Is Summer over?

Has it begun ? A few days of hot weather about 2 months ago.
Earlier on they said there would be heatwaves in July . So, shan’t hold my brea for August.

It feels like it, a burst of sun and about 25 would be welcome, I’ve scheduled a family BBQ over the BH with optimism and🤞🤞.

I didn't realise it had begun (here in "sunny" Yorkshire.)

Been picking last black currants and start of black berries in my garden. I reckon yes summer is over today outskirts of Liverpool there was a bit of sun. But the garden is drenched from the persistent rain.
I reckon we might get a few nice days but then it will start to be like autumn 🍁

After rain every day here in north Norfolk since Lord knows when, we had a dry day on Wednesday and another today. Not enough to catch up properly with the garden but some progress was made. Apparently we have another few days of rain forecast from tomorrow and it’s forecast to continue well into August. I prefer cooler temperatures but the rain encourages the weeds. Doubtless later in August/September I’ll be complaining about the heat. I remember the days when (in East Anglia) autumn began in September, winter bedding and bulbs were planted before the frosts and the garden was put to bed ready for spring. It seems like a very long time ago

We have had rain every day for almost 3 weeks in our part of Brum. It was sunny today but then clouded over and there was a drop of rain. The forecast for the next 10 days is rain every day. It's depressing.

It’s a good year for blackberries here; and hazel nuts - trees are groaning with them.

I’ve had my heating on for the past few nights.

Still waiting for summer might of missed it last month though! We’re here in the sunny north east where we get lighter days that’s our summer!

Had a fabulous day in the Cotswolds yesterday - sunny and warm with just a light breeze. Drove home last night and the closer we got to home (Surrey) the blacker the clouds got, the cooler it got and then it drizzled with rain. Felt like we'd left another country but it was only a two hour drive.

It was about 2 weeks, I clearly remember it, about 2 months ago now lol

We’ve still got August and September! To me, September is still summer.
Despite quite a bit of cloud, it was very pleasantly warm here today, not autumnal at all. I did see some ripe blackberries while out for a walk, though.
Yes, Wyllow3, a fortnight of really good weather would be lovely before the children all go back to school.

The Met Office say we are going to have another spell of hot weather in August. When I say “we” they mean the South East. Whether it’ll reach us “up ‘ere in’t North” they haven’t said. I’ve never known a summer as windy as this one - it seems to have been blowing non-stop!

I'd like another burst of hot (but not too hot) sunny weather - isn't the last half of August due to be like that? And it is nice for summer holiday grandchildren to be able to be out water play in the garden all afternoon: strolls in woods and the wind on bare arms etc.

To add insult to injury have seen tubs of celebrations,heroes ,quality street in Tesco,normally they appear end of August.

Beautiful in our town. After days of rain , 23 degrees. Was light until about 9.45 yesterday. Bit cloudy but tide in, plenty going on. Washing dry, bonus. Out and about, looks like same tomorrow, ready for a barbecue. Sure we'll get more days like this.
