It’s Yorkshire Day, where is your favourite spot?

My home and my town. Happy ( belated) Yorkshire Day to all who share a love for God's own country.

Our DD lives in Lancashire which is lovely in its own right. We go for lunch and have got to know the surrounding villages quite well. For a change we often go to Haworth or Skipton for lunch and a wonder round. There are such lovely little craft shops proper butchers and bakers etc as well as the lovely landscape.

Living in Essex we love Yorkshire, DH has a step-brother in Harrogate and other family in Hebden Bridge and we both live York, moving out of Yorkshire I also live Northumberland and their amazing beaches

I absolutely love Whitley Bay, too many wonderful assets to list here but it was voted best place to live in the north east.
PS. I don't live there unfortunately.

Another vote for Pickering also Goathland and the idyllic village of Hutton le hole

I live on the edge of the N York Moors and love a trip to our coastline . Saltburn, Sandsend, Skinningrove, Marske are all lovely. We hire a house in magical Robin Hoods Bay every year for all the family.

Loved taking the NYMR train from Pickering to Gothland when the children were young but the sheep did try to join in the picnics.

Whitby is another favourite with the North Yorkshire Gallery's photography shop being a go-to destination.

Cauldron Falls, West Burton, Leyburn, in the Yorkshire Dales. It's heaven on earth. A hidden gem.
Full of special memories for me.

My favourite area too. My paternal grandfather came from West Burton.

Malham, the Cove, Gordale Scar, Wharfedale, Bolton Abbey, Harrogate, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Leeds-Liverpool Canal West of Skipton, North Yorks Moors, Castle Howard (lovely at Christmas).😎

I love the red roofs on the houses in North Yorkshire.

Lancashire Day is 27th November. Plenty of lovely places here also.😎👍

Ohhhhhh its everywhere in Yorkshire ( inland ) im near Haworth so any direction is absolutely perfect. The roĺling hills, endless dry stone walls, grazing cattle and sheep, fields, fields, fields, old farm houses, down to earth friendly folk..... just everything.

"I am from here and anywhere else is nowhere"
Well Harrogate is my home town and now I live 'nowhere'
but its nice there as well.

Our son went to Leeds University and now lives in Yorkshire. Just returned from staying with him and his wife and our granddaughter. We now know Yorkshire quite well and have visited many of the places mentioned. Just wish it wasn't 200 miles from London (home).

I have loved reading all your posts, thank you.
I have visited most of the places mentioned and I feel that apart from the odd trip to Ireland (my heritage) it wouldn’t bother me to never leave the County again.
We lived for some years near Clitheroe in a village that had once been in Yorkshire, I swear the people in our village were far more Yorkshire than the Lancastrians in the next village😉
