Good morning/afternoon*Mick*, Annie* and all. Started off well, and after a few jobs am k...........d. So another sit down, wait for the second lot of washing to finish, and by then hope I have the energy to peg it out.
I will have to go back and read all todays posts.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Sunshine at long last.
The grass is being cut and another room cleaned.
My job is to issue instructions to my Brazilian helpers and hope they understand. Google translate can be useful but hilarious.
I have also done a couple of tip runs.
try explaining that!
It's DGD1 birthday today. She's 17 and very sweet. They are away on holiday.

I had a very busy weekend and would love to have a gentle day today.

Marydoll can't someone else wash the surplices? You really ought to be pacing yourself.

I'm glad MrCorner is home and on the mend.
I hope you get on ok today Baubles.

Happy birthday to Mr kitty

I am going to book for a few things in the festival/fringe before all the tickets run out.

Hoping you all have a very pleasant day.

Taichinan Mon 07-Aug-23 10:35:12

Happy Birthday to Mr Kitty.
Hope your check up goes well Ekwa - parking is always the worst part of hospital visits isn't it
Hope your back improves as the day goes on Georgesgran.

GrannySomerset Mon 07-Aug-23 10:31:49

Just waiting for the machine to deliver a second load to go on the line - the forecast says 0% chance of a shower but am not convinced. The towels however will go in the extravagant drier since I hate rough towels.

Nothing else planned for today but I have two good books on the go so will retreat to them.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Lancashire. Enjoy your trip to Bicester Mick.

Today I must empty the airing cupboard. The boiler is being serviced tomorrow morning. The time given between 8am and 1pm. We also need to make another tip run so must get a wiggle on. I will read the thread later.

Have a good day all whatever you’re doing 🌻🌻

Good morning from Durham. Wall to wall blue sky so far. Had the heating on for an hour yesterday while DGS2 was here, then somehow managed to ‘pull my back’. It was so bad, I had an early night. A little better this morning, so I’ll attempt coffee with friends (if I can get in my car) then tidy up the mess which was left when DGS2 went home. Nothing strenuous though.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from the Black country, I haven't read through yet up late and wanted to get washing out while the sun is shining.
No plans as yet for today DH watching the football so will see what he wants to do when its finished.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed. Will now get myself a cuppa 🍵 and catch up with everybody's happenings, enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Taichinan Mon 07-Aug-23 09:03:25

Good morning one and all. It's so lovely to wake up to a bright morning. although there's a bank of cloud determined to spoil things now. And what a glorious late afternoon and evening we had yesterday.
You seem to be well back in the old routine now Mick and I'm sure you're enjoying it. Grandmattie sorry you had a 'down' day yesterday - no matter what we do, those days come along, don't they. They also pass. Enjoy your Tesco trip with your new friend.
Marydoll - flowers, and an automatic.
Baubles I hope your procedure goes well today. flowers for you also.
And karma flowers
Oops your daughter's condition sounds so awful.
Mizuna I love that joyful picture! Lovely to see it again.
Ash glad you had a troublesome dress rehearsal - now you can enjoy a good run 😉
And best wishes to Cornergran and Mr C. I'm so glad for you that you have such wonderful support. Your 'non-routine' will soon evolve into something resembling a routine I'm sure.
Dancing GD's final show at The Fringe was yesterday. What a wonderful year's experience she has had with the NYDCS. Fantastic experiences and memories to last a lifetime. Her College course resumes the week after next and she's now concentrating on her degree. Goodness knows where all this will lead - but she certainly loves being on the stage!
I've a busy day ahead o?doing this and that, but mainly it's the kitchen's turn for a bit of tlc, plus some ironing, and the tai chi paperwork needs looking at. On the other hand, I'm half way through a good book .......
Have the best day you can everyone and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine x

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside (!) northwest coast. My DD arrives from the south tonight but won’t be eating as it will be too late and she will (about to say ‘grab’ something, but it’s been demoted 😁) and will have eaten.
Quiet day yesterday as always tired and back complains after my long day trips the day before. It didn’t rain, so dried sheets and a pile of washing in the open.

Need to fix up taxi and insurance for holiday in a few weeks.
Birthday greetings to your DH kittylester, hope your check up goes well Ekwanimitee and thoughts to all with worries 🌹

Good morning everyone from a bright sunny day in the North Atlantic, as we head south from Iceland.
I braved the torrential rain yesterday and took the shuttle bus into Reykjavik centre. Managed to find the main street ok, and had a pleasant wander browsing the few shops that were open. I managed to find a few souvenirs for family, and then in need of sustenance, found a bookstore with a coffee shop. Then one very drowned rat made her way back to the ship for a late lunch of roast beef.
A quiet afternoon spent reading, and after dinner a good show with a 60s tribute band.
A sea day today, which I love, and lots to do on board which makes it difficult to choose when things clash! Formal night tonight, preceded by a cocktail party, so it's glad rags on again.

Good morning from a brigh , sunny N. Bucks. Hopefully we might see some improvement in the weather for a week or two.
We have youngest DGS for a couple of hours this morning and will get out in the garden with him.
Otherwise a list of small jobs to do and some watercolour painting later.
Hope all the appointments go well.
Wishing all a good day.

