Thanks for making me giggle Soop. I can't get the vision of a sneeze blowing your knickers off! 🤣

annsixty Sat 12-Aug-23 21:43:50

Nannytopsy how on earth can anyone cope with 16 dogs?
Puppies are extra cute, but so many!
My GD’s half sister is here tonight.
They have had a meal and are now watching Netflix.
A very difficult relationship but they are at least trying.
I hope it goes ok, I have come to bed to leave them to it.

Nannytopsy Sat 12-Aug-23 21:10:12

Two weeks? Kitty you have earned my respec’! Tomorrow we have to put DDiL’s 5 dogs and 11 puppies to bed at 10.30. Let them out, feed in stages, clear out puppy pads, put them to bed. Really?!
Flower Festival going well, hopefully tomorrow will be as busy.
Sleep well everyone 😴 TOYA

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Aug-23 20:41:11

I’d be naughty too ann it’s just too tempting!

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Aug-23 20:19:18

Good evening Kitcheners. Yiayia not long now til you move! Can family help you pack if it's setting off your arthritis? Brook I've been to Fort George a long time ago when I was visiting friends in Ardersier. Jaxjacky what a beautiful cat. Kittylester if I had both boys for two weeks I would also be on my knees! Two days at a time is enough. Annsixty I have a similar friend too. Soop enjoy your second birthday tomorrow 😂.
Dgs1 didn't want to go to the football with his dad and grandad so I wasn't required for dgs2. My sil was very disappointed as he's keen for dgs1 to get involved with football but I think he's a bit too wee yet to want to go to big crowds. Mum was chatty but it was clear she was a tad confused. I just went with the flow. I have made a huge pot of ratatouille, cauliflower cheese and macaroni cheese. Most of it will go in the freezer but I have enough spare for dinner tomorrow night. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

annsixty Sat 12-Aug-23 19:50:33

It is now nearly 8pm and my friend has not been in touch.
She really doesn't like not to be in charge of the situation.
I think I should have rung her to ask her about her scooter.
But as she takes several hours to reply to messages I have decided to act in kind.
I am not usually so naughty but I feel I have had enough for now.
Have the best evening you can everyone.

brook2704 Sat 12-Aug-23 18:49:41

Great to hear you’re doing so well on your scooter ann well done!
My hayfever is quite strangebaggs some days it’s there and some days it isn’t but the pollen forecast is the same each day so I don’t know where I’m up to. When I get it it’s really bad but I don’t know what triggers it 🤷‍♀️ it’s a real mystery to me
We’ve had a lovely day today, we went to an Historic Scotland event at Fort George, lots to see and do and we spent the day there. It’s on all weekend so we might go back tomorrow too
Is that your grandson in the car Yia? He looks really happy!
Beautiful tree soop, enjoy your second birthday celebrations tomorrow 🎉🥂💐🎂

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Aug-23 18:44:16

Good news Yia all happening quite speedily now, picture as requested, there are two other cats, but this is the show off, too clever by half!
Well done ann you’ll be whizzing about soon, your neighbour sounds tiresome.
Hope the wedding is going well llfl.
My paper today was missing the supplements, some issue that I don’t understand, but very irritating, briefly.
We’ve had drizzly showers, this day last year it was 34 and sunny, I was probably not happy then either🙂
Todays haul of tomatoes, once they start that’s it, a lot will be given away.

kittylester Sat 12-Aug-23 18:14:50

Just catching up.

Neine, I must have missed your history of your family division but I hope you can look back on going to your sister's funeral with peace in your heart after time had passed.

Lovely photos, soop. Enjoy your further celebrations.

Ann, did your scooter come with L plates. I think most of us will have a friend like yours.

Topsy love your flowers. You seem super busy. As do you Batty. We have 2 granddaughters here for 2 weeks. I'm on my knees.

Yiayia, moving fills me with horror. Emptying the kitchen is a step too far for me at the moment.

TOYA.

Yiayia4 Sat 12-Aug-23 17:04:03

Hello Kitcheners.
Well done annesixty, you will soon have a new lease of life.👍

Pleased your O.K Niene.

Beautiful flowers Nannytopsy.

