Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
I hope your treatment goes well Mick, with no side effects.
I enjoyed the music club yesterday, although we now have too many poets and a memorial concert is being planned for our late founder and no one can agree on the format…

I will clean out my car for its MOT tomorrow and there’s always housework awaiting.
All the best to Mr.Corner and thoughts to all with troubles of any kind.

baubles Wed 26-Jul-23 08:41:58

Good morning all from bright and dry Argyll.

Wishing you well with your treatment Mick.

We had another lovely day yesterday, a good lunch out at a cafe in a tiny village a few miles away and in the afternoon DD and family went swimming. As our cottage is practically next door to the pool they all came here for a snack afterwards.

I think today may involve crabbing at the local pier.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a bright Co Armagh
Fingers crossed for mr Cornergran !
I’ve just written a cheque for a coach trip next month , the last cheque was for last years trip !

Good morning all - it’s bright here in N Bucks so I have hung out the washing I did yesterday evening but will keep a weather eye open.
After a sad and reflective day yesterday - it’s a lonely wake up call when there is nobody left to share those memories - I intend to get myself back into gear today.
I feel for you Marydoll it sounds like one of those days when you want to go back to bed and start all over again- like rebooting the computer.
Keeping everything tightly crossed 🤞 for you and Mr C Cornergran I remember too well the frustrations of cancelled procedures and things were not as shambolic then. It was hard sometimes to stay philosophical and many chocolate biscuits were consumed. Willing it to go ahead though.
My next door neighbours extension starts this morning. They are lovely people and have been very concerned about noise etc but it is the one side of my house with no windows and I’m sure I’ll be fine. I’ll turn the TV up if necessary! gringrin
With kind thoughts to all especially those in need , I’ll just wish you a pleasant day.

Nannagarra Wed 26-Jul-23 08:22:42

Every good wish for Mr Corner tomorrow.

Gingster Wed 26-Jul-23 08:18:55

Good morning all and it’s sunny but rather cool at the moment. Forecast says it will be the best day of the week for sunshine here on the Suffolk coast. We’ll go out for the day, maybe to Orford . Walk along the spit and have lunch in the pub there.

I did a lot of clipping ferns and brambles yesterday and my shoulders and neck are aching.

Fingers crossed for Mr cornergran.

Enjoy all your family times . Summer is marching on. 🌸

Grandmabatty Wed 26-Jul-23 08:14:55

Cornergran all the best for Me C tomorrow.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country rain forecast for later.
Today I need to pick up DH prescription and a trip to the bank.
Dinner at DS were we are child minding this evening while mum and dad have a date night, we will be putting the boys to bed a first for us so will have to get my bedtime story head on.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

BlueSapphire Wed 26-Jul-23 08:03:55

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, a dry day ahead, but heavy rain forecast overnight.

Had a good health walk yesterday, and then when I got home decided.to give the back grass another cut before I go away. I then did some pruning, trimmed the edges of the lawn, and scrubbed out and refilled the bird baths - was pretty much worn out after all that.

After dinner I phoned an old friend from our Cyprus days, (40 years ago!) and before we knew it an hour had gone by! I had missed her phone call to me in the afternoon, and it was lovely to catch up.

An easyish morning - just the bed to change and bedding to wash, then book club this afternoon. Oh, and the cats are being collected to go to the cattery,.so I must get their carriers ready,.and pack a bag with their bits.
Dinner tonight, thawing in the fridge, is chicken casserole.

Wishing all a pleasant Wednesday.

Marydoll Wed 26-Jul-23 07:56:05

Good morning all from a cloudy and wet Glasgow, where it is 13°C, with more rain forecast.

I'm glad to hear your appointment went OK, Mick and got the correct date.
A couple of my friends had chemo tablets after bowel cancer. As said before, a consultant called it a belt and braces approach.
You will need to be careful on those buses Mick, because the medication will compromise your immune system and Covid seems to be rearing its ugly head again.

Yesterday's visit to Silverburn did not turn out the pleasant day out, I had hoped for.
I went to M&S to pick up my Click and Collect, but the pick up area had vanished. I was all over the store, trying to find it. It had become automated, but there was no reception and I couldn't get into my phone to access the order number. What a faff!
I looked up and there was a queue of impatient mums, with bored children in tow, waiting for me to get my act together! Oh dear, when did I become an old biddy?
It didn't help that I was coughing so badly and understandably, people were looking at me, as if I had the plague. I may need to consider becoming a hermit!
I had built my self up for a couple of treats from M&S food Hall and NONE were available. My daughter's friend is an assistant manager and he kindly checked for me, to no avail. My day was not going well.

