Thanks Grandmabatty. My mind had wandered to grey rock. 😂
Significant rise in both anti-semitism and Islamophobia
What time do you get up and go to bed?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dull and grey here in brackley also overnight rain.
Did a successful walk to local supermarket yesterday , today weather permitting I plan to get the bus to Bicester ,and maybe get a much needed haircut .
Take Care,
Mick
Thanks Grandmabatty. My mind had wandered to grey rock. 😂
Good morning from ‘back home’ in coastal West Sussex. It is quite damp here though not actually raining at the moment.
We set off mid-afternooon yesterday with no plan as to where to stop overnight. We drove until midnight which got us south of Birmingham. We then just stopped with the lorries in a lay-by - very close to Brackley, Mick. The lorries swooshed past us all night long but I slept remarkably well, DH not so well.
We have brought everything in from the van and had a late breakfast. Now catching up on post (and GN!). No plans for today apart from putting everything away and having a nap 🥱
Hoping all is going well for MrCorner.
NannaGarra the blocked poster's name was Paloma Blanc's, Spanish for white dove
Can I ask what white dove is, Georgesgran?
Hope all goes well for the Corners. Happy new haircut, Mick. Take it easy Marydoll. Thinking of Urms, kalu and Baggs and all with stresses.
Good morning from a damp muggy Co Armagh, it’s not actually raining though
Yesterday morning there was great agricultural activity! The fields had been harvested the day before , so they were going as hard as they dared to bale the straw and get it under cover , the street was very muddy , but the rain then came on with a vengeance and cleared most of it
Last night we got thunder, one power outage so I went to bed early
Mass this morning, lit candles , thought of Corner and all the rest of our poorly , but glad to see better posts 😁
Good morning from West York's it's very ☁ no rain as yet. We changed to sky stream but not happy with it ,we have had a lot of problems in the 2/3months we have had it not a biggy in the scheme of things. Hope mr Corner is in theatre now . Happy to hear your good news Marydoll nothing planned today so a general tidy up.
Good morning everyone from grey cloudy Lancashire. Sounds like you’re slowly improving Mick, enjoy the bus ride.
No real plans for today. The boiler service is booked for next Tuesday morning so I will make a start on emptying the airing cupboard. I can put stuff in my office once I finish the clear out and vacuum. It’s looking rather wet outside so I may have to forego a walk. I’m getting plenty of exercise indoors at the moment.
I’m glad you’ve had some positive news Marydoll. I think you find it hard to refuse when people ask you to do something. Don’t let yourself be overburdened, so you can enjoy those precious good days.
Fingers crossed for Cornergran and her DH today.
Thinking of Kalu, Urms, Baggs and all who are dealing with illness right now.
Have a good day all 🌻
Good morning from Durham.
Dry now, although it rained earlier. I’ve an empty sort of day, but I’ve two enormous bagfuls of DD2’s laundry and her little dog here. I had to carry the bags one at a time, so lots to get on with. Dog might be going home later, but if not, in the morning, as I have DGS1 and he’s dog wary. More Western Bypass malarkey! Spent another hour with Scottish Power about a refund due from March - I’d never recommend them to anyone in a thousand years.
Good news Marydoll. You must be relieved, long may it last. Mick too, out and about.
Hope the Corners are ok.
That poster used a variation of white dove and claimed to be from up here, but I didn’t twig anything. There are some strange folk?
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
It's not raining at this minute but no sunshine.
The plumber turned up yesterday just when I was about to remind him to change the valve in the central heating so that my tenant can heat the flat if when she needs to. She's a tough lady who goes wild swimming but our winter can be brutal.
I'm meeting a df for lunch today for a good catch-up. The bus times have changed so I have to work out a change of route.
I'm still waiting for a cataract op so only drive in emergencies.
I'm sure your haircut will make you feel better Mick
Look after yourselves everyone but especially Marydoll.
Thinking of the corners, Kalu and Urms and hoping for happier days ahead.
Good morning from a damp, grey W Kent. Shopping with two early 20s boys was interesting, amazing jacket purchased in the sale at Zara. They are certainly easy to shop with. Today is apparently more retail therapy further into Kent. DH retreats to the nearest coffee shop.
Thinking of the Cornergrans today and very pleased to hear you have had better news Marydoll. Have a good haircut Mick and maybe get your feet up gM. Best wishes to all
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Off in a min to take the car for its MOT 🤞Fourteen years old and spent some money on it last year so hope that sees it through. It prompted me to give it a good clean out yesterday. My bad back wasn’t keen on that, so I smeared it in Voltarol, back support on and took Paracetamol.
