Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but with a grey sky and signs of overnight rain here in brackley this morning.
Today a quiet day for me , I have a telephone appointment with my doctor purely as catch upon my health.
I am expecting a Wiltshire Farms delivery as well today , before I decide to do other things .
I think I have conquered the Diarrhorea with the Laperamide capsules , by taking one after meals with water throughout the day and having one before I sleep.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a grey W Kent where we are recovering from yesterday’s family party. My goodness three young adult males are noisy but lots of fun. They spent a good deal of the day playing cards and eating. I couldn’t help thinking how amused my mum would be as my dad had a great big booming voice, what a thing to inherit.
Marydoll I hope you are able to sort out the heating bill asap.
Welcome Nanajill.
Very best wishes to all

Good. Morning from a dull damp Oxfordshire, dog is in the garden gazing up at the Walnut tree where she once saw a squirrel. Meanwhile a family of rabbits is chewing the grass behind her!
Emptied the loft space yesterday, all that is left is a crate of Lego that the girls then the GCs played with, so that’s staying, the crates of Christmas decs and 2 huge suitcases that have other suitcases inside of them, not needed anymore but if and when we move they will be handy. Everything else is in boxes for MzOops to sell. Not sure how we will get the boxes to her, but MrOops is in charge of logistics.
DGS is off to Europe this week with a mate, he was only 18
2 weeks ago, never gets out of bed until after lunch, can’t organise himself on time for anything, I dread to think what will happen, assuming he even gets to the station near to his home on time to leave. This is one of those times when it’s good to be a Grandparent and not his Mum.
It looks like it will be wet dog walks today.
Marydoll what a pain to have to sort that bill out. On Friday I received a huge amount into our account from our Oil company, odd that the amount matches the cost of the oil delivery that arrived last Monday, I’ll wait until they shout to get it back.
LLFL MzOops always goes to White Horse Hill on her birthday where in the past we’ve always flown kites, now she goes up with her children, sadly this year it was too wet.

Have a good day everyone, thoughts are with those who are poorly.

Good morning all from grey Harrogate
That sounds horrific Marydoll such a mess! You seem to be nearly back on track Mick
Yesterday I made a mistake the carnival was while I was in church- don’t know what possessed them to have it on a Sunday! Last year it was on Saturday! Today we have Dgs for the day. He’s such a monkey! We’ve decided to take him to Harlow Carr Gardens. He likes looking a growing flowers! And there’s plenty of grass for him to run about on as well as a children’s playground- just hope the weather holds out!! (And I hold out!!).
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny, but we might have some rain later.
Pleased to hear you’re feeling a bit better mick
A busy day ahead, a couple of classes at the gym first thing followed by a leaving lunch for one of the instructors. Everyone is bringing in a plate of something to share for lunch, it should be good fun but it’s a shame to see the instructor leaving as she’s very good. Early evening I’m off to the airport to pick up DD1 and DGSs who are coming to stay for the week. They’re the ones who live in Cambridge so they’re flying up from Luton
The pictures are gorgeous BlueSapphire, enjoy the rest of your cruise
Welcome nanajill and congratulations on your new baby DGD
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a not so sunny Wigan. I'm new here and a brand new nana to a beautiful Ivy Mai to my daughter Katie. Have a wonderful day. Sending positive thoughts. Jill

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. It was lovely to see my elder son and his family over the weekend. My granddaughter loved flying a kite on White Horse Hill yesterday. It was very windy! Waitrose trip today. I also have to post son’s partner’s coat back to her which she left behind. It contains her purse with all her cards in it! I will find the safest and quickest Royal Mail route to send it back. OH is playing croquet with the U3A this afternoon, weather permitting. Have a good day everyone.

Mizuna

I can't go anywhere near incense Marydoll, it affects my asthma so badly I end up in A&E. It's the only thing that has that effect.

I can't either Mizuna, I was trying to open a window to clear the air, when I must have knocked it. The server using it had left it burning and went home, without cleaning and making sure it was safe. I was fuming! There were a few naughty words said. blush

Good morning everyone from somewhere in the North Atlantic; we are approaching the Faroe Islands. The weather is grey and overcast, but thank goodness a calm sea.
A lovely day yesterday in the Orkneys, warm sunshine all day. Enjoyed the excursion to Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar, I can now use my memories and not my imagination!
A sea day today, so a later breakfast; then to a presentation on the scenery and wildlife of Iceland. After lunch attempt a mile around the deck(!), A quartet recital next, then perhaps just sit and read.
Have a good Monday everyone.
Photos of yesterday's excursion.

Grandmabatty Mon 31-Jul-23 07:03:09

Marydoll that's horrific! I hope you can get it sorted.