Coming out of Tesco, ( after my usual random self scan trolley search, by the usual scary assistant), I saw a text from DIL, asking if I wanted a coffee. Dollie, had spotted my car, in its usual spot, I think the fact that it is bright yellow, made it easy to spot! Unfortunately, by the time I saw the text they had given up looking for me and gone home. 😔
As usual, I had overdone things and promptly fell asleep, (in between coughing fits).

DD asked if we could take Dollie a day next week, as she had to work. Then something niggled at the back of my mind about a injection delivery, but there was nothing in the calendar. I tried to get into my account, first my pin didn't work, then I was told I did not have an account, so I decided to reset everything, that didn't work.
Eventually, I deleted the app and started again. It finally worked and I was right about a delivery, so DD had to change her working day.
I was glad to get to bed last night!

Today we have a funeral at church, a husband and wife who died withing days of each other. Last week, it was a mother and daughter, who died withing days of each other. It's all very upsetting.
All the fit sacristans are on holiday, so I am going down to church, to help things run smoothly. I hope I can remember all the protocols for a funeral. The last time I had to do one, was pre pandemic.

Thinking of all who are struggling. Am I correct that this is the week of Mr Corner's op? I have lost track.
Mizuna, I hope you find those trainers and multi, enjoy your meet up with F.

Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.

cornergran Wed 26-Jul-23 07:53:28

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is starting bright, rain due by lunch time.

General pottering yesterday and a short walk on a very windy prom. We found a sheltered spot by an outdoor cafe for a coffee and wave watched for ages.

A call to Admissions confirmed Mr C is still on the list for tomorrow. A 7am arrival means an unreasonably early start which is fine as if there are no emergency admissions he’ll be in theatre by 9, little waiting for him. We don’t quite dare to believe it but are hopeful it will be fourth time lucky with no last minute cancellation. The availability of an ICU bed is critical. 🤞 here.

That sounds a reassuring appointment mick, build up trips out gradually though. It’s good to be wanted and a valued part of your church community grandmatty , but please only agree to offer support if you’re happy to do it. Sounds a busy time ahead ash. Weather forecasts aren’t known for their reliability Susan, hope yours is wrong. Good news about your husbands recovery brook. I was unreasonably excited when told I could drive again. That soon wore off grin.

Not sure if I’ll get in for the next few days. Will be thinking of you all and hoping life is kind.

Nannagarra Wed 26-Jul-23 07:52:36

Good morning from another pocket of Sefton. It’s sunny at present which I assumed would last all day but, as is customary, Gala’s more up to speed with the weather than I am.
A local ramble to enjoy dragonflies and the newly-erupting fungi, a food delivery and the collection of a “clicked” household item will keep us busy.
Last night, as it didn’t rain, tawny owls could be heard. The hedgehog/s continue to visit - something we keenly encourage.
Having the treatment at home will be easier for you, Mick. Thinking of Urms and Kalu and sending best wishes to everyone.
🌻 🍄 🦔

GrannyGravy13 Wed 26-Jul-23 07:44:36

Morning all from a blue skied S E Essex.

Mick wishing you well for the coming months of chemo tablets, they are a much gentler alternative than infusions.

Just checked my back balance, my first state pension payment has arrived, I am officially an OAP, not sure how I feel about being old

Had a lovely day with three GC, two nieces along with my sister and DiL here yesterday. The children spent most of the afternoon in the pool despite the clouds and rain 🤣🤣

Today I am going to a friends house with one GC, her GC will be there along with another friend and GC. I was at school with her DH many years ago., the other friends DD was at school with myDD, our GC are at the same school that our DD’s attended.

Their house is very child friendly, they have a pool and five acres of garden and woodland the children can roam and play freely, we can chat and drink tea.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🎉

Urmstongran Kalu Baggs you are held in my thoughts and prayers 🌼

ginny Wed 26-Jul-23 07:39:48

Good morning everyone.
We are expecting a bright morning but cloud later.
I am taking a friend out for a belated 80th birthday lunch today. She is the person who runs the craft club with me so we shall also be chatting about projects for the c****** term.
This evening I have WI committee meeting.
Wishing all as good a day as possible.