Hope you enjoyed your trip out Mick, thoughts to Corner today and all with worries of any kind🌸
Good morning from a damp and dull Essex coast. What a difference to yesterday where it was warm and sunny until the evening.
Food shopping first thing, nothing planned for the rest of the day.
Thinking of the Corners today and anyone else going through trying times.
Have a pleasant day xxx
Good morning, late for me, from a cloudy Cornwall. My family are off to the Eden Project today, which the children absolutely love. I enjoy it but not at this time of year when it's so busy. I think I'll pop over to my favourite charity shop in the next town and have a coffee there.
Good morning from a bright Shropshire.
Waiting for the washing machine repair man and a Morrisons delivery which will no doubt arrive at the same time!!
Had a nice walk through the fields yesterday and just home before the rain came.
Thinking of the*Corners*,hope everything goes well.
Hope everyone has a nice day.xx
Good morning all from N Bucks where it may be brightening up but there was a fine mizzle when I let the dog out earlier. Everything still very wet from last nights rain.
I think I am going out to lunch in Woburn with two friends today, not sure where, but they were very enthusiastic about it!
Need to clear the ironing first though as yesterday was actually a good drying day so the basket has filled up again.
I hope there will be good news from Cornergran soon and send kind thoughts to all the others with their mountains to climb.
Good morning all. A miserable damp day on the Angus coast - but I remember yesterday with delight and a long sojourn by the pond. More of that please!
I hope you manage that haircut today Mick.
🙏 And thoughts with Mr C today, and with you as you wait Corner.
Good to get encouraging news Marydoll - no cartwheels round the garden in celebration though ,😉
Happy Birthday to your DS grandmattie. You'll be missing him, and your holidaying family. Enjoy your quiet day.
I'm off to Tai chi shortly, followed by a visit to the fish shop and a lazy afternoon.
Enjoy your days everyone, and perhaps the sun will put in an appearance later x
Book group this morning but at least two members won’t be there so it might be hard work discussing two books set in the twenties. Must do my best.
Thinking of the Corners this morning and taking pleasure from the slightly more positive news from Mick and Marydoll and hoping for a good enough day for all of us.
Good morning from a very chilly and wet Oxfordshire.
Another pottering day today with a brief visit to White Horse Hill to collect the car from the Garage, if it’s fixed.
Have a good day everyone, thoughts are with Urms, Baggs Kalu and MrCorner
Let’s hope the sun comes out.
Good morning all from rainy Argyll.
This is the first day of our holiday that we’ve woken to rain but it was expected so DD has booked tickets to see the Barbie movie in Oban. The girls will enjoy it I’m sure.
Hoping all goes well for MrC today. Marydoll, may your new medication help you feel better soon.
Thinking of Kalu, Baggs and Urms especially.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning marydoll it was a lovely day yesterday in St Andrews I managed a meet up after all with our mutual acquaintance how are you doing? we had a good catch up might go to the Beijing banquet it Glenrothes next time it’s going to be a good day here on the east coast of Fife im getting 3 cousins visiting todayfor a catch up
grandMattie
*Marydoll*, thank you, but Philip’s birthday was 4 May - Star Wars Day [May the Fourth be with you! 🤣] He was my baby…
No, this is No. 1 son.
That's my daughter's birthday too, GM!
Good morning all from an overcast Black country, yesterday was fine until the evening when the rain never stopped. DS and DiL were at the secret cinema which is outdoors so they arrived back rather wet but they'd had an enjoyable evening so no complaints. The boys very good to bed when told with 2 story books ready for grandma to read.
Today a quiet day with a local shop.
Good to hear your news was a bit more positive Marydoll but still take it easy.
🤞all goes well with MrC.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is damp but mild.
Not much planned for today; DH is off on his regular Thursday golf match with his golfing cronies. I have an appointment with the osteopath later this morning; I have some discomfort with my thumbs which is a bit of a puzzle. I don’t think it’s arthritis so he is going to try some medicinal acupuncture to see if that helps.
My watercolour painting yesterday was a bit of a disappointment and turned out not to be my best effort! Still, I enjoyed the struggle! I might try a different one today.
Hope you all have a good day; thinking of Corner and her DH and hope everything goes well.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cloudy South Yorkshire. I slept relatively well last night but I’m really tired this morning and toying with the idea of skipping my Thursday walk. I have to go over there anyway to put some stuff in DD’s fridge - they are flying home from holiday tonight. An old friend rang yesterday and we had a long and rather hilarious chat. Our families were neighbours in the Netherlands where he and DH were serving at the NATO base there. We’ve been friends ever since. He’s not been well and it’s good to hear him back on form. We always make each other laugh.
My thoughts with Corner and Mr C today.
Have the best day you can folks.
