Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but with a grey sky and signs of overnight rain here in brackley this morning.
Today a quiet day for me , I have a telephone appointment with my doctor purely as catch upon my health.
I am expecting a Wiltshire Farms delivery as well today , before I decide to do other things .
I think I have conquered the Diarrhorea with the Laperamide capsules , by taking one after meals with water throughout the day and having one before I sleep.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from grey Harrogate
That sounds horrific Marydoll such a mess! You seem to be nearly back on track Mick
Yesterday I made a mistake the carnival was while I was in church- don’t know what possessed them to have it on a Sunday! Last year it was on Saturday! Today we have Dgs for the day. He’s such a monkey! We’ve decided to take him to Harlow Carr Gardens. He likes looking a growing flowers! And there’s plenty of grass for him to run about on as well as a children’s playground- just hope the weather holds out!! (And I hold out!!).
Have the best day possible folks

Good. Morning from a dull damp Oxfordshire, dog is in the garden gazing up at the Walnut tree where she once saw a squirrel. Meanwhile a family of rabbits is chewing the grass behind her!
Emptied the loft space yesterday, all that is left is a crate of Lego that the girls then the GCs played with, so that’s staying, the crates of Christmas decs and 2 huge suitcases that have other suitcases inside of them, not needed anymore but if and when we move they will be handy. Everything else is in boxes for MzOops to sell. Not sure how we will get the boxes to her, but MrOops is in charge of logistics.
DGS is off to Europe this week with a mate, he was only 18
2 weeks ago, never gets out of bed until after lunch, can’t organise himself on time for anything, I dread to think what will happen, assuming he even gets to the station near to his home on time to leave. This is one of those times when it’s good to be a Grandparent and not his Mum.
It looks like it will be wet dog walks today.
Marydoll what a pain to have to sort that bill out. On Friday I received a huge amount into our account from our Oil company, odd that the amount matches the cost of the oil delivery that arrived last Monday, I’ll wait until they shout to get it back.
LLFL MzOops always goes to White Horse Hill on her birthday where in the past we’ve always flown kites, now she goes up with her children, sadly this year it was too wet.

Have a good day everyone, thoughts are with those who are poorly.

Good morning from a grey W Kent where we are recovering from yesterday’s family party. My goodness three young adult males are noisy but lots of fun. They spent a good deal of the day playing cards and eating. I couldn’t help thinking how amused my mum would be as my dad had a great big booming voice, what a thing to inherit.
Marydoll I hope you are able to sort out the heating bill asap.
Welcome Nanajill.
Very best wishes to all

Welcome Nanajill about 4 posts appeared whilst I was typing mine.

Good morning from a grey damp Suffolk.

We are meeting friends for fish and chips for lunch at the beach cafe which Gingsterknows well….don’t think there will be many wasps around this morning as too chilly. There are lovely walks around there and another cafe near by that does delicious cakes so a calorific day I think.

Hope those with worries find some comfort today.

Gala Mon 31-Jul-23 08:06:18

Good morning from a grey & drizzly Sefton. It is very wet underfoot.
Singing group this morning. That should cheer us up. It does have such a positive effect on people, we always leave chattering & laughing. Hair appointment this afternoon. That will be it for the day , oh just remembered there is ironing lurking in a cupboard.
Take care all.

Pittcity Mon 31-Jul-23 08:07:46

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. DH is taking DGS1 (12) fishing. DGS3 (7) and I have laundry and shopping to do. He has asked for Subway for lunch. It's somewhere I have always avoided, so a new experience!
Love to all 🦩 x

Grammaretto Mon 31-Jul-23 08:09:27

Poor Marydoll that must have been horrific. I mean almost setting fire to the church, not the gas bill.
I get huge bills but I thought that was normal. 😕😭
Perhaps Mr Doll could help me reduce mine?😉

ginny Mon 31-Jul-23 08:09:51

Good morning. Another cloudy day and probably more rain later.
A productive day yesterday. Sorted another cupboard, got one project for craft club all sorted and discovered a blanket that I am partway through crocheting so, will work on that.
Today DH is off to golf and then to do a few job for his Mum. I’m try to get another project sorted and hopefully manage some dead heading and pottering in the garden .
Thoughts with all struggling in any way and a good day wished for everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 31-Jul-23 08:12:32

Morning Mick and all from a grey, damp
S E Essex.

