Good evening kitchen pals, lovely to chat with you all here
soop well done with the painting and so pleased it was really appreciated - enjoy the exercise bike but don’t go too far or too fast!
Yes we’re having gorgeous weather too grandmabatty, thanks for asking. It’s been such a beautiful day. Well done to your DGS for being such a good role model and helping others
I’m just the same grannmarie the suns been so hot for gardening so I sat for a while under the parasol at the end of the garden listening to the birds singing
Good to hear you’re feeling better llfl

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.
We are all very fond of you too, Soop, and of this special Kitchen. 🥰 You and MrSoop will be looking forward to seeing your family visitors soon, have a lovely time.

I have come in from the garden because its too hot for me! I enjoy the sun but I can't sit out too long. I've now got the fan on in the living room, cooling down in time for Richard Osman's House of Games, one of my favourite quiz shows ( after the Monday evening ones!)

Safe journey, Nannytopsy, take care in the continental sun!☀

Glad you're feeling a good bit better, Ladyleftfieldlover.

What a lovely report for your DGS1, Grandmabatty, what a kind boy looking after the wee ones.

Hope everyone has had some nice time in the sunshine, TOYA.

Good afternoon kitcheners. Oh boy, it's been warm. Dgs2 and I went to the big park, fed the swans, walked round and spoke to everyone passing and spent half an hour in the play park. Then home to play in the garden, walk to the swings and speak to my neighbours. I organised a man to remove some rubbish from my garden and he duly appeared while dgs2 was having a nap. Dgs1 got a glowing report from nursery today for helping all the new children and being a good role model. Needless to say, his grandma was very proud of him. So we have had a lovely day, although I'm tired now. Ladyleftfieldlover sadly I am known for spilling stuff all over my clothes. Nannytopsy it sounds lovely. Safe journey onwards. Soop we keep a seat near the fire just for you. I hope Mr C and Cornergran had a decent day today. Brook are you having the good weather too?
Tonight I'm making a chicken curry and that'll do tomorrow too. Have a good evening Kitcheners

Hello Kitchen people and especially Soop!
I am feeling better than yesterday but not up to going shopping. OH did it instead.
I have had to change my dress twice! The first time when plant food sprayed everywhere. The second time I splashed paint. I have been trying our paint samples in our downstairs bedroom/ study. The containers leaked. The decorators are coming on 16 October.
OH is at the Optician where he expects to spend lots of money on new glasses. Ah, I can see his car. Back later.

Nannytopsy Tue 05-Sept-23 16:08:12

Good late afternoon from
Conde sur Sarthe where we are an hour ahead. It’s very warm and tomorrow we we go further south, where it’s even hotter. Thank goodness for a car with air conditioning!
We are just having a nap before dinner - the alarm went off at 5 am 😱.
Enjoy the Indian summer at home

soop Tue 05-Sept-23 15:14:27

I haven't been spending as much time with you lovely lot as I would like. Every day presents us with stuff that needs attention before our visitors pay us a visit. hmm

In due course, I hope to be back in the old routine. Believe me, I am extremely fond of all our Kitcheners. flowers smile moon

soop Tue 05-Sept-23 15:08:58

Yia Us lot would lurve to see your wedding hat (in due course).
Congratulations to the happy couple.

The lady was delighted with the painting. I was relieved when she said that it was better than she hoped it would be. The tendons in my right hand are very tight. The fingers are claw shaped. Holding the brush is not as natural as it once was. Hey ho!

The exercise bike has arrived. Mr Soop is sitting on the floor with components, that when assembled, should result in an actual bike that works. Bless him. He is so patient. smile

Our neighbour has recovered from ten days of suffering with Covid. He tells us that he has never felt so ill. He is a very fit man. Works like a trojan. In fact, over five years, he has completely gutted and rebuilt the bungalow next door. As for the landscaping of the garden...Wow!

soop Tue 05-Sept-23 14:55:26

Hello Urmstongran. It is always a pleasure to have you pop into the kitchen. You are our guest of honour. flowers

Congratulations to your son and his bride to be Yia

Blossoming Mon 04-Sept-23 20:46:54

Good evening dear Kitcheners, it’s been very hot here, the summer frocks are back out again. I gave up on my workroom reorganisation and went for a stroll instead, MrB had been tending the greenhouse plants so decided on an afternoon nap in the relative cool of the upstairs sitting room instead!

I love watching the water 😊

brook2704 Mon 04-Sept-23 20:44:55

Thanks Scapa 😀

Scapa1 Mon 04-Sept-23 20:06:31

Brook2704 yes there is a hotel and Conference Centre at Stirling Uni. New fridge delivered this morning very good service we only ordered it yesterday lunchtime! Out for coffee this afternoon with my SiL it was another lovely afternoon so we sat outside. She is recovering slowly from broken ribs after having a fall in her kitchen so her outings have been restricted recently as she finds it difficult and painful to change gear.
Just about to start a Tesco order after this. Congratulations to the happy couple YiaYia4 lovely news.

Grandmabatty Mon 04-Sept-23 19:16:46

Yiayia many congratulations to your ds and his bride to be!