Good morning from a drizzly hill in south Gloucestershire, at least it’s warm!
Yesterday I emptied and sorted out the fridge and freezer - the latter long overdue I’m afraid - I and determined not to buy any meat of fish until it’s run down. I have got lazy with cooking (I don’t enjoy it), buying easy to cook meals instead of using what I have 🙄
I also spent some time messing around with my painting materials which was far more enjoyable!A quiet week ahead.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a dreary South Yorkshire. We are expecting a lot of rain again today. The christening yesterday was lovely despite the fact that it took us ages to find the church even with the sat nav. A very relaxed happy service followed by a very sumptuous buffet lunch for quite a crowd. Baby was calm and happy despite all the attention he was getting. I was so tired in the evening though that I was in bed by nine o’clock. Today I’m going to the cinema and then for lunch with DD and her menfolk today, to see Oppenheimer. I didn’t realise it was three hours long or I might have declined the invite!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a wet, fresh-looking Cornwall. Telephone appointment to sign me off from the cardiac physio this morning, then coffee with a very close friend I met when we were five and started school just up the road from where I live now. We were gigglers together, much to our teachers' annoyance. My fridge broke yesterday but is under guarantee, yippee, so a phone call later to sort that. My milk spent the night in a bowl of water on my patio.

Marydoll Mon 31-Jul-23 06:53:29

Good morning all from a wet again Glasgow, where its 12°C. I had a restless night due to my painful shoulder, its been going on for months.

DH is golfing and I don't really have plans. I may go to Mass, one of the sacristans is back from holiday, so I am free of duties.
I had a bit of a catastrophe yesterday. I was helping the young sactistan, when (I do not know how), to my horror I knocked over the stand with the still burning thurible ( picture included) and the boat (incense holder). The young man had just filled the holder with incense and it covered every corner of the sacristy floor, along with the charcoal, as it flew in all directions.
Not only did it take ages to clear up and wash thefloor, but the brass thurible was bent! 😡
I suggested to the PP that I should retire, I am seriously doubting my capabilites at the moment!

I knew something was bothering DH and yesterday, he came clean. After the smart meter fiasco, we now have a gas bill of £5000 for only six months gas for two people!!!
We spent the day collating old bills for the same period and formulating our complaint. We usually use 1 unit per day in summer According to the bill, we have used 23 units per day this summer. Something is not quite right!

So glad to hear Mr C is progressing and hoping for more positive news today.
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

Grammaretto Mon 31-Jul-23 06:46:47

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's due to rain
Your health is definitely improving Mick.
I am still under the weather so undecided about a U3A exhibition visit today.
I also have a couple arriving this evening so must cook for them.
My DM used to say get up, get dressed and then see how you feel.
Wishing everyone a happy day

karmalady Mon 31-Jul-23 06:45:17

Good morning from cloudy and drizzly s somerset

I made a dress yesterday, tried it on and did not like it on me, neither the style nor the pale blue colour nor the thick fabric on my skin. Oh well, it was a toile and I used stash fabric. That set me off and I decided to re-vamp my fabrics. At least ten days work ahead and many trips to offload at the charity shop. It will take at least this time to sift through over thirty years worth of collecting. I do like a lightbulb moment

More of the same today, taking my time as I am making a catalogue in a file, with swatches and using old notes. I do like a project, cosy with the radio on and the result will be good and a big positive

Have a good day

Juliee Mon 31-Jul-23 06:44:56

Good morning from a hot Siberia! I have been to the gym and then bought a hand baggage bag on wheels. I am going to Europe soon and the journey takes 48 hours. So a bag on wheels will lessen the burden. I am only taking hand luggage with me as I hope to return to Siberia within 2 months.
I am working this evening.

Glad you are feeling better, Mick.

Have a good day all!

hollysteers Mon 31-Jul-23 06:40:46

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chanbers northwest coast.
An early start for me as I’m off on a day trip to the Cotswolds, rather a long way for a coach day trip but hey ho, can snooze and snore on the bus.
Glad things are settling down Mick and thoughts to all with troubles 🌺
.

kittylester Mon 31-Jul-23 06:28:10

Good morning all from a grey, very wet North Leicestershire. The rain woke me last night and I didn't get back to sleep for ages. Feel like a piece of chewed string!

Regardless, I have to iron this morning and then I'm volunteering this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

monk08 Mon 31-Jul-23 06:26:22

Good morning all from the Black country where we had rain overnight and its not looking promising for the rest of the day.
DH has an hearing test first thing so an early start today.
I might catch up with some housework but my new book may prove to have a bigger draw.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

grandMattie Mon 31-Jul-23 06:18:18

Oh, goodness! Getting a touch of the “Senior Moments”. The 1st is tomorrow!

Grandmabatty Mon 31-Jul-23 06:17:45

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and drizzly. GrandMattie you're a day early for white rabbits! Ash technical rehearsals are so tedious, I agree. You just want to get going. Mick I'm glad you are keeping better.
Yesterday ended up quite busy. I finished off the boys' bedroom, cleared up the dining room, cleared out a drawer in the kitchen and deposited all the excess at the charity shop. I felt much better having done that.
Today is childcare day. Back to soft play this morning for the last time. I'll do other things next two weeks. This afternoon will sort itself out. Gammon salad for dinner. Have a good day all