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jul-23 07:38:54

Morning from a sunny S Hants, it feels a little chilly, rain due this evening. I’m pleased your appointment went well Mick.
Welcome coco12 have a good day at work.
Off to post a parcel today, probably recorded delivery, our village PO is very erratic, so I’ll go further afield.

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining but rain forecast for later.

I am glad you have a treatment plan in place Mick and hope it goes well.I am sure you felt better in yourself for getting out and about.

A day of enforced rest for me today after an injection in my shoulder yesterday.Feels ok at the moment but apparently it can take up to 24 hours for the anaesthetic to wear off so will rest as instructed.

The weather isn’t looking good for our seaside break with the children☹️DD and family were hoping to camp nearby but will cancel if the weather is awful.

I hope Marydoll is feeling better and that Mr cornergrans operation is going ahead🙏🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

brook2704 Wed 26-Jul-23 07:28:27

Good morning everyone from a bright and dry Inverness, no sunshine but at least the clouds are light grey.
Hope the chemo treatment goes well for you mick, take it easy and look after yourself
It’s workout Wednesday at the gym this morning so I’ve a couple of classes to get through before having a dip in the pool and then a rest this afternoon and hopefully some gardening if it’s dry. DH had his 6 week post op review by video call yesterday, all went well and he was ok’d for driving and short haul flights so that’s good - as I’ve plans afoot! He’s still attending physio sessions though for a while yet.
Hope you enjoy your meet up in St Andrews multi, a lovely place.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Whitewavemark2 Wed 26-Jul-23 07:20:53

Good morning from a glorious South Downs. Full sun forecast all day, so out into the garden I go.

As the seasons progress different parts of the garden come into their own, now it is the late summer borders time to shine, and all too soon it will be the autumn border full of colour - it is already developing all its buds, the bees find each bed as it opens out. My goodness this year is going too quickly particularly the summer!

I must also tackle the ironing.

Veggie day today so
Vegetarian carbonara

Grandmabatty Wed 26-Jul-23 07:20:49

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and damp. Mick I'm glad your meeting went well. Multi enjoy your day at St Andrews. GrandMattie only offer as much as you want to. Toddlers are a hard shift!
Yesterday was a good day with the boys. We spent a lovely two hours in the park, then home for lunch. Dgs2 had a good nap and dgs1 played with toys quietly. He was a star yesterday. A walk to the swings in the late afternoon and then home. Later I visited mum who was interested in hearing about the holiday but then fell asleep.
Today is my day for doing very little. I intend to go to the local hospice charity furniture shop. The boys' room is very cluttered and I want a piece of storage for all their stuff. I also need to spend time clearing it out and getting rid of baby toys. Have a good day all

Pittcity Wed 26-Jul-23 07:17:39

Good morning from cloudy Somerset. We had a day on the beach yesterday with the obligatory fish and chips with a 99 for dessert.
It was windy but warm and we only had one quick shower. Everything was full of sand.
Today we are exploring Wookey Hole, somewhere I've never been. The weather is forecast to be dull all day with occasional showers.
Love to all 🦩 x

coco12 Wed 26-Jul-23 07:14:49

Good morning all from a slightly cloudy yorkshire. Getting ready for work but first a nice coffee from my trusty mokka pot. Any coffee enthusiasts here?
Wishing you a nice day and hope the sun puts in an appearance at least.

Mick I wish you well with your chemo medication my friend has been taking chemo tablets which have worked wonderfully well with no side effects.
at last I have managed the big tidy after having my gc stay over for a night it was such fun, bedding everywhere, now back into its usual place - the storage space under my tv bed,
Must wash my hair this morning I’ve got a meet up in St Andrews with another gn.

Love to all today keep well and safe

glammagran Wed 26-Jul-23 07:06:16

Good morning all. After a day of recovery on Monday after having the 2 small GCs overnight on Saturday we had GS aged 2 yesterday. He was on excellent form though. Today is the turn of his sister aged 4 who broke up from school last week. Having them both on the same day is just too much.

I have BP review by telephone appt this morning. Dinner will be homemade rogan gosht and dahl from the freezer. I wish summer would reappear.

Have a good day everyone.
