I truly feel younger after my little outing.
I got a sense of freedom I haven’t had since before my hip replacement.
I have been out with others of course but not on my own.

Here we are again
Caring as can be
All good pals and
Jolly good company.
Buffet is ready and Champagne is nicely chilled.
THANK YOU for the comfort you have brought into my life. You are all extra special people.

Good afternoon lovely Kitcheners. It’s been a beautiful sunny day here, with enough breeze to keep it comfortable.
The mammogram wasn’t very comfortable*Brook*, but it’s done. Going to the blood test clinic tomorrow afternoon, then I’m free of appointments for a while as long as all results are good.
Well done Annsixty, for biting the bullet and getting out on your scooter, a bit of freedom does us good.
I have tested out my new pedometer but didn’t go very far, just a quick circuit around the marina, a bit of birdwatching and trainspotting. I achieved the grand total of 477 steps, so proud
.
Soop thank you. The GP wasn't 100% sure what the problem is but reckons it'll need keyhole surgery. Poor wee man. Annsixty good for you! The wanders will have done you good.
A pottering sort of day where I achieved loads. Dgs1 went back to nursery and was really excited to meet up with his friends again. The weather here has been lovely so a washing was hung out and I've weeded and put down weedkiller to get rid of some perennial stuff which won't take a telling. I feel better when I achieve things. I must have a housemaid's soul. Paella for dinner. Last night it was really tasty and I made enough for tonight and froze loads as well. I'm being plagued by fruit flies so I'm fighting a war against them. Cider vinegar is working but I'll have to get more tomorrow. Have a good evening Kitcheners
Jax That is one very pretty pussy cat.
I wish that I had time to respond to the many posts that I've missed. I hope that you will understand that I do care for each and every one of you.

