Seen on FB:

I phoned Heart FM today to enter their mystery prize competition. The presenter answered and said "Congratulations on being our first caller, all you need to do is answer the following question correctly to win our Mystery Prize.
"That's fantastic !" I said
"Well, it's a geography question" said the presenter
"That's wonderful" I said "I have a degree in Geography from Oxford University, and I have taught geography to A level students for the last 20 years"
"Ok then, to win our grand prize of 2 VIP tickets to a Tory leadership hustings and to meet the two leadership candidates afterwards for afternoon tea,.....what is the capital of France?"
"Bradford" I replied

I want to know where the afternoon tea is - if the Ritz or Dorchester could I mentally blank out any propaganda? Or divert the conversation?
It could be worth it!

Where's this competition? I think I know the answer, really excited now πŸ˜‚

So this is the reason why our young people are not qualified for the job market, and we have to import better educated people from other countries.

(Yes, I do get the 'joke' but it isn't really a joking matter.)

???confused???

Well, it made me laugh out loud.

Some of the responses might explain why, when I have tried to be lighthearted, I have often had the success of a lead balloon sad

Bradford was the right answer. What could one possibly learn from Truss except how to be a hopeless PM? Sunak made a good start but he's sinking fast.

eazybee Sat 12-Aug-23 15:59:49

Oh, you should go.
You might possibly learn something.

Bridie22 Sat 12-Aug-23 15:39:50

That's definitely a booby prize!!
