Some people are just so entitled and lack decency and consideration for others.

Bella23 I once saw someone bring their dog on to our front garden to do a poo!! It was a teenager, not from our road. I rapped on the window, she looked shame faced and slunk off.

No.

DIL was complaining about it the other day; she always picks it up and deposits it correctly. And, meeting with friends the other evening, that subject came up and the responsible dog owners complained it was getting far worse.

Carrying a bag of poo has never bothered me. It’s not that hot! Leaving it at the roadside to collect on the return journey is unpleasant for others.

Same here- can't bear to carry bag of hot poo. So I pick up, bag up, and leave at the side, to collect on way home. However, when on paths in the woods, if there are no cattle with access to that area, and if dog does his business in wild grasses away from path, I don't pick up. Only pick up if on the path or too close to path- it will compost quickly and better than yet another plastic bag.

Brilliant I particularly hate the people who pick up their dog muck and then hang the bag from hedges like some bizarre, disgusting Christmas decoration.

When we had two sister cocker spaniels I used to do that. Saved a long walk holding full poo bags. But ... as we always returned down the same lane, I collected them on my way back and took them home. I suppose anyone seeing them in the interim would have been cross, not knowing they wouldn’t be there long!

Our village IS used by out of towners. The villagers know each other. A lovely lane was decorated with bags. A local farmer got a sheep marking spray and put circles where the unbagged had been left on the road side ,did it put them off no. I have even been cooking, our kitchen widow is at the front of the house and saw the same woman' dog sit in our drive. I purposely got a deterant spray I think really for cats but as she was leaving I let her see me spraying the areas. Her dog refused the corner the next day and she pulled it back so she could stand out of the wind.
We have a school bus that picks up even nursery children and their route is exactly where all the piles are.
A bin has finally appeared from the council and it is very rarely used.
My DH does a lot of fell walking and he says the fells are littered with plastic bags. what is the mentality of putting it in a bag and then leaving it? They can not be bothered to carry it back to their cars.

Two mins across the road from ours there are woods it’s an area that stretches for miles. It was an old railway line since the 80s it has been a public footpath and park area. The council have have provided just one dog bag bin that’s in the car park.

The disgusting habit here is to throw doggy bags in bushes and our gardens or let dogs foul outside our houses it’s a disgrace. Locals including myself have complained to the council all they do is put signs on lampposts which achieves nothing.

There is a network of footpaths near to where we live and all have a dog waste bin located on them but the paths are still littered with dog mess; the smell is horrendous, particularly in warm weather.
A few weeks ago, I was walking along a particular narrow stretch when I came across a young man with three small dogs, all on leads, one of which was doing its business on the path while the other two just sniffed about and explored - no problem with that - the young man spotted me and dragged the two dogs aside to let me pass. I just said 'thanks but I'm in no hurry so I will wait until the dog has finished, you've picked it up and then you can bin it as you continue your walk'. His face was a picture and he spent some time fumbling through his pockets for a poo bag. It was evident that he originally had no intention of cleaning up after his dog.

Good for you, wall-of-shame poster! I live near this place. I just don't understand irresponsible dog owners.

Here (London/Essex borders) it's everywhere - especially outside the local primary school.

I walk my little dog morning and evening. It's really bad in the mornings - so I can only assume that it's mainly those who walk large dogs (yes, easy to tell the size) late in the evenings. Sorry - but that's men who think they won't be seen in the dark!

Our local wood has a “poo blossom” tree strategically placed where most dogs bound out of the car and then do a poo. Then all the “blossom bags” are collected once a day and disposed of.

The idea was to prevent wildlife getting entangled with plastic.

There’s always a small pile of bags at the bottom of the tree. Too much bother to hang it up. Or just “I won’t be told what to do”?

When we moved here, we took our dogs to a nearby deserted area - never saw a soul. Then 6/7 years ago professional dog walkers found it! It’s a constant stream of vans, every hour of the working day, 5 days a week and ‘the mess’ (that’s dog cr*p) is disgraceful. DH campaigned for a poo bin and got 2, but do they use it??? He used to point it out to them and they’d say they would pick it up on the return leg, but most didn’t. No dogs for me now, but I get DD2’s Little Dog at least once a fortnight and take him there late at night. It’s supposed to be a family friendly area, trees planted by the Woodland Trust, but I wouldn’t take a child there with all the sh*t to avoid. Don’t even get me started about the hanging bags!!