annsixty Happy travels. You made a very wise decision. I am happy for you.
Belated greetings to you lovely lot. We've had a busy two days. I feel guilty for seeming to neglect you.
BladeAnnie Duncan was a truly handsome feline. I was sad to read your post. Our animals are family. They leave a huge void in our lives when they die. You gave him a good life. He in turn gave you much pleasure.
ixion Your post is lovely.
As was yours, Nauughtyneine. Please take good care of yourself.
GrandmaBatty I hope that your dear grandson doesn't have to wait too long for the treatment he needs. I am sending you a virtual hug. X
GrannMarie Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos.
Good afternoon all.
Well, I have had a lovely afternoon, I took my courage in both hands and got my scooter out and went to the park, the first outing since Friday and only the third time out and the first on my own.
I was so pleased I did, I went all the way round and then decided to go and watch the children on the play equipment.
No sooner had I stopped next to bench but a neighbour came by, she sat on the bench and we chattered for about half an hour.
Then I went on my travels and met another woman and we found out we have several mutual friends, again a lovely chat and as she is a dog Walker we shall probably meet up again although in a month she is having her second knee replaced.
I came back home feeling so much brighter, it certainly did me good.
I am having a cup of tea and then will think about a meal.
It will be preceded by a G&T, a long established tradition for Wednesday with my H.
Best wishes to all for a good evening.
Good afternoon kitchen friends. Thank you for all your kind words on the loss of my dear old Duncan. He was such a loyal and loved friend - he'd been there for me through so much (long before Mr BA arrivedon the scene!). He was ready to go though so we did the last kindness we could ❤️. I've had such a lot on of late so do apologise for going AWOL 😔. I will catch up with all your business and wish you a pleasant afternoon. TOYA 🌼
Hoping you had a good night neine and feeling a bit better today. It sounds like you’ll be involved in something very worthwhile and special with the Little Bird group, hoping it all goes well and provides some comfort and support to anyone who has sadly lost a child, whatever their age
Hoping your mammogram was ok for you today Blossoming, the last one I had was very painful! Good job it’s not that often
Sorry to hear that DGS2 may need surgery grandmabatty poor thing, hope it’s nothing too worrying. . My eldest DGS needed a small operation about a year or so ago, he was in and out the same day and quickly recovered, although he wouldn’t show me his scar so you can imagine where it was!
Well done with the car insurance Jax always a bonus when you get a good deal. How lovely to get compliments, I’ve had my messy mop sorted today, it looks good just now but wait until it’s slept on ..
Thank you for your lovely photos grannmarie sounds like you had a really wonderful day and I can imagine how beautiful the scenery was and with the sun shining on the water too - magical! We’ll be off over the water on Friday as we’re going on another little adventure to the Isles of Lewis and Harris … taking my walking boots and midgey spray 🤣
So sorry to hear about Duncan BA, such a gorgeous cat, sending ❤️
I’m sure you’ll have a cat shaped hole in your life forever BladeAnnie. Duncan was such a beautiful animal. I’m saddened to hear your news this evening. x
BladeAnnie so sorry to hear about Duncan. He was a very beautiful cat. You will miss him I’m sure.
Duncan was such a handsome boy and had a lovely life at your home. It is so sad when they die and the house feels so empty.
TOYA
Farewell Duncan, beautiful boy.
A life well lived loved.
Hi all, after sun/clouds all day we have rain spots.
Sorry to hear about Duncan BA a handsome chap.
That group sounds most welcome for those in need neine a very good creation.
Sounds utterly wonderful Grannmarie smashing pictures, thank you.
I’ve reinsured one car today, cheaper than last year surprisingly and we’ve both booked our flu jab/covid boosters for October.
I must have an aura this week, a lady on Saturday thought I’m in my 50’s and one last night admired my hair, which is a messy mop, I’ll accept both compliments gracefully.
Off to collect the holidaying family from Bournemouth airport tomorrow, our grandson has lived in the pool. Leftovers for dinner tonight, easy.
Thinking of those whose days are sadder and fraught with uncertainty.
Thank you for those beautiful photos Grannmarie it sounds like a wonderful day.
Sorry to hear DGS2 has health issues Grandmabatty, sounds like another active day for you. Hope you have a restful evening.
MrB is making pasta with a Bolognaise sauce, I am nodding so must try not to fall asleep over my dinner! I didn’t sleep well last night, no tummy troubles or anything, probably just anticipating the mammogram! It’s a beautiful evening here.
Good evening Kitcheners. Grannmarie such lovely photos. I have never been 'doon the watter' but did go to Ireland by boat from Glasgow when I was 4 with my gran. BladeAnnie o am very sorry to hear that Duncan has gone. A much loved pet indeed.
The boys have been deposited at home. I am knackered. It's been a busy day. Dgs2 has a wee problem that is possibly going to need surgery, poor wee man. He's waiting for a paediatric appointment. We were at the local park today and I bumped into a lovely lady who I met while I was sitting with my friend who died. It was really nice to see her again. In the afternoon we went to a railway station to see trains but didn't stay long. Then we walked to the swings at the end of my road then played in the garden. Tonight I'm doing nothing! Homemade paella later for dinner with a glass of wine. Have a good evening Kitcheners
Aww, BladeAnnie, I'm so sorry to hear about Duncan. The fact that he lived for twenty two happy years is testament to your love and care. What a gorgeous boy he was, beautiful colour.
Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people, I hope Tuesday is treating us all kindly.
DH and I had a wonderful day out yesterday on the Waverley paddle steamer. We joined the sail at Largs at lunchtime, (it had started from Glasgow at 10am), and we cruised leisurely around the Isle of Arran, enjoying the weather, the scenery and the interesting commentary, returning to Largs 8ish, in time for fish and chips and a beautiful sunset before driving home.
The boat was very busy, the wee cruise was completely sold out. I had forgotten how it feels to be in a crowd, 'close proximity' was a pre pandemic memory until we were surrounded by literally hundreds of people on the boat. The friendly crewmen helped us on and off with DH'S mobility scooter and we managed to find good seats near the front so we had great views. I thought of Soop and Baggs as we sailed between Arran and Argyll/ Kintyre, stunning scenery. The sky was so clear that we could see the hills of Antrim in the distance.
The photos show Waverley arriving at Largs with the Glasgow passengers already on board, some of the beautiful views, and the sunset at Largs.
A quieter day at home, catching up with housework and washing! Thinking of you all, take care.
Sorry you have had to say goodbye to Duncan BladeAnnie
He was a handsome boy
Aw BladeAnnie so sorry to hear that sad news. Duncan was a very beautiful cat.
I have been for a mammogram this afternoon, went to the blood test clinic afterwards but they’d had to close their doors as they were so busy. Will go to one nearer home another day. MrB took me for a drive through some of our old haunts afterwards, very pleasant in the sunshine.
Duncan was a very handsome and well loved companion BladeAnnie I always enjoyed seeing photos of him being a cat owner myself.
What a very long life he had.
Apart from the reason you have visited which is very sad it it nice to have you visiting us once more.
Is there room in the kitchen for me to pop in with a bit of sad news 😢. Two weeks ago we had to say goodbye to dear old Duncan at the grand old age of 22. He was an amazing cat 🙀 who charmed everyone ❤️. I am so thankful that I have the beautiful picture of him, which soop captured perfectly. RIP Duncan - you'll never be forgotten 🌈
A very late good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people, just home 10 minutes ago from our big day out! Details and photos tomorrow, thanks for all your kind good wishes, NNGB 💕🙏
So many lovely posts to read.. Grandmarie I hope your cruise was just lovely.
Grandmabatty a perfect Granny and Grandsons day...I hope that took away a bit of the sadness of your Mum's condition.
Brook...I didn't go to the gym today either..I had a really bad night.. I'm not sure why I just couldn't switch off... So today I've felt off colour...achy...and oh so tired. Maybe just the last few weeks catching up. Mass on Saturday was a bit easier I did well up while singing Do not be afraid...I was just getting back on track then at the end my friend who married at the beginning of July had to give a short talk on a new group that is being set up in our parish and which I am going to be involved in. It's called Little Bird and is for parents who have lost a child. My lovely friend spoke very movingly about her loss and seeing her struggle set me off...the the last beside me ( a friend of another choir member) started to really sob. I put my arm around her and held her hand ( it just felt instinctive). She whispered between sobs that her daughter died last December. ( I heard later that she had taken her own life). After Mass another lady came up and told us about her daughter who died 20 years ago. I realised then that me pre conceived ideas that the group would be for younger people was seriously wrong and that grief can be deeply buried for years but never goes. I did have wine when I got home.
Soop...a lovely day out but the sound of things...a wee dram or 2 ...it would have been rude not to...
And a buggeration about eBay. Grrrr as DGS2 used to say.
Nannytopsy.. It's a lovely feeling having the garden sorted isn't it?
Well done blossoming...I hate setting stuff up...but I'm always chuffed when I do it.
Ann... Had this come on quite suddenly with your friend?. I'm wondering if it's maybe a UTI..I think that can cause confusion. Charliegirl would know.. Maybe she could throw some more light on what might be happening.
LLFL... What a beautiful wedding picture...a gorgeous dress and was that a fur bolero on the chair behind? It's February weather there so I'm guessing she may have needed it
I'm hoping for a better night. The GP has proscribed diazepam instead of propanol for the panic attacks and the pharmacist has said to take a dose to see how they work so I'll know how I'll feel when I need to take one for an attack so I may take one tonight. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. If I don't post for a couple of days you'll know they worked well. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
