I usually get between £50 and £150 - but this month it is £350!!!!! - hooray!

Anyone else had any luck?

I originally bought some in 1970, but have never had a win.
It seems only fairly recent ones are winning.

Anyone else have any really old bond’s that have never paid out.?

I have still got the one from they were first issued. Have cashed in every other one.

Just a very small win this month. Who are all these people who win big? Never known one….

My brother once won £10k, but then again he has £30 in bonds so chance is higher ..... money goes to money always!

Didn’t think you could have a £30 holding hmm

Premium Bond prize rate increased to 4% from this month's draw (highest rate since 2007) and odds of a win also increased. No wonder there are so many happy winners on here today. What a contrast with all those people facing today's news of another interest rate rise and struggling to see how they can manage with mortgages etc. It sums up the dreadful divide in broken Britain. I got a nice premium bond win today (£50) but it was accompanied by crushing news that our house sale has collapsed as our buyers have withdrawn their offer because of interest rate fears. Back to square one, housing outlook bleak and DH and I running out of energy. Note to other gransnetters: don't wait until you are 80 to downsize.

£100 for us 👍

Susieq62 Thu 03-Aug-23 15:11:10

£300 last month but nothing this month. Not complaining though

My gran bought me bonds in the 1950's, a total of 4.... I won £25 in 1967 and that has been it! Time to buy a few more!

Shantygirly Thu 03-Aug-23 14:22:52

£125 for me, nice because I haven't had a blank month for over a yearsmile

NoraBone Thu 03-Aug-23 14:19:42

Nothing this month. sad

I've had £1,525 from Jan to July this year though, on max funds in PB, properly thrilled with that.

inishowen Thu 03-Aug-23 13:56:55

We got £300. A very good month.

Maria59 Thu 03-Aug-23 13:53:18

£25 this month every win is welcome

hazelnuts Thu 03-Aug-23 13:31:36

Nothing this month
My friend won £1,000 2 months ago
If you find old bonds best to cash them in and buy new ones more chance of winning

gillyjp Thu 03-Aug-23 13:29:43

Same here as well smile

Stillstanding Thu 03-Aug-23 13:19:02

Got £200 this month. I have never won £100 once before and now I get 2 £100 wins on the same month. My winnings are automatically reinvested but I also spend an equal amount on "me-treats".

ShepherdC Thu 03-Aug-23 12:57:43

Had 200 worth of bonds for 15 years and not won anything.

lexigran Thu 03-Aug-23 12:52:21

We got £175 between us, had £750 so far this year smile

icanhandthemback Thu 03-Aug-23 12:47:43

I got £175 this month as did my husband. I don't have as many as him so I was quite impressed. Although investing in other forms of savings might get a guaranteed return, so far, I have managed to get a decent return so I am not going to move my money yet.

dogsmother Thu 03-Aug-23 12:37:47

Nil again……not maxed but do have plenty. Ready to reinvest elsewhere, they are not being kind.

HomeAgain123 Thu 03-Aug-23 11:59:32

125 for me after quiet few months

kissngate Thu 03-Aug-23 11:58:34

I think you need much more than £10,000 invested to get a regular return however small.
You would be very lucky to get more than £25 a few times a year but I may be wrong, it is luck after all.

My oh won nothing on 10k for years. He withdrew it and reinvested 5k and has won one £25 since. To win sums of £150+ pm each month and a yearly return of £1k+ you need 40 -50k invested and even then need to be lucky. Already withdrawn some of mine to invest in a guaranteed interest bond paying 5%. The rest will be withdrawn to pay for new boiler in a couple of months.

BigBertha1 Thu 03-Aug-23 11:53:38

I've just started buying them again so I hope for something later in the year. I don't know how long the qualifying period is.

NannyJan53 Thu 03-Aug-23 11:28:41

Thank you JenniferEccles I suspected £10,000 would be a minimum to win anything at all

annsixty Thu 03-Aug-23 10:08:17

There was a member of GN who a few years ago told us that as well as her own maximum holding (£50,000) she had also invested the maximum in the name of 4 other members of her family.
I don’t recall her ever saying how much she won.
I don’t know if she still posts.