Grannmarie Mon 04-Sept-23 19:09:08

How romantic, YiaYia, many congratulations to the happy couple!

brook2704 Mon 04-Sept-23 19:00:08

Thanks grandmabatty I remember staying there a good few years ago, I can’t remember why though
Congratulations to the happy couple Yia, something to look forward to - and a new hat of course!
It’s been the most gorgeous warm sunny day here, so lovely to be in the garden. We dropped DGS off at school first thing, he’s almost 10 now but still likes his cuddles with me in the morning 🥰 so I treasure every minute. Then back home for a tidy up and then I went out just before 5 to try a new body conditioning class at the gym - it was good but hard work. I’m ready for a rest this evening now. I picked up a Camembert and chilli quiche from Aldi - sounded different so thought I’d try it amd it’s delicious
Quite right to make the most of the weather grannmarie and sit in the garden, I hope you had a lovely rest x

Jaxjacky Mon 04-Sept-23 18:37:34

How lovely Yia many congratulations to them 🥂🎉
I haven’t walked as much as usual today, I need to go out early to avoid the heat, by the time I’d been to the library and fuelled my car it was too warm.
It was quite busy on the voluntary phone today; lots more tomatoes picked, quiz at 8.
Urms good to see you and Dixon x
Enjoy your even8ng all.

Yiayia4 Mon 04-Sept-23 17:53:42

So good to see you Urms love to you both.
Enjoy the sunshine Grandmarie.
Chicken and chips sounds great Grandmabatty. We are using things in the freezer this week found a chicken traybake, that will do nicely.

DGS2 has done it after 10 years together.Very happy for them both, now I can buy the hat.🤣

Grandmabatty Mon 04-Sept-23 17:26:26

Good afternoon kitcheners. Both boys have been dropped off home. Grandma is rather exhausted. Dgs2 and I played in the garden this morning and went to the charity shop to drop off stuff. I managed to buy cars while there for the boys. He had his lunch and went for a nap but woke crying after an hour. His teeth are bothering him. So a dose of calpol then cuddles. We picked up dgs1 who didn't want to play outside but watched tv for a while. It has been a blistering hot day (for Scotland). Scapa I particularly like Stirling Uni grounds in autumn when the trees begin to turn colour. Brook there used to be a hotel at the entrance to the campus which was very popular with students. Grannmarie I hope you enjoyed your time in the garden. Soop the painting is lovely. Tonight I'll visit mum then home for chicken and chips. Have a good evening Kitcheners

Grannmarie Mon 04-Sept-23 13:56:05

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. 🥰
Soop, you are indeed a talented lady, I'm sure the recipient will treasure the portrait.

Cornergran, what a worrying time for you both, but thankfully MrC got excellent care, very promptly, that's reassuring.

Brook, your DH is making great progress with his new knee, you'll have to timetable your gym visits!

Lovely to see you popping in, Urms, sending love and prayers for you and Himself. 💕🙏 One day at a time.

Safe journey and happy holidays, Nannytopsy!

Your DGS will love his card, well done YiaYia.

Hope you feel better soon, Ladyleftfieldlover.

Hope things improve for your friends, Annsixty, they'll be glad of your company and support. I'm glad youre getting out and about on your scooter.

Glad you're feeling a bit better, Blossoming. Take it gently.

Lovely photos, Scapa, my DSIS2 studied at Stirling University, it is a lovely campus indeed.

SueD, great to hear that your DS continues to improve.

Dustyangel, I'm glad you and your DH eventually enjoyed your meal!

I hope Grandmabatty is enjoying the sunshine ☀ with her wee boys today, after all her excitement at the gallery showing last week. I remember the singer Horse, her writing partner was at school with DSis1. Careful was their biggest hit, I think, in the 80s?

We are having a lovely spell of warm sunny weather, I'm wearing a linen shift dress, it didn't get much wear over the disappointing summer! I walked up and down to Mass this morning, around two miles, DS3 has borrowed my car.

Washing out, I'm going to sit in the garden with my knitting and make the most of the sunshine ☀.

TOYA, take care.

SueDonim Sun 03-Sept-23 23:09:14

That’s hard, Annsixty. flowers
Love photos, Scapa! Scotland seems to be basking in sunshine at the moment. ☀️
Love that bling car, Yia! 🚙
Bon voyage, Topsy! 🇫🇷
How lovely to hear from you, Urms. You’re often in my thoughts. Xx
Hope you feel better tomorrow, LLFL.

A quiet day for us, though we did make it to the garden centre (where I met our NDN) and had a little drive around. We FaceTimed with son in the US so that was good. He’s looking a lot better now, though still has brain fog from his treatment. That should lift eventually, though. We were taken aback when he casually mentioned that our GS, aged 13y9m, will be learning to drive in less than two years time!!! He can’t have a licence until he’s 16, tho. Growing up too fast!

TOYA. Xx

brook2704 Sun 03-Sept-23 20:52:09

Thanks for the pictures Scapa is there a hotel in the grounds of the university too? I seem to remember staying there once a few years ago

brook2704 Sun 03-Sept-23 20:34:48

A lovely picture soop I’m sure it’ll be very well received, you’re very talented
Good to see you Urms
I’ve had a lovely busy day but not what I’d planned at all! DD2 messaged this morning saying DGD wanted to come round for lunch so it was a lovely surprise to see her. We took her back home about 4pm and then DGS asked if he could come for a sleepover - he didn’t want to miss out 🤣 so he’s tucked up in bed here now after an evening of playing his favourite board games. I’m exhausted now and flopped on the sofa with a cuppa
Have a lovely holiday nannytopsy 🇫🇷
Gorgeous card Yia
Hope you feel better soon llfl
