Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry , sunny start here in brackley this morning.
Today < I have my chiropodist visiting me ,and hopefully be able to go out later on.
Take Care,
Mick

Marydoll I thought the local chemist could provide your meds? My blister pack arrives regularly.

Because my surgery is in another town, the pharmacies here will not accept electronic scripts, so I or a family member have to go and collect them.
The pharmacy beside my surgery can take up to ten days to dispense and have lost scripts, so I have given up on them. Many patients have made complaints.

Blister packs are not possible, because my meds change all the time. The only meds which are delivered are hospital ones.
I have explored all these avenues and this is the least stressful solution

PS
Candles were lit at Mass , I hope they bring comfort

Good morning from a muggy warm Co Armagh, low clouds look threatening but my phone assures me it won’t rain !
Collected eye drops from the pharmacy, he suggested I take out a bank loan ! At the rate prices are rising I took two !

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Disrupted night due to cramp.
DD here and returns home to the south tomorrow. My neighbours return today after nearly three weeks away, so the cat feeding can cease.
Book for next bookgroup arrived, don’t fancy it at all, will skim it.,.
I have to return a soundbar my DS provided which is not compatible.

Thoughts to all with troubles and will read through later.

Good morning from dull but warm Carnoustie. Family are visiting from Holland, so waiting to hear their plans. Grandson had to attend Dental Hospital yesterday for temporary filling. Clearing an area in the garden as it has become so overgrown have a good book on the go and lazy day after that. Take care everyone.

Good morning from Durham. It seems quite warm, but heavily overcast. All plans for today cancelled as I’m in the same situation as Ziplok with backache, although mine is down to throwing a toddler around! It’s very frustrating, but I think a gentle walk later might help.
Best wishes to all. X

Ziplok Thu 10-Aug-23 09:35:47

Morning.
Lovely bright sunshine and very warm here today.
Will take it easy as I’ve pulled a muscle or trapped a nerve or something in my lower back after gardening yesterday. Whatever it is, it’s sore.
The beer trap is doing its job in the greenhouse, 4 slugs in it this morning - they’ve been feasting on my pepper plants.
Well, I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning from a lovely sunny Algarve after two days of thick cloud cover. Still hot though which made for a very oppressive atmosphere.

Lots of lovely photographs to catch up on, Mizuna I’m glad the tree that came down caused no damage to life or limb. How large is your allotment?

Blossoming Thu 10-Aug-23 09:06:17

Good morning all. A lovely sunny morning in Lancashire. I have a BP clinic appointment in 30 minutes, will pop back later 🌻🌻

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle. Yesterday's brilliantly sunny start didn't last, by mid-morning it was grey and that was more or less it for the rest of the day.
I just got on with housework and admin. I was driven nuts by pedantic Google which has been threatening to close my inactive account and so I had to try signing in again. What a performance, I won't go into the tedious detail, suffice to say, it took a resented amount of time.
Today, the ironing I think and a little bathrooms cleaning; this afternoon, my new book. Fingers crossed for the 'heroes' but I think they're doomed.

Have the best possible day all of you.

Good morning everyone from a warm and sunny north Kent.

Bit later this morning so will go and read everyone’s news after I have posted.

Yesterday I collected my sunglasses ready for the two days of summer; pleased with them, but popping back this morning to have them adjusted. Cut the grass which was a good workout as it was very thick after all the rain.

Just sitting down with a well earned cuppa when DH announced he was going to our medical drop in centre as he had a big lump on his knee which he proceeded to show me. Apparently has had it for “a week or so”. After a brief wait he was seen and Housemaid’s Knee aka bursitis was diagnosed with the primary cause kneeling down doing weeding at his allotment; it certainly wasn’t caused by an excess of housework 🤣. Thankfully it has gone down a bit this morning after ice packs and rest.

I need to get into domestic goddess mode today as we have visitors for lunch tomorrow, so will have to go and wake up the dusters and bring the hoover out of hibernation.

Have a good day.

Staceyann

Can you not have your meds delivered, Marydoll?

No. Unfortunately, my surgery is too far away, believe me I have tried!

Staceyann Thu 10-Aug-23 08:48:15

Can you not have your meds delivered, Marydoll?

Grandmabatty Thu 10-Aug-23 08:46:24

Marydoll thank you. I'm waiting for them to insist she goes home with a care package. That cannot happen for many many reasons which I won't share on an open forum. I hope you have a better day today.