Off to the gym first thing, then it’s the dreaded Everest of ironing pile!!!
Hopefully then eldest GS will be awake and I can wish him Happy 15th birthday. I have no idea where those years have gone (he now tucks me under his arm for a cuddle)

Oh dear MaryDoll what a mess to clear up, I would have been wheezing like a cart horse.

Welcome nanajill 👋

Thinking of our poorly friends (((hugs)))
Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Jaxjacky Mon 31-Jul-23 08:14:18

Morning from a damp S Hants, volunteer phones today and quiz tonight.
Welcome Nanajill.
Your cruise sounds really interesting BlueSapphire pictures are great.
Busy week brook have a lovely time with your family.
Thinking of those not here, hoping they have a gentle day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 31-Jul-23 08:22:37

Eek! I’ve just remembered that I’m having a pneumonia jab this afternoon! I knew there was something else.

GrannySomerset Mon 31-Jul-23 08:39:22

Not currently raining but after yesterday that’s a relief - I half expected Noah to come sailing up the road. Despite the weather the Spanish afternoon was great fun and a triumph of organisation and generosity.

Absolutely nothing in the diary this week so will have to invent something more exciting than cupboard clearing.

harrigran Mon 31-Jul-23 08:42:09

Good morning from a sunny NE after heavy overnight rain.
SIL assembled my new bar stools and they are perfect, back to perching on comfy kitchen seats.
We had a look to see if my suitcase would fit in his car and how much more we could get in if we dropped one of the back seats down. DH had a big 7 seater Mercedes so loading the car was never an issue but now I have to think about what I pack.

DS sent a message last night, the family are at his in laws in Oxfordshire for a few days before going on to London.

Hope you have a restful day Marydoll yesterday sounded stressful.
Lovely photos Blue Sapphire, DS and family have been to Orkney several times and love the ancient sites.

Foxygloves Mon 31-Jul-23 08:42:55

Good morning from Foxyland where it is grey but fair (so far)
DGS2 (11) is staying with me for a few days and I was hoping he might enjoy painting the shed - and choosing the paint!
However the forecast for this afternoon is poor so I think it might be the cinema instead (he’ll like that!)
He’s a lovely boy but has never stayed with me without his big brother so I am keen for it to be relaxed but a little bit special too.
We watched a couple of episodes of “Outnumbered” last night - I love the family dynamics in it and I wondered if he identified with the middle child in that family too.
The TV was after he thrashed me at Scrabble by 100 points blush
Wishing you all a pleasant day, safe travels and “Gute Besserung” for those hopefully on the mend.

Georgesgran Mon 31-Jul-23 08:47:38

Good morning from Durham. Cool and fresh today. Trundling back up to help DD2 with her little one again this afternoon. He’s a joy, but I’ll be glad when his Daddy is back and things return to normal. I hope your bill isn’t with Scottish Power Marydoll. They owe me almost £300 from March!! I’ve never met such a useless bunch.
Hope your medical chat goes well Mick but maybe ask if you should be taking so much Imodium?
Welcome Jill.
Best wishes to all. X

Gingster Mon 31-Jul-23 08:47:52

Good morning all and it’s damp here in Suffolk. Still breezy too.

We’ll shop at the big Tesco today in readiness for our visitors tomorrow. I must buy SIL a birthday card and a plant as she’s 80 next week. Only looks about 60 but always got something wrong with her 🤣. Love her though!

We took down all our hollyhocks yesterday as they were looking sad and making such a mess. They are so pretty when first out. Dh mowed the lawns and we washed all the bedding. Brilliant day for drying as it was sooooo windy.

Liberty enjoy your delicious lunch and fingers crossed the wasps will be awol. Yes those cakes are really yummy!

Marydoll what a todo! Poor you.
Welcome Nanajill and congrats 👶🏼.

Enjoy the day in any way you can. 🌸

Jacs7 Mon 31-Jul-23 08:48:22

Good morning everyone from a cloudy north Kent. Dry at the moment but some more rain expected later.

Yesterday morning managed to get out in the garden so cut the grass and do a bit of tidying up. Everything has burst into life and I am pleased with my herbaceous borders. I usually let them do their own thing with occasional tweaks and dead headings.

