I would love to be Miss Marple. The Joan Hickson version.

When I was a child, I always wanted to be Heidi.
Yes to Jo March (though I haven't read LW since I was 12) or Elizabeth Bennet - what is it with 2nd daughters?
I love Jane Eyre but I'd never have got over all that childhood trauma.
Kay Scarpetta? Too much blood.
These are all lovely people with interesting lives. I like the idea of Jack Reacher, but he's got no home.
Michael Connelly's Hieronymus Bosch it is, if I can get over losing Mother at a young age.

Elinor Dashwood - the 'Sense' half of 'Sense and Sensibility'.

I’m with you on Cassandra Mortmain keepcalmandcavachon, I Capture the Castle is my favourite book of all time too. Otherwise, I think I’d like to be Flora Poste from Cold Comfort Farm - so focussed, so organised and determined to make her own destiny.

Lucia from the EF Benson books about life in Tilling.

Scarlet O'hara from Gone With The Wind but would realise that Rhett was the one. My second choice would be Jo from Little Women.

Jack Reacher. (Not with Tom Cruise in mind!).

Jane Eyre. She was so strong and never wavered in her principles.

Taggie Rupert-Black

(Jilly Cooper is my comfort author)

P.S. Gone With The Wind, of course.

Feisty Scarlett O’ Hara.

But I would give up yearning for boring old Ashley Wilkes, and make the most of big, bad but gorgeous Rhett Butler, who adores me, but I am too blinkered to see it.

Jo in Little Women

If you awoke one morning to find yourself in a book, who would you be? Shall I ask for your second choice as surely everyone has a yearning to be Bathsheba Everdene !
I have always loved Cassandra Mortmain. She speaks to my heart as much now as when I first read I Capture the Castle many moons ago.
