Yesterdays Hospital appointment went OK .
I will have have a 6 month course of tables for Chemotherapy, hoping this clears a tumor in my stomach .
It as nice to get away from flat , today I plan to do a small local shop , before getting back into a routine such as bus journeys , but no coach tours .
Take Care,
Mick

No, there was one recently, [last month?] attacking me for calling the residents in the complex "inmates"...
I have to say that many contributors were incredibly supportive of me! Thank you again

Not the first, probably the third!
That is a shocker!

I remember those Grandmabatty. Fortunately they don’t last long.

I recall a few in previous years who were probably teenagers trying to shock grannies. And a couple of unpleasant people who wanted to disrupt the gentle flow.

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Today is one of those beautiful days of sunshine, blue skies and a cool breeze -- that I associate with early September--. Already the washing is done and put and mowing of the second front lawn complete and I am sitting by the pond with a banana and a bottle of water, having just fed the fish (see photo). There are things to be done indoors, but who cares! Later.
Mick, so glad everything went well yesterday and you are looking forward more positively. Enjoy that first trip on the bus - but not before your body is ready!
🤞🙏 for Mr C tomorrow, Cornergran.
Grannygravy you've done it now! However much I congratulate you on becoming an OAP, you have made me feel terribly, terribly old! I've been sitting trying to remember becoming one myself, but I genuinely can't it's so long ago Oh dear! Anyway, enjoy your hard-earned spoils.
Foxygloves all of us who are widowed can sympathise with how you feel. It's 29 years in September since I joined the ranks but even now, sometimes, I just yearn for his hugs. So hugs for you too. I know St Andrews well - was at school there for a few years and then taught there until we married and moved away. At the time of your wedding we were living in Cornwall with our two baby boys.
Jax it's a shame you can't find tai chi near you - it seems to be in 'pockets' round the country. If you Google 'tai chi on the beach' you might find a film taken of us a few weeks ago. Not at our best though - shifting sands beneath our feet don't make for elegant balance!
Welcome to our newbies, Coco and Paloma - I hope you pop in often.
Hope everyone enjoys their day - surely a better one than yesterday Marydoll, and enjoy St Andrews, multi.

Morning from Giffnock, children off to summer camp, they go four days a week for two weeks and absolutely love it. Thank goodness it’s available, my extended childminding days are definitely over. It was wonderful to see them though, DGS’s swimming is much improved evidently after two weeks of daily pool dips.

Exercise class and coffee catch up later.

Glad you know what the plan is now Mick, I hope you get back to your frequent bus journeys soon, you must be really missing seeing your friends.

Will be thinking specially about the Corners as well as our much missed Urms and Kalu, you too Baggs

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 26-Jul-23 10:21:17

Good morning one ans all. Trying to type as I cycle!
Welcome Paloma, from another NEasterner.
Georgesgran, I hate the Western Bypass. Our DD1 lives north of Newcastle and we haven’t driven there in 5 years
🤞 for Mr Cornergran, thoughts for all with problems.

Blossoming Wed 26-Jul-23 10:11:43

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. Good that your appointment went well Mick, hope the chemotherapy does the trick.

Yesterday was spent attempting to sort out the huge heap of cables, dongles and ancient tech I have accumulated over the course of my working life. It all needs to go to the recycling centre. No real plans for today, a pottering kind of day. The weather is beautiful.

Hoping all goes smoothly tomorrow Cornergran.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms, Baggs and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌻

Gala Wed 26-Jul-23 10:01:07

eat herb! a novel way of spelling weather.

Gala Wed 26-Jul-23 09:59:25

What corner said about Susan's eat herb forecast nannag. They're often wrong. Hoping ours is. I'm getting quite tanned but I think it's rust!