Nannagarra Mon 07-Aug-23 08:29:26

Good morning from warm, sunny Sefton - not the day to have our central heating system serviced and tested!
Have your best Monday possible, everyone.

Good morning from a cloudy Severnside. It was sunny half an hour ago.

I started painting my hall yesterday. I’ve done the bottom half and was hoping to get away with just that but I’ve decided to do it all so I’ll be up and down the steps today. It’s a slightly different colour but I doubt anyone else would notice. I haven’t taken out the picture hooks yet so the wall looks like a climbing wall.

Wishing Mrkitty a Happy Birthday 🎂🍺

Have good day all 🌼

aggie Mon 07-Aug-23 08:18:32

Good morning from a grey Co Armagh
Yesterday produced several dreadful deluges , between bright sun episodes , power outage’s caught me out as one coincided with a sudden downpour, I couldn’t get the awning in , it’s out now to try and dry
The power went off just as I was about to cook lunch , luckily I have a gas hob ! Made a nice omelette,, thawed and toasted bread on the same pan , interesting outcome 🤣
Think I’ll put the washing on the airer , not the line 🙄

Wyllow3 Mon 07-Aug-23 08:18:24

Morning from a bright S Yorks. Really fortunate as the gardener comes this morning. also the garage is coming to get my car to hopefully at last sort out the air flow problems (could be 2 days but hoping for one): I have only been able to drive very locally for weeks and missed outings. Abnd. A Zoom in the middle of it all.

karmalady bests with your appointment and glad MrC is at home.

Were they beans in a packet, Grey? - I just shimmy the ends down the packet and cut them all off together…..
Must heave ho to look respectable for callers and Zoom.

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle, it will probably be yet another day when we will get a shower or two as we did yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, I'd been out in the morning doing the deadheading round. After lunch, I just shut myself in the office and got on with some boring and thus overdue admin.
I've also started a new book but haven't got into it yet so I watched yet another American action film in the evening. Not quite as many dead bodies as the previous night!
Today I have my annual check up, due to my haemochromatosis, by the specialist nurse at the hospital. Like you Baubles, I shall get there early due to the dire parking situation. At least it doesn't coincide with peak visiting time after lunch.
I also intend to get the laundry on but housework after lunch is generally banned...

Good luck with all your endeavours today everyone and best wishes to all the poorlies.

Happy birthday to your Dh Kittylester

kittylester Mon 07-Aug-23 08:08:13

Morning all from an overcast North Leicestershire.

Today is DH's 78th birthday and we will have an influx of visitors all day.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Mizuna Mon 07-Aug-23 08:05:00

Ooh, I want an igloo like that Gingster!

Jacs7 Mon 07-Aug-23 08:01:00

Good morning everyone from a sunny north Kent. How great to look out at a bright dry day - summer is back!

Yesterday saw three loads of washing done, dried and put away thanks to sunshine and a stiff breeze. There’s something very satisfying at watching clothes and bedding blowing on the line.

Today is the last session of our art course; there is an exhibition of the term’s endeavours. It’s always interesting to see how we have all interpreted the topics in a variety of ways. We shall all meet again for the new term in September.

Hope all the medical appointments go well today and that you all have a good day

Gingster Mon 07-Aug-23 07:57:43

Good morning all and it’s sunny here in Essex. Very still too. How different to Saturdays weather.
We travelled back yesterday with no traffic problems.
Nice to be back among family and friends.

DS1 and family are still away in holiday but return tomorrow.
Dd has been away so will see them too.

Dgd5 had her birthday party with a few friends in an ‘igloo’ in the garden. Thankfully the weather wasn’t as bad where they live and they survived the night. 💧💨.

Today shopping and dog walking.
I have to send something back to Amazon and it’s very very heavy. I hope they accept it at the PO.

Love that pic Mizuna . ❤️.
Marydoll enjoy your coffee and rummagings. Im sure you will find some bargains. 👍.
Corner . I’m glad things are moving in the right direction. Take each day as it comes.

Love to all and have a ‘good’ day 🌸

How lovely to wake up to blue skies and sun so a very good morning from Suffolk. For the first time for days now the rooks are making a huge hullabaloo. I think they must appreciate the sun after the recent chilly dreary mornings.

Our Bristol DD2 and family went home yesterday and the house is so quiet. Little dog is exhausted after all the company which she loves. DGS1 reminded us so much of DD2 when she was a teenager. He will be 14 in October and could eat for Englandwhilst being slim and tall. After a huge dinner including seconds of pudding,he’s on to slices of toast and jam an hour or so later.

We met DS and his tribe at the beach cafe in Dunwich on a very wet Saturday lunchtime for fish and chips. The youngest 2 GC sat with the adults but the teenagers had a nearby table to themselves. Don’t know what they were talking about but they amused themselves without looking once at their phones!!

Thinking of those feeling unwell and those with worries about loved ones and hoping that the widespread sunshine today helps to lift spirits.
