Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country. Where it was surprisingly sunny yesterday with the odd shower.

Lovely day yesterday having lunch at my cousins house. She had done the whole works, chilli, baked potatoes, sour cream etc. Then a delicious cheesecake. I don't usually eat that much at lunch time, hence too full to eat last night.

Off to the caravan today where it is stored in Somerset. Then tomorrow morning off to Glastonbury for the Extravaganza in the Abbey grounds Saturday evening. Headlining Act is Texas, with support by The Lightning Seeds. It is always a good sing a long night, with fireworks at the end.

Then we are off to Lyme Regis Sunday for a week. Hoping weather brightens up a bit by then.

Wishing you all a lovely day

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is cool and damp. Apparently we might get a return of summer next week!

Meeting up with a friend this morning for coffee and a catch-up. She has Parkinsons so is a bit restricted as to where she can go so I walk round to her house for coffee. It’s a horrible disease and every so often I see a marked deterioration in her, but she remains very positive.

Hope you all have a good day.

Ash, lovely photo, amazing likenesses. Nannagarra I have fig envy. grin My tree didn't even flower this year.

Gingster Thu 03-Aug-23 07:21:45

Good morning all and it looks ‘ok’ out there. The sun is trying to break through and no rain is forecast here in Suffolk.

Yesterday was showery but we had a couple of hours in the afternoon to get into the garden. Brothers and SIL now gone home and it’s quiet here again with just us little chickens.
Dh misses his Sky sport tv while we’re here but he’s been watching the women’s World Cup to keep him ‘happy’ 🤔.

Ash those chaps do indeed resemble the original actors. 👍.
Mizuna that certainly was a bargain . Enjoy your bus ride ☺️.
Corner that is a long day for you, but nice to be able to visit whenever. Hope your Dh has had a better night.

Take care all 🌸

Good morning, on and off rain in s somerset today

A very positive and satisfying day yesterday, sewing room is all sorted now and is a lovely calming room. My views from there are wonky old red roofs to the side and all the cottage/allotment gardens surround my garden in a higgeldy fashion. No noise all day apart from tv 40 minutes at lunch time

A bit more exploration of my wardrobes later, mostly well made hand mades, I am looking for some more finds to be donated. Two new tops will go in the wardrobe today and four came out yesterday. Top number two will be finished today. I am very glad that my sewing mojo came back

I sense your raised spirits in your post cornergran, I am so very glad

Have a good day.

Good morning from Severnside. Overcast with thunder forecast for later.

Great casting there Ash.

Beechnutella and her fella have gone up to Scotland for some of the cycling Mick. Mountain biking is what he likes.

I’ve a few errands to run this morning and then I’ll do some crafting later.

Have a good day all ☔️🌷

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and dry and cloudy. Mick some of the cycling will be not far from where I stay. Ash I love the photo. Private Pike is easily recognisable. Susan I know what you mean about all or nothing days!
Yesterday was spent doing chores and pottering and gardening. A neighbour complimented me on the Japanese anemones I have. They are very lush at the moment, but I take no credit for them as they were gifted by another neighbour and I give them benign neglect.
Today I'm supposed to be meeting a couple of friends but the lady who instigated it hasn't been back in touch to say where or when. I will make a loaf, I think, as I've run out of bread and fancy homemade bread. I'll visit mum tonight. Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Thu 03-Aug-23 07:15:20

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Hopefully drier today.
It rained continuously yesterday.

My Helpers cleared an attic bedroom but I still need to go through the "rubbish" to rescue a few bits treasures
Meanwhile I tried to persuade my printer to print a returns label. I failed.

I'm going on a U3A walk today which entails a long bus ride first.

Corner I hope DH picks up now he has his own room.

I thought that was the original cast Ash
Brilliant!
Enjoy your cruise Stilllearning. The weather can't be worse than here
Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Nannagarra Thu 03-Aug-23 07:14:54

Good morning from bright and sunny Sefton.
A Boden dress for 50p is rather good, Mizuna! This afternoon I’ll spend with friends then enjoy a fig which has survived the downpours.
Take care everyone.

Good morning from cloudy Colchester.
Fingers crossed for a dry day as we're dropping DGS3 at football camp for the day. Looking forward to a peaceful day, at least until 3pm.
Love to all 🦩 x

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Coffee with my friend over the road this morning. Then another attempt to visit the Building Society. They were shut yesterday. I’ll try and make some ice cream too. I just couldn’t find the time yesterday. Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Thu 03-Aug-23 07:00:06

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire- at least currently.

Our baby is 36 today!!

We went through the final kitchen cupboards yesterday so, hopefully, actually packing it up will be a doddle.