Georgesgran Wed 26-Jul-23 09:57:38

Good morning from Durham, where it’s very cloudy. A handyman has arrived at the house opposite. Everyone knows they’re moving, but as they don’t speak to anyone we just await a ‘for sale’ board! It seems as if all the jobs that haven’t been tackled for years are finally on track - a ridge tile has been off 10 years!
I get DD2’s little dog later again for another week. He hardly seems to be home at the moment. Unfortunately DGS1 isn’t a dog fan, so the dog goes home for Friday, while I have DGS1 here! Up and down that bl**dy Western Bypass roadworks.
DH had oral chemo Mick without any side effects, other than that the capsules were huge. Take it easy though.
Good news for the Corners
Best wishes to all. X

Morning from a currently sunny S Yorks. I’ve dared to put the washing out but on hangers, as I don’t trust the sun lasting.

I’m another who uses a local garage instead of the Volvo dealership which assumes that we are all swimming in money, and very happy as they collect the car and deliver back. I’m only using the car for vv local drives atm as car need special smoke tests and my garage has just agreed to buy the equipment to do them so I don’t have to go further afield …
but it does mean no little car outings to get some country views of the lovely High Peak for a couple of weeks.

Coco I’m another who cant start the day without my lattes.
Mick it must be a relief not to have to start going in weekly: hoping it works out well for you.

cornergran fingers and toes crossed!

Palomablanca just be selective and cautious until you find your way around, you’ll be fine.

Having a day at home so will try to catch up on some bits and bobs.

Bests for poorlies today and may outings be sunny and enjoyed.

GrannySomerset Wed 26-Jul-23 09:17:56

An empty day ahead apart from some reluctant housework as Wonderful Cleaner is suffering from the results of a fall, poor soul - tripped over a paving stone with a bag of shopping in each hand and consequently her face bore the brunt. Not nice.

Fingers crossed for MrCorner and anyone waiting anxiously for the NHS to do its job. The uncertainty makes things so much harder.

Grammaretto Wed 26-Jul-23 09:16:55

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Wet here and cold.
Yarn group for a nice coffee and natter and some knitting
I am having lunch with a French girl who was here about 6 years ago as a helper. Today I'm meeting her DH and little boy! How time flies.

Mick I hope the medication works and you can enjoy your coach trips once more.

Marydoll such a disappointing day for you.
All the best to the Corners and ofcourse our absent friends. Kalu and Urms

I wish I could send sunshine your way ☀️

Welcome to Paloma and Coco I hope you enjoy the group.

🤞for MrC tomorrow
👋 hello and welcome Palomablanca

RosesandLilac Wed 26-Jul-23 09:08:29

Good morning from sunny south Gloucestershire, just back from a warm dog walk, rather pleasant after all the rain.
Today we might go for a longer walk across the hills and perhaps a pub lunch afterwards, seems like a good idea to me!
Yesterday we went into town for a few bits then to B&Q for DH to buy a new pond pump. It’s the first time I’ve been into shops for several months 🙄

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jul-23 09:00:41

Welcome Palermablanca no aggro on this thread.

grandMattie Wed 26-Jul-23 09:00:37

All crossed for the Cornergrans. 🫂❤️

harrigran Wed 26-Jul-23 08:59:55

Good morning from a dry, for now, NE.
We had thunder yesterday evening but it did not last too long.
I have a delivery between 10 and 11am and SIl is coming to take me shopping.
Had a lazy day yesterday, watched all four episodes of the sixth commandment while doing crosswords.
Pleased your appointment was okay Mick.
Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 26-Jul-23 08:57:40

Fingers crossed for MrC tomorrow 🤞

Thorntrees Wed 26-Jul-23 08:56:37

Good morning from a sunny Shropshire.
Need to mow the lawn today in case of rain tomorrow. DH and I do it between us as it’s got too much for him to do it all on his own.
Bed changing later and a walk this afternoon.
Annual blood tests showed a slightly raised blood sugar level so trying to up exercise ahead of next check in three months - and cut down on sugary food as well.
Thinking of Mr Corner, hope all goes to plan tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a nice day.