Love Bengal cats Jacs, picture please.

Still clearing and packing. It looks like we will be exchanging next week and moving by the end of the month.😀P. Arthritis bad aching everywhere so resting this weekend.
Our eldest DGS used his Christmas present from us today a driving experience at Brooklands. He loved every minute and a good start for his driving lessons in September.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.

soop Sat 12-Aug-23 16:20:31

Once again, we have a sunny, warm day. It rained overnight and the bark on the Eucalyptus tree was a riot of colour. Mr Soop photographed it.

We are out and about tomorrow. A second late birthday celebration together with friends who were away on Tuesday. I shall try to pop into our kitchen. It all depends on how late we stay out. grin

I hope that you all have a pleasant and peaceful weekend. smile moon

soop Sat 12-Aug-23 16:13:21

A late good afternoon to you lovely lot. I've been ridiculously busy...all my own fault. I get these weird notions that somethings needs a good turn-out. One I get started, the day is swallowed up and I'm running on empty. It must be my age. wink

Baggs I only have to bend over to pick up something from the floor and my nose runs and drips in a most unladylike fashion. I sneeze throughout the day. The sneezes almost blow my knickers off, and I need to hold my hernia tightly. hmm

annsixty You will soon master the management of your new wheels. I hope that we can see a photo of you "in charge" with a huge grin on your face.

NannyTopsy Stunning!

GrandmaBatty I envy your resilience and energy. Ditto Blossoming

Llfl Yes, we would love a photo of you in the outfit you are wearing at today's wedding.

dustyangel Sat 12-Aug-23 15:29:07

I have a ‘friend’ like that. She’s actually my nearest English speaking neighbour now and I think that she is genuinely good hearted but I commented once to my very kind sister in law whose neighbour she had been in England, how helpful she was to everyone and dear sis in law said quite tartly that no, she was very good at organising other people to do the work.
Of course I immediately noticed how true that was.

Blossoming Sat 12-Aug-23 14:57:19

Cross posts Neine, good to see you’re doing OK x

Blossoming Sat 12-Aug-23 14:55:26

I’m glad you are gaining confidence AnnSixty, slow and steady is the way to go. That’s what my physio used to tell me when I was learning to walk again. I used to have a ‘copycat’ friend. She dropped me like a hot brick after I became disabled, I concluded she was a ‘user’ and I was no longer useful!

Naughtyneine Sat 12-Aug-23 14:49:47

I think I'm getting back on track a bit. I've been working the last couple of days...so slap( make up) on and smile pinned to my face. I'm doing my meet and greet at the VIP event at DOHs previous branch...word has got out that I inadvertantly help to close sales so next time I think I may be fought over by this branch and DOHs one. I have had a couple of wobbles... Yesterday saying my prayers on the way in...I prayed for the twin GS who were 17 yesterday and GS7 ( who smiled at me) who was 11 on Thursday. I remember so clearly the days they were born....I was at the hospital all day. I spoke very firmly to myself and didn't arrive at work looking like a panda.

Nannytopsy... They are beautiful and in colour order too...I was muttering Richard of York gains barriers in vain while looking at your picture.
Well done to you too Blossoming.
Ann... My friend has a mobility scooter and when we saw them last she said that it was difficult to control as she said the 'knob thing was very small so we looked up and found you can get an extension kit...I am tempted to giggle at this point as it could sound quite rude but I'll behave myself. Any way it's available from Amazon so it might be worth looking into if it gives you more control.

LLFL...I hope you are having a fabulous time. Can we have a picture of you at the wedding today?
Soop...I hope the sneezes have settled down now.

Have a good rest of the day everyone. Thinking of you all with much gratitude for your friendship.

