet time.

The jewellery tutor got her dates wrong so yesterday my art student and I reconvened at my place and she made some earrings from my stache. Then we found a giant powerful magnet in my grandkids' toy box and played with that and my chain collection like a couple of kids. grin
