Good afternoon to you lovely lot.

Birthday greetings to dear Charleygirl flowers wine cupcake

We are both missing our visitors. We had a very special reunion. Non-stop blethering. Visited the locations we had planned to share. Too much good food. The rain, at times, didn't prevent us from enjoying ourselves. My son took all the photos. I shall share a few with you. They are now in the proper Highlands. May even be climbing Ben Nevis (the tourist route) as I type.

What pleased us in particular was that they appreciated meeting our Scottish friends. It was all that we hoped for. grin

I hope to ease myself back into our kitchen over the weekend. Goodness only knows how I shall ever catch up with all your happenings.

It's good to be back. smile moon

Birthday greetings, Charleygirl, enjoy your special day. flowers cupcake wine

Busy times for you annsixty, I'm sure your friend wouldn't want you to feel nervous about her visit, your company & kind hospitality will be much appreciated.

Have a good visit with your DS brook, safe travels.

Warm wishes to all in soop's kitchen.

I was full of good resolutions to wish Charleygirl a Happy Birthday bright and early and then I completely forgot blush

Charleygirl I hope you are having a great day and enjoying yourself 🥳 🎂🥂. I promise you the forgetfulness is not an automatic thing that comes with the birthday wink, 1943 was a good year, I think there are a few of us of that vintage in the kitchen.

* Grannmarie* thank you for the wave, I expect you are right. I feel much brighter today.

I hope soop is enjoying her visitors too.

Good luck tomorrow Ann, I think you will be fine.

Names have come up now, Grannmarie and Yia I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone else.

Good afternoon from a very wet and cool Stockport.
My lucky GD is on her way to Rhodes where temperatures are in the 30’s.

I have had a busier week than normal, I invited a friend and neighbour for coffee on Tuesday, she is not too well and was widowed fairly recently, her birthday is next month so we have arranged lunch out so that will be good.
On Wednesday I went to another friend’s very swish apartment, they downsized 18 months ago from a very very nice house, pocket money change out of £1million but they say they are very happy with their choice and have made good friends already.

Then yesterday a further friend asked if I fancied going to Sainsbury’s with her, having a coffee in the cafe there and doing some shopping so that is what I did.
When we got back the weather improved and I had an hour out on my scooter, just back in the house when it rained, very lucky there.

A quiet day today apart from the early excitement of my GD and her friend getting ready and leaving for the airport.
Tomorrow I have invited yet another friend for a meal, I haven’t entertained properly since way before my H died and I am surprisingly nervous about it.
Have the best day you can I hope Brook gets away ok and anyone else on their travels whose names escape my old brain.

Aww, Neine, so sorry, flashbacks can be so sore. I hope you are safe home with your lovely man. 💕🙏

Brook, thank you so much for all your pointers, very helpful! I just looked out my thermal hat today! Hope you have a restful night and a safe journey tomorrow. ✈️

Jaxjacky, thank you, we love a sail, always try to fit one in to our holiday.
So lucky you live near enough to your DD to help her with the school run, I hope she is OK now.

Nannytopsy, you are most welcome to visit Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, I'm sure you'll love it.

YiaYia, safe journey ✈️ tomorrow, have a wonderful, relaxing holiday after all your stress with your house move.

Beautiful autumn wreath, Grandmabatty, you are indeed blessed with a good pair of hands!

Hello 👋 Dustyangel, I'm sorry you're feeling sad, it's only natural when you've enjoyed having your DD with you, and now you know that time is coming to an end. Enjoy the rest of her visit, treasure the memories you are making, 'parting is such sweet sorrow '.

Wishing everyone a peaceful night. TOYA.

dustyangel Thu 21-Sept-23 22:15:38

I love that wreath Grandmabatty, and I’m not always keen on autumn wreaths, I don’t know why. Neine, I hope you are safely home with DH and you are feeling much better now. I’ve just come home from a meal with DH and my daughter and her husband, they’ve been here for a week and it’s their last but one night. An enjoyable time was had by all, so why do I feel so sad? A feeling of time passing inevitably and everything changing I suppose.

brook2704 Thu 21-Sept-23 21:57:44

That’s gorgeous grandmabatty well done, I love the colours
Safe travels tomorrow Yia and enjoy your holidays

Jaxjacky Thu 21-Sept-23 21:43:44

Safe travels Yia and relax.
I like that Grandmabatty looks very welcoming.

Grandmabatty Thu 21-Sept-23 21:20:57

I'm quite happy with the autumn wreath, all made by my own fair hands, except for the bow. It was a nice change and a good blether too

Yiayia4 Thu 21-Sept-23 21:20:21

Niene. Thinking of you sending hugs.🌹
Hope your feeling better Blossoming.
Such lovely news Nannytopsy, you must be so pleased.
Keep up the good work Corner.
Sorry your mum is so sad Grandmabatty so very hard for you.🌻
Safe journey’s Brook and Grandmarie have a lovely time.
Hectic time here unpacking and packing again for our holiday but now very happy to be going to our happy place tomorrow.
Sleep well Kitcheners will be in touch soon.

Nannytopsy Thu 21-Sept-23 20:31:58

Hello everyone.
A trip to the west coast of Scotland should be on our list I think. It’s nearly 60 years since I went, in the back seat of the family Austin Cambridge!
It was my duty at the village cafe this morning so an early start but I did fall asleep this afternoon.
Nothing on tomorrow so a lie in, a visit to a garden centre for bulbs and to the quilting shop for fabrics. If it stays dry, we must cut the grass too.
Sleep tight everyone 💤

Jaxjacky Thu 21-Sept-23 20:00:31

Hi all, just finished dinner, dishwasher is on.
Waves of sadness neine 💐 like grief.
My ex in-laws lived near Loch Ness grannmarie the boat trip is a must, enjoy all your adventures.
Love a Premier Inn brook dependable, safe journey tomorrow.
We had a couple of hefty showers today, after a 7:55 phone call from my daughter, always a sign ‘something is up’. She had a migraine and couldn’t see to drive, school run Grandma to the rescue🙂.
The rest of the day was bits and pieces of house stuff and looking about online for a few days away, the internet steals time!
Anyway, new Taskmaster tonight should be good. Enjoy your evening all.

brook2704 Thu 21-Sept-23 19:37:11

Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling sad today neine sending 💐. Hopefully you’re safely back home with your OH now
Goodness grandmabatty you’ve been busy today. It’s not crazy and I know what you mean about going out at night, I don’t like driving in the dark and I prefer to be cosy at home! I hope you enjoy the autumn wreath making, it sounds good
Your holiday sounds lovely grannmarie I hope the weather behaves itself. Loch Morlich is lovely whatever the weather and there’s a nice cafe at the Glenmore visitor centre and at the Rothiemurcus centre where there’s a nice shop and cafe too. Just further up the road in the mountains is the Cairngorm mountain railway if the weather is clear there’s gorgeous views. But even just the drive up there is worth it. Nearby Loch an Eilein is worth a look too. There’s lots to see and do, even the Highland Wildlife park is interesting too depending on what you like. Most things are outdoors though so take your warm hat and gloves! It’ll be much warmer in Nice im sure!
We’ve just arrived at a Premier Inn in Edinburgh for our overnight stay b4 our flight tomorrow. I’ll definitely bring back Swiss chocolates for all in the kitchen
Hoping the soops are having a lovely time with family
Have a lovely evening all x