Baggs Sat 12-Aug-23 14:38:19

Added that book to my ever longer list, batty. Thanks for the tip.

soop, I've also been very sneezy and nose-runny of late. As there isn't much hay near us, I'm putting it down to Meadowsweet, Ragwort, Wild Angelica, and Himalayan Balsam which are all flowering their heads off round about. I don't get headaches with my 'hay' fever any more though so that's a relief. They were killers.

annsixty Sat 12-Aug-23 10:37:16

Good morning all from a warming but overcast Stockport.
I’m pleased to say I had a much better outing on my scooter yesterday.
More confident and enjoyable.
I still need practice though, certainly at stopping!!
My friend texted me to say she had purchased one yesterday but she was in too much a hurry to get ready to go out she couldn’t spare the time to tell me about it.
I am actually quietly seething, until I told her I was getting one she had never expressed a desire to get one.
It will cost a lot more than mine and she will be quick to tell me just how much.
This pattern of copying goes back a long, long way and quite frankly is wearing.
However she is totally entitled, and you can take that in both senses, to buy whatever she likes.
I hope to get out today before the promised rain but have to wait in for a Sainsbury’s delivery.
Have the best day you can everyone.

brook2704 Fri 11-Aug-23 22:37:43

Looks lovely nannytopsy well done!
And you too Blossoming you’re doing great, hope the new pedometer is useful
Can’t have too many tomatoes Jax they’re so versatile ! 🍅🍅🍅

Blossoming Fri 11-Aug-23 19:40:37

Bengals are like Burmese in that their claws don’t fully retract Jaxjacky. I still miss the sound of my cats click-clicking across the wooden floors, coming to see what I was up to!

It’s good to know I’ve done something right, healthwise. I just got a new pedometer as my very old one has given up the ghost. I try to do as much as I can, I’m not good at pacing myself but nobody’s perfect grin

Have a lovely evening all x

Jaxjacky Fri 11-Aug-23 19:28:05

Wow Nannytopsy you should be very chuffed indeed, it’s beautiful.
Well done Blossoming fit as a flea 🙂
It’ll take time ann, like driving anything, little by little.
Small children and haircuts, I remember it well Grandmabatty not a pleasure for anyone.
We met my son and his partner in our local for a drink, then set off to feed my daughters cats, the Bengal is like a dog and has very sharp claws as he jumps on you.
Tomatoes coming now, if they all ripen I’ll be setting up a stall out the front!
First game of the premiership tonight (I can hear you all yawning), sorry..
Have a gentle evening.

Nannytopsy Fri 11-Aug-23 18:59:11

You’re right soop - very busy!
This is my ‘Over the Rainbow’ arrangement. I admit to being pleased with the way it’s turned out.
Tired people have ordered a curry - due shortly!

brook2704 Fri 11-Aug-23 18:13:13

Hoping you’ve had another try on your scooter ann and it’s not as bad as you feared, I guess it will take time to get used to it
Sounds like a busy day grandmabatty, pleased you got a wee rest this afternoon and enjoyed your book
Hoping Mr C is behaving corner and not overdoing things, I’m sure you’ll keep him on the right track
Another gorgeous day here, I’ve been in the garden and to the gym for the Aqua Zumba class. It was good to catch up with all my gym buddies in the jacuzzi after the class. Nice and easy M&S quiche and salad to eat later plus a glass of wine as it’s Friday.
Have a great night out grannmarie and enjoy!

Grandmabatty Fri 11-Aug-23 17:56:10

Good evening Kitcheners. My quiet day started off noisily. Dd wanted to know if I would like to go with her and the boys into town for a coffee. I agreed to discover dgs1 was actually going for a back to nursery haircut. When we reached the barber's, my heart fell into my boots at the length of the queue. Neither boy covered themselves in glory. I ended up taking dgs2 for a wander and hit the bookshop. Naturally I bought a book for each boy and one for me. After a stressful haircut- I have never seen DD so cross- we went for a coffee which also was stressful as dgs1 was not using his listening ears today at all 😂.
This afternoon I took to my bed and began to read my new book. Suffice it to say, I couldn't put it down. Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver is so clever, I marveled at her ingenuity. I've put it down in order to make dinner. I hope you get used to your new mode of transport Annsixty. Have a good evening Kitcheners

soop Fri 11-Aug-23 12:18:20

You lovely lot have been bithee. wink Nothing new there. I have to return later to read your news, having just this minute returned from a stroll with my stroller and my dear husband. It is very warm. Cloudless sky. My nose is running and I shall sneeze the day away. Hay fever, methinks.