Rain in the afternoon drove me inside where I looked up some things to do on our holiday in Oxfordshire later this summer. Some of the Oxford museums seem good to visit and there are a couple of city walks which look ok. Have been to the city before but a while ago.

Toda is our penultimate art morning before we stop for a summer break. Today we are framing our efforts ready for an end of term exhibition next Monday.

Hope you all have a good day.

Wyllow3 Mon 31-Jul-23 09:09:32

Morning from and overcast S Yorks with rain certain later.

Nothing on the calendar so it’s probably a gentle gym.

Marydoll That bill is outrageous it would really throw me! Mind you I’m still on a deal - till October - then expect a real price hike.

A welcome Nanajill

Phew a bit of a marathon there Grey

Loved that pic BlueSapphire

I love “Outnumbered”, too, Foxygloves.

Bests for poorlies and enjoy family days and other outings.

Blossoming Mon 31-Jul-23 09:10:25

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire.

I have been up most of the night with diarrhoea and vomiting. I have just crawled back to bed, MrB has fetched tea and I will try to get some sleep.

Have a good day 🌻

EkwaNimitee Mon 31-Jul-23 09:13:51

Good morning Mick and everyone from rainy Carlisle. The forecast is for rain every day this week!

Getting your guts under control will probably help your body heal more quickly Mick.

Yesterday I returned from a short group holiday in Scotland . We travelled on the Aberdonian steam train from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, coached up through Deeside and down to Dundee via Glen Shee, taking in a Highland cattle farm, a vintage railway, a gin distillery etc on the way. Dundee was a city I'd never thought I'd want to visit but found I really liked the place. The waterfront has been regenerated including with the V&A museum, there's some good cooking about and the locals are lovely. On my list for a return visit. And we were a great, friendly group of tourists too.

Down to reality today. I have to contact my dentist as a dodgy crown and tooth scheduled for removal have become untenable and won't wait weeks for attention. Plus I need to chase up other medical appointments. I'm getting like an old car that constantly needs to be nursed along by the garage!

Marydoll, I gather your smart meter experience is not unique, I'm concerned because I'm on a waiting list for one. I think that's one thing I won't be chasing up.

Hello and welcome Nanajill, and congratulations to you and your family too.

Have the best possible day everyone. A photo may or may not appear....

Susan56 Mon 31-Jul-23 09:26:24

A late good morning from Shropshire.

Four days away with the children meant we have only just woken up!A quiet day planned today🤞🏻

Hope you have a calmer day Marydoll and manage to sort the gas bill out.I sympathise with you having shoulder pain.I had a steroid injection in my shoulder last week which should bring relief for a while🤞🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Taichinan Mon 31-Jul-23 09:30:20

Good morning all. Mick you are sounding more robust by the day! Please let us know how you get on with the Wiltshire Farm Foods - they're such a good idea.
I had a better night's sleep last night thank goodness, although it took a while for me to drop off. When I woke at 4am what a beautiful morning it was! Everywhere calm and serene, reflections of blue cloudless sky on the Basin and a rosy glow in the east where sun was beginning to rise. The old saying "Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning" still holds good unfortunately for it's grey and damp now and threatening rain 😢
Goodness Marydoll, that's some bill and so obviously wrong! You'd think the company's techno wizards could get their computers to flag up that sort of thing before sending bills like that to customers! Thank goodness you and Mr MD have each other to offload on - I'd be in such a state if that happened to me. I hope it can be resolved easily.
Welcome to Nanajill, and congratulations on your first grandchild. So exciting! My own First will be 30 this week yet I remember the wonder of his birth as if it was yesterday. They're all special of course, but that first one .....!
Lovely photos Bluesapphire, and you seem to be having excellent weather too.
Enjoy your week having your Cambridge family to stay Brook - I'm sure a great time will be had by all, particularly the young cousins.
Now off I go to get this day on the go - a long To Do list but sadly lacking in incentive!
Have the best day everyone, particularly those of you entertaining young GCs. Thoughts for those feeling not so bright flowers. Now, let's see that ☀️!

Taichinan Mon 31-Jul-23 09:35:48

flowersFeel better soon Blossoming

Taichinan Mon 31-Jul-23 09:42:17

Glad you enjoyed your Scottish sojourn Ekwanimity. And you're so right about Dundee - it has blossomed in recent years, and the V&A is definitely a jewel in its crown, and is so different from the old city of Jute, Jam and Journalism.