Today, I am helping at a Memory Cafe - the theme being 'Summer Holidays'. Quite a stretch of our imaginations.

Susan56 Thu 03-Aug-23 06:58:46

Good morning from Shropshire.A day of sunshine and showers forecast but who knows as the forecasts have not been very accurate lately.

Hoping today will be a repeat of yesterday with all chores completed in the morning then an afternoon reading.I have enjoyed a couple of quiet days. Our days are either all or nothing!

Good to hear positive news of Mr C and glad you are coping well with the bus travel corner.

Great picture Ash!

Thoughts with all with struggles and worries.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from a brightening day in Torbay.

It’s so good to hear of progress with your DH cornergran and we shall keep you both in mind as recovery continues. What long days for you but it’s good that you can be fed well during the day.

olddudders arrived home safely in La Sarthe after a journey in which everything ran on time. I expect we will Zoom later.

Our final few rehearsals are picking up pace so we have hopes of being ready for our first audience on Monday. The photo shows the main players, some of whom bear a resemblance to the original actors!

Let’s hope we find some sunshine for us all before long…! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Glad things are improving, corner, albeit slowly. 🫂

Greyduster Thu 03-Aug-23 06:26:23

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire! Yesterday we were expecting heavy rain all afternoon and didn't get it until early evening, with barely a rumble of the forecast thunder. My plants are in an awful state at the moment. I hope a dry day today will help them get their heads up agains. I’m not going walking this morning - it was horribly wet underfoot last week and will be worse this week, and I still can’t get my boots on. I have an appointment with the physio at our surgery this afternoon - didn’t even know they had a physio there.
Have the best day you can folks.

Mizuna Thu 03-Aug-23 06:17:41

Good morning from a rainy Cornwall. I must check on my allotment today as the pond weed will need clearing. Before that a bus journey with my son just for fun as he is going to collect a car and we've never been on a bus together. Bought a lined Boden summer dress yesterday at my fave charity shop for 50p and resisted all the 10p books until I get rid of some at home.

cornergran Thu 03-Aug-23 06:16:02

Morning Mick, morning All. A mixed weather day ahead for our corner of Somerset.

Another day at the hospital for me. Some bumps in the road were flattened for Mr C who finally made it to a single room in a ward on Tuesday evening. Still the occasional pothole, all manageable. Still very weak he’s improving overall if not as quickly as he’d like. Not a patient patient! I’m hoping a second nights sleep has helped. Little of that to be had in ICU/HDU

My routine has settled nicely. I’m off for the bus about 8.30, get home about 7 having eaten a hot meal at lunch time in a surprisingly good if far too small hospital cafe.

Best get a wriggle on. My plan is to go to Sainsbury for a few bits and pieces when it opens at 7. Only 5 minutes away, I’ll be back in half an hour or so.

Take care everyone. Hope your days are as good as they can be.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 03-Aug-23 05:58:39

Good morning from the South Downs. Blimey yesterdays weather was diabolical, enormous downpours, howling winds and distinctly cool. Hope for better today.

Must sort out the conservatory plants today as they need cutting back perhaps repotting etc. might then weed out the front.

Fish day - so Salad Nicoise for dinner.

RosesandLilac Thu 03-Aug-23 05:56:51

Good morning, a damp start here on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Yesterday was definitely sunshine and showers, culminating in an absolute deluge yesterday evening, the road turned into a river!
Today another quiet day, I seem to still be paying for overdoing it 🙄, very frustrating and not a little perturbing. No good going to the doctor, I just get told ‘what do you expect?’ and to pace myself. Ho hum…..
Take care 🌹

grandMattie Thu 03-Aug-23 05:49:51

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. Talk about sunshine and showers yesterday! Bright sun then heavy showers… overcast but no rain today. Apart from a few warm days in June, we haven’t had a day above 20C this summer yet.
I had my glasses adjusted again yesterday. My peculiar eyesight means that they have to be exquisitely straight. Hope this does it otherwise I’ll have to have my eyes retested.
Some sewing in the afternoon.
Today, I’m expecting a call from the GP all morning, which means that I may/not go to my tai chi class in the church hall.
My thoughts go to Urms, kalu, baggs, Marydoll and families, to those is distress.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 03-Aug-23 05:44:15

Good morning Mick sounds as though your next few days is sorted!
Dry and bright here in our part of Oxfordshire, if it stays fine we are taking the open top car out. If it rains I will have to make a couple of trips to the tip and then we will hoover and clean my car, we will see what the weather is like mid morning and decide then.

Apart from that the ironing beckons and some house work later.

Have a good day everyone, and best wishes to all those with worries and stress.

Michael12 Thu 03-Aug-23 05:39:41