Jaxjacky Thu 10-Aug-23 08:39:31

Good morning from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is already 16°C! It is predicted to be 24° today. I may have misheard Alexa!
DD let me sleep on, after yet another disturbed night, He has kindly brought me a long hot water bottle to wrap around my painful shoulders.
Lots of busyness already this morning on here!

Mizuna, my DD and SIL would have been there like a shot with a saw, offering to take the wood off your hands. They are obsessed with their new log burner.

We had a pleasant day out yesterday, managing to change the expensive LED lights. We have sixteen of them, in various lights in our lounge and eight so far have been faulty. The manager explained that the manufacturer has accepted they are a faulty batch and expects to see us soon with the rest!
I also had a look at M&S sale and was so disappointed at what they had to offer.

Today I need to pick up a pile of prescriptions and get them dispensed.
There are so many, they are impossible to sync, especially as the surgery are so strict about not ordering too early.
I wrote a note, explaining some of them have been requested slightly early, but I am unwell and running backwards to the surgery is becoming problematic, because my surgery is at the far end of the neighbouring town.
Much to my surprise, the have agreed to write the script!

Grandmabatty, please insist on being at meetings with social work, regarding your mum.
Social Work decided to send my very demanding mother back home from hospital, without my knowledge. I had three children, was studying part time, wearing two wrist splints up to my elbows and working full time at the time. She told them I was giving up my job to look after her. They believed her, because she was bed blocking and they needed her bed!
She never did go home, after I made a colossal fuss and she saw a geriatric consultant, who diagnosed her with alzheimers and deemed that she needed full time nursing care and radiotherapy for a basal cell ulcer, which had eaten into her eye, but she had refused treatment for it. The thing was, she had initially fooled her GP ( despite my protestations) and the nursing staff.
One of my colleagues found me distraught in my room one day and urged me to phone social work and arrange a meeting, which set the ball rolling for support.
Be ahead of the game for your own physical and mental wellbeing.
On reading your posts, I find she sounds a lot like my mum.

I wish you all a pleasant day and as always, the poorlies are in my thoughts and prayers.

ginny Thu 10-Aug-23 08:14:23

Good morning. Bright and sunny at the moment.
We are dropping DGS2 at his holiday club and then have a prescription to collect.
Meeting DD1 and SIL for lunch at a cafe they have recommended. Mail appointment later.
This eve I must pack ready to go away with DD3 and the two smaller DGSs. We are off to the Isle of Wight. They are very excited about going on the ferry.
A good day wished for you all.

GrannySomerset Thu 10-Aug-23 08:13:05

What a lot of early birds today, making the most of summer’s brief appearance perhaps, since today promises to be warm and sunny before tomorrow reverts to type. Will plan some gentle gardening I think since the house is clean and tidy (as long as no cupboard doors are opened).

brook2704 Thu 10-Aug-23 08:12:42

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a mix of blue sky and cloud, set to be a warm day later
A lucky escape for the greenhouse and the frog mizuna, hope everything is back in order soon
I had a good busy day yesterday, the gym in the morning, gardening in the afternoon and then back to the gym for a new salsa dance class in the evening. All really good fun but I’m feeling it this morning! No plans yet for today, I’ll probably just have a pottering day in the garden.
Sounds like a great day ahead nannagarra, that’s one of our car karaoke sing along songs too!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Pittcity Thu 10-Aug-23 08:07:38

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Summer is back. 24°is plenty hot enough for me.
Housework and shopping today as DS is home tonight for a fortnight's leave. This means that the fridge will empty quickly and the cupboards will be bare in no time.
The 2 x DGS that we took to cold, rainy Somerset at the end of July are off to Spain with the other grandparents. It's not getting below 26° overnight there. Good job they've got Aircon and a pool.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gingster Thu 10-Aug-23 08:06:10

Good morning all and it’s going to be another warm one.☀️.

Yesterday ds1 and DIL came for a cuppa and we enjoyed hearing all about their lovely holiday. The teenage girls were still recuperating in their rooms 🤣.

Today the car is going in for MOT and service so no bowls group for me.. we’ll dog walk and potter at home as it’s going to be warm.

Hope the op goes ahead for your dh Sar . 🤞

Mizuna what a shock, but could have been worse.

LLF what a beautiful view.

I’ll be singing Shotgun all day now Nannagarra 😆.

I hope you all enjoy the day, one way or another 🌻
