Grannmarie goodness me! The A9 is an unforgiving road at the best of times. I'm glad things ended well.

brook2704 Sun 24-Sept-23 21:56:04

Oh my goodness grannmarie so pleased you were both looked after so well by the AA, pleased it’s all sorted now and I hope the weather improves a bit for your hols
We’ve had another lovely day here, a walk in the mountains and then a gorgeous lunch at mountain restaurant. We’re leaving tomorrow morning after a really enjoyable weekend away
Lovely that your DGD enjoys spending a quieter time with you nannytopsy and I hope DGS feels a bit brighter soon despite his haircut.
Good to hear your DGD is enjoying her holiday ann and your meal yesterday was ok. I’m sure it was really appreciated
Hope your mum was ok this evening grandmabatty and you’re getting a rest this evening

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. Greetings from cloudy, rainy Aviemore. We've just returned to our cosy apartment, timeshare complex just off the main street, after a lovely Indian meal, DH'S cuisine of choice. Just in time for me to see the final episode of The Woman in the Wall. DH can have the remote after that.

Many happy returns, SueD, I hope you are enjoying your special day. My sisters bought me a new Kindle for my birthday, it has Alexa so it's especially brilliant when we are away from home.

Hope YiaYia and family are having a wonderful holiday in Greece, and hope Brook is having a lovely visit with her DS in Basel.
Safe travels to all who are away from home just now.

Well we had a bit of a drama on our journey here yesterday, a burst tyre on the A9 at a tricky spot in the road, quite scary. I called the AA who quickly sent a breakdown truck from nearby Pitlochry. The man was great, very quickly got my car onto the low loader, DH and I had to climb up into the cabin of the truck, ( not easy with my wonky knee and his mobility issues) and we were safely deposited in the next lay-by to await the tyre technician. He arrived soon after and quickly got us sorted. I'll never complain about renewing my AA breakdown cover again!

Wishing everyone a Sunday evening, thinking of you all, especially Baggs and The Urms, NNGB. 💕🙏

Jaxjacky did the cat like having fuel put in her?🤓
Sorry I couldn’t resist
I have come to bed early to read
I was very late last night after my visitor
It went “okay”
I have decided she is quite hard work, but then perhaps so am I.
I am missing my GD but she is having a wonderful holiday which I am delighted about.
Have the best night you can everyone

Nannytopsy Sun 24-Sept-23 20:26:57

Happy birthday SueD! 🎉🥳
Lovely photos soop & Scapa. That looked a good afternoon tea!
We had DGD last night which was lovely. With 5 under 21s ( can’t call them all children!) and 5 dogs, their house is bedlam. She enjoyed 24 hours of 2:1 and peace and quiet. She commented on the fact the she likes to get away. That’s a bit sad at 7!
Her brother (10) seems very down. Our DS works in London and has been away for over a week and DGS misses him terribly. Add to that yet another embarrassingly awful haircut and he’s very down. I don’t know how DiL gets it wrong every time! She thinks it’s funny and he clearly doesn’t.
Sorry for going on. Back to the rugby!
Have a good evening everyone!

Jaxjacky Sun 24-Sept-23 18:45:20

Not so cold today, but light drizzle early on, cloudy though so tomorrow, sun and wind, will be washing day.
A very breezy walk this afternoon, carefully sprayed weedkiller up the driveway, put fuel in my cat and had a long chat with a friend.
A very tight rugby match last night made good viewing, pleased with an Irish win.
Well done to your son and his wife soop.
Enjoy your evening all.

Love the photo of your son and dil, Soop! Nice and sunny on Ben Nevis. 😎
Rest up, GMBatty!

It’s my birthday today though I began it with a migraine. 🙄 I’m feeling better now and have opened presents and cards. I had some vouchers from the Big River people as I’m planning to replace my Kindle when they next have a Black Friday sale.

We’re off to DD’s for the rest of the day so no cooking for me!

Enjoy your day, everyone. Xxx

The boys are away home. Grandma has tidied up and is now watching strictly. Oh boy, that was a tiring shift. Poor wee dgs2 had a massive meltdown when we put his socks and shoes on and then dd tried to put him in his car seat. He was so distressed. However tomorrow is another (childcare) day. Soop such lovely photos. Yiayia I hope you are having a good time in Corfu. It's my favourite Greek island. Mince round and mashed potatoes later for dinner after I visit mum. Enjoy your afternoon kitcheners.
